Another day, another foreclosure for The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The latest housewife to get her home foreclosed is Lisa Wu Hartwell. Sheree Whitfield’s home was foreclosed a while back. Nene Leakes was also evicted from the home she was renting late last year.
TMZ is reporting today that Lisa Hartwell and her husband, former Oakland Raiders linebacker Ed Hartwell, were booted from their multi-million dollar Georgia mansion last week — after the bank foreclosed on the place. The bank sold it shortly after.
Lisa’s rep does not deny the story. The rep claims the couple was in talks with the lender to restructure the loan because the home had lost value — but that failed. They originally bought the place for $2.9 mil back in 2007 but the bank only got $1.9 mil when they resold it this month.
The rep continues, “Ed and Lisa are fine. They have settled in their [new] home, that sits on 10 acres and they OWN it!”

Do any of these housewives actually have money???? And since when is getting your home foreclosed a good thing like her rep tried to spin?
Hre we go again.lol. wow. I hope Kandi owns her own stuff. do any of them besides the now gone deshawn have any real money? reality tv that is faker than a 3 dollar bill.lol. I will keep watching too.lol
A lot of haters come on here bashing people who lost their homes to foreclosure. I suppose a lot are ones who could never afford to own a car much less a home. Keep in mind some homeowners are losing their homes not because they are broke but because the home is not worth the purchase price it was valued at by greedy real estate industry devils. Why continue to pay for a home that is now worth 4x less than it was purchased for; its common sense. I think most people are envious these people have an income that allows them to enjoy a better lifestyle and are taking joy seeing them in pain. The real pain comes from people wishing they could enjoy a taste of that lifestyle or live a little bit better then their current situation allows. They feel good seeing misfortune on people who they are a bit more well off. They are externalizing their preceived personal failures because they have not attained the status or security a decent income allows.
You fall into foreclosure because you are not able to pay your monthly morgage. Sure the property value has declined but your morgage is the same amount you paid last year and the year before. Perhaps if they would modify their excess spending they would have been able to cover the cost of their monthly payments.
In Sheree’s case she had her home foreclosed and was ready to throw herself a huge expensive party..couldn’t that money have been better used to pay a bill. Ever heard of a small intimate dinner party with friends.
In this economy everyone is scaling down in their spending, no one is being a hater to these women.

Dolores hit the nail on the head. These ladies cannot maintain their lifestyles with or without a man. It is a shame that they are out here parading around as if they have it all together… living “the life.” At what point does falling flat on your face become embarrassing Lisa, Sharee & NeNe??? Better yet, at what point does the TV station airing this trash decide to stop because it is obvious they do not have what they say they do.
As for Kim…. I am going to call a spade, a spade. She is a whore… parading around talking about Mr. Bigs AKA Lee Najjar a MARRIED man with four children and alleged real estate mogul in Atlanta. I hope his wife gets EVERYTHING if they are really divorcing. Kim wants to live a life… she doesn’t love that man… she loves the life she thinks he could give her. And what kind of example is she showing to her two girls??? What she fails to remember is Karma is a MOFO…. what comes around goes around. No matter what happens between her and Lee… she will always be in second place.
Kandi… girl Mama is always right! She better start listening to her! Six kids??? I understand she likes kids… I do too but damn even your daughter gets it…. so why can’t she? I know her fiance’s babies mamas (all four of them) are waiting for that marriage to go down. Surely, they are going straight to the courthouse to petition for more child support and they will get it cause as Kandi said….”I make hot records.” Well Ms. Kandi you better get to writing because you are going to need a bunch of “hot records” to keep up with those child support payments you will end up paying. Oh I forgot… Kandi said her fiance had several business… but she didn’t say what they are… surely there is a reason for that.
Anyway, I am done watching these fake broads. They need to get a grip on life.

Delores and Jewels…….WOOT, WOOT!!!!! I have 3 kids and a husband who owns his own company. I raise my children by myself and do the cooking, cleaning, children’s activities, etc all while driving a mini van and paying our bills on time……..we are the Real Housewives of GA…..why don’t they do a show on that…..
I watch the show and to be perfectly honest but not racist, it’s because the cast is African-American and also in the city in which I reside. BUT…Bravo could have done a better job of finding African-American families that handle their business better than what’s being displayed. All of the other shows have all white cast and their wealth is from some type of business other than entertainment, yet Bravo had to come to the South and cast a bunch of EX-pro athletes and their shopaholic wives. I hate to bring race into this but clearly we (African Americans as well as Southeners) have better representation.
I am a college student and far from wealthy but I could show these grown women how to handle their business better than they have so far. I am not “hating” because I have no reason to. I’ll be successful and my husband will be too…hopefully! And not for singing, throwing a ball, or having babies from men that sing or throw a ball.
African-Americans can be successful without exploiting themselves. Please give us a cast of successful intellects!
I am an AA pharmacist happily married with two kids. Do you all really want to watch me? People want to watch drama- Drama is what sells and drives ratings.
As much as you may want to see successful intellects, their lives may not be that much exciting for national TV.
I agree with most posters. I have a four children autistic daycare in my home. I have a son who is autistic and I am dedicated to the cause. I have an assistant and my husband in the Bronx riverdale to be exact, owns his own heating and refrigeration business. I also do research online for surveys. I gather info on what is current and hot in the reality world and send info to the El Lay office. I hardly think this would make for salacious television. I am just glad I can laugh at the fools that sign their privacy away for a dollar. I will continue to laugh and enjoy what is the fake reality shows.lol. thank you Kari, Tia and Bee. great posts. Not agreeing with everyones point of view does not constitute hating. we all have opinions which make for a very interesting world.
All I have to say is: Three of the real houswives of Atlanta are very unsophisticated, two-faced, and rowdy {Lisa, Ne-Ne, and Sheree} They do not represent business women very well at all. I think these women need to back off of Kim, and get their own priorities straight.

