Real Housewives of New York City star, Bethenny Frankel said yes after her boyfriend of 11 months, Jason Hoppy proposed. Over the summer, there were rumors that Bethenny was engaged but PEOPLE magazine confirmed that Jason’s proposal took place on Oct. 8.
“It feels great, because I’m with the right person,” says Bethenny. “He’s may be regretting it because it’s been beyond a week and he’s in panic mode – [but] no, we’re enjoying it.
Jason’s proposal caught Bethenny off guard. Bethenny returned home after shooting Housewives and promoting her Skinny Girl Magaritas to find over a hundred lit votive candles and rose petals across the hallway of her apartment. Jason dressed up Bethenny’s pooch Cookie in a pink bow. He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
Bethenny’s ring is an 8-carat sparkler with a 6 ½-carat pear-shaped center stone flanked by two side stones from Manhattan jeweler Kristin Farrell.
Bethenny jokes, “I made him pick them up. This was the first thing we had to resolve.”
The couple who first met in December 2008 at the Tenjune nightclub have yet to set a wedding date.

Congrtulations Bethenny.I am so happy for you. While your ring is beautiful, it’s a little bit exessive and it almost becomes gaudy. While I love diamonds as much as anyone a ring that big takes away from it’s beauty.Get a smaller one and give the balance to charity in this recession. The food banks a dangerously low.

May, Who cares if he can afford her. I doubt he borrowed the money to buy her ring. Anyway I’m sure Bethenny is self sufficient. Some women just want a Down Town man. When I married my husband he had a regular job and I made 20 times more than he did. I could afford to take care of him. Women need to stop trying to look for a man to take care of them and take care of yourself that way you can pick your man for the right reasons. There is no crime if he does have money. My congrats to Bethenny and her man. I too married a man that can handle me and we are very happy and in love.
I mean come on, 6 1/2 carats that’s a little much… And u don’t know if the show has ever said or not, but what in the heck does this guy do for a living??? The picture of her wedding ring is so much better, much more tasteful and much more Bethany ;and still lots of diamonds)!!! But I’m glad she’s happy, she deserves it and for the record Jill has turned into the biggest bitch and name dropping snob this season and I actually really liked her last season! She and Louann are really just too much!
