@jenny from the bronx - I had the same question. Apparently, (maybe not so much) Sheree was a successful fashion boutique owner/buyer in Atlanta that catered to the rich and famous (before she met her ex-husband) who wanted to start her "own" fashion line. It seems she stopped/sold the business after she married and had the idea to do her own thing instead. I think it was just kismet for her to start the line now using the lump sum from the divorce settlement and the publicity/visibility/cameras from the RHO-Atlanta show. Her ex fronted the money for this venture (as a loan I think). http://www.makli.com/she-by-sheree-clothing-line-005119/

@fauleigh - Remember, Michael Knight DID give her his opinion of her former fashion line. And NO, he wasn't happy! I've seen pictures of him at her Atlanta premier/fashion show this year. He seemed happy enough in the pics. Not sure if it could be blamed on the alchohol.

Apparently I'm in the minority, but I DO like SOME of Sheree's clothing (from both the Atlanta and NY shows). From the NY show pics I like the cream wide leg trouser with yellow pocketed halter (1st pic), the gold satin halter jumpsuit and canary yellow corseted bubble skirt mini dress (2nd pic), and the satin draped taupe shirt and royal blue bubble skirt (3rd pic). In the 4th pic, both fashions are (que Dwight) DREADFUL! The style, stitching, fit, adornment, EVERYTHING is just so NOT good! I couldn't find a website for her line (neither could I for Closet Freak by Lisa Wu-Hartwell) so I don't know what price point she plans to hit with this. But I do see this line fitting in nicely with some low-end urban (customers who're more likely to know who she is) outlets. Sheree would do best to pair herself with a big name celebrity or big name designer (hopefully both) to get the right line out in the right way. Right now she is not a big enough celebrity or great enough fashion visionary (note I didn't say designer) to sell or craft a fashion line. Since she has once proven herself to be a successful business owner/fashion buyer, perhaps she should channel some of her money/energy into creating an outlet for her own fashion line. Much like the 2nd winner of Project Runway did (forgot her name, she already had a store and a line before PR). If that's successful, she could branch that out to other major urban markets. It's not like any major retailers are buying her clothes to fill thier racks right now.

..to piggy back on a statement made above...class is something you have or you don't, can't buy it. The line looks cheap and I expected more..never-the-less it is what it is..I am not a hater but I do have taste. I believe if you have a dream its fantastic but you must take all the steps to make your dream a realty by preparation. Sheree needs design school, if she really wants to pursue this as career, get the necessary tools and knowledge to make your product as best as it can be..don't settle for medoicrity...

so, here's the deal. gigi i agree that there are haters and haters do what they do, "hate", but let's look at the facts. one of the writers commented about the designers out there who will do what it takes to make it. some have a gift for this, they invest time to go to school, they put in years as an intern, they get into the "nut and bolts" of the craft. sheree on the other hand has shown us that, that's not what she intends to do to become a "true" success, a bought one maybe, but not tried and true. gigi my friend, it's wonderful that sheree follows her dreams and wants to be a huge success. cool. but, the focus should be the clothes, not her ability to spend, spend $$ and be a socialite with a well known face and name here in the a-t-l, from what i gathered, she already had that. look, what else did she really do other than get paid after a bad marriage? (i don't make lite of her divorce, that was unfortunate) but, hey uhh! remember the clothes, the fashion, the craft, i thought that was supposed to be her thing. last point. i agree her debut was a wonderful show, dwight had the lights, the music, the runway, poppin', but when you really look at the clothes, i mean really look, they just don't have "IT". i just don't think she's going to last long as a designer. it's not hating, it is what it is!!!!!!!!!!

As a seamstress I could tell from the first trip to the lady that was sewing the clothes that this was going to be another disaster. A lot of people think they are designers and seamstress but they are not. She should give her money to a deserving designer like Michael Knight to help him get his line to the masses. It takes more than money to make it in the fashion world. If she is serious about making it in fashion she needs to go to school and learn what it takes. A lot of people show fashions during fashion week that doesn’t mean that they showed at Bryant Park! Sheree it takes time to get a collection together if you are serious about having a clothing line look inside your designer clothes and see how they are make, this is what you should expect your clothes to look like. You can’t cut corners. Do your research, going to New York for a seamstress does not guarantee that you will get quality craftsmanship.

Excuse me Monica, but DO NOT put those clothes off on Texas. Sorry Sheree but you need to start over. Maybe try fashion as a hobby not a career.