Hey everyone she put her house in a short sell cause it was not worth 3 million dollars… Why would you pay 3mill when everyone else is paying 1.9mill.. Come On People! She never displayed a lavish life style… she is a smart women and got cause she knows the real estate in’s and outs… she is a very smart women… prolly smarter than all the rest of them… instead of you guys thinking wow she is the only one wanting and doing something.. you think negative… WOW!!! @ Tia, thank you for not allowing me to be the only person to feel this way. I am a college grad who works everyday and working on my M.S. degree. The show should be about the reality of working towards your goals in this twisted world we live today. However, because the drama factor wouldn’t be about who said my boyfriend was broke, bouncing checks at Saks or trying to find a legal way to reduce my mortgage; the show wouldn’t last one episode.
I pray these women wake up and do it fast because they are truly not who they think they are.
I find it funny to think there are people trying to explain away Lisa’s financial woe’s. Everyone’s property values have dropped, but with this investment the market will return in time you still pay your bills, don’t play us for fools. You don’t stop paying for this reason…that is ridiculous. With all of the “businesses” this woman has, why do none of them make her money? Records indicate that her Real Estate company has sold only one home. Working in the Real Estate legal field I can assure you that homes are still selling. All of these woman continuously speak of their elite status, but the reality of it all is they are no different than middle america and that may be a long shot. Stop the Bashing indicates that most of the people making comments that are found to be unfavorable are due to the fact that we couldn’t own a car let alone a home. Let me be perfectly clear. I OWN my home and the 50 acres that surround it. I live within my means. This group uses poor grammar, claim to be elite and display a lifestyle that they really are not a part of and think they are fooling Americans. Get real this is not high class. In regard to Kim did you all know that she gets 30K in alimony and child support from her past marriage? Would you take the money after your divorce? In my opinion Kandi and Kim are the only ones that can afford their lifestyle. IN the most recent airing Nene calls herself a A list celebrity. Get a life gals, you are D list and phony. Enough said.
This is exactly the type of person you do NOT want to feel sympathy for. Millions of Americans are being foreclosed because they can not pay their house payments but millionaires and other decide to just stop paying because they do not like their home value. A primary residence is not supposed to be an investment. It is supposed to be a place to live. The whole idea behind taking a mortgage for a residence is to finance your long-term home. Buyer’s remorse is not a good excuse for not paying for your purchases.
I also wouldn’t brag about bot paying for your house and then claiming to get a new one that you “own.” I admit I do not know Georgia’s debt laws, especially as they pertain to mortgages. However, in many states you are legally obligated for the difference. if their house sold for $ 1 million less than they owed and it is collectible under law, the bank could sue them for $1 million+ and put a lien against their property. If that’s the case, it’s a stupid move. They wouldve been better off just keeping up the payments or paying it off in a lump sum since they claim to have so much cash.
I really don’t doubt their claims. Ed Hartwell is finished as a player and had a terrible career- he did not fulfill his contract, which was not guaranteed money. However, I still believe he made quite a few million. Their excuse makes them even WORSE and more pathetic, if it is true they could afford the house but just decided they didn’t feel like paying.
That was a smart money move by Lisa and her husband. Houses have lost their value- not just million dollar homes. I wouldn’t pay ( if I had it, Lol, which I don’t) $2.9 mil for a house that had lost a million dollars worth of value. What that shows us is that the system has been ganking us all along on REAL ESTATE VALUE. Note houses cost twice what they cost to build a decade ago. We all should be watching our coins a bit better!
FYI- If you pay too much for something you are an idiot, not the people who sold it to you, or the people who loaned you the money! I home plenty of houses and cars…and I pay for them all. Of course I have good parents who taught me to be responsible for my actions and I have integrity. Both of those seem to be missing with many of the HWOA, as well as many other Americans. Grow up and pay your bills and try to act like an adult, even if you are a fake/reality “star”.

Fake, fake, fake, fake, is the only word that comes to mind when you think of these “Real” Housewives of ATL. Lisa, hon, don’t think people are as stupid as you want them to be. It has been documented that your house was auctioned off after the bank seized possession, which means it was a FORECLOSURE. In a short sell the bank never has possession because the home is sold to a third party for less than the original note to the bank, thus the words “short sell.” Honesty is the best policy because if you continue to deny the obvious, you just make yourself look bad and FAKE!
Stop the bashing I agree one hundred percent. “Misery loves Company” I mean lets not hate on others who are living the life and new how to get to where they are. However they got there. Shoot if the same opportunities were presented to them they would be the same. And whoever said being a house wife was easy anyway. Money just makes it that much better.
