Despite cheating allegations and rumors of a break up, newly engaged Bachelorette couple Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski are still together.
An insider told In Touch Weekly that both Ed and Jillian plan to stay engaged and work through the problems, specifically the cheating allegations. “When Jillian accepted Ed’s proposal, she was starting to fall in love,” the magazine reports.
The insider continues, saying it wasn’t until after accepting the $60,000 ring that Jillian started to hear rumors that Ed might have kept company with a past girlfriend, among others.
A lot of people are wondering why Jillian has agreed to stay with Ed despite all the evidence pointing to him cheating. Former Bachelorette contestant, DeAnna Pappas believes money might be a factor.
“Hours after my finale, I was bombarded with offers for endorsements, special appearances and more,” Pappas told In Touch. “But the catch was they wanted both me and my fiancé (Jesse Csincsak).”
Four months following the final rose ceremony and proposal, DeAnna and Jesse broke up. Both were offered $10,000 to appear at a nightclub and $5,000 to appear at a mall.
“If Jesse and I stayed together, we could have easily cashed in,” Pappas said. “But for me, it felt like selling out.”
UPDATE – Edited to add that ABC paid the first Bachelorette, Trista Rehn and husband Ryan Sutter, $1 million to televise their wedding back in 2003. So Jillian and Ed making it down the aisle could mean big bucks for the couple.

She is a Canadian citizen It means she also lost her working visa to work in America.she need Ed to marry her in order for her to stay here in the United States.She needs all the money she can get if she is planning to start her own design business. of course they are staying for the money and each is looking out for their interest.
jillian’s job was in vancouver not the states…so that is not the reason.
Her previous employment also have clients here in the states. she had been working back and forth for years. I have to say she is really talented in her line of work as a restaurant interior designer. she could get a green card if she want to become a permanent residence in the states as long as she have a job in the states. She do not need to marry ED for that. all she needs is a company to sponsor her. but if she is planning to become a US citizen she should marry a US citizen.
