The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Sheree Whitfield is starting afresh following her divorce. She recently debuted her clothing line, She By Sheree at the New York Fashion week.
In a recent interview with Essence, Sheree reveals her plans to relocate, talks about her fashion line, and whether she’d be back for the third season.
Below are excerpts from Sheree’s new interview:
ESSENCE.COM: Congrats on your first fashion show in New York. What did you take away from the experience?
SHEREE WHITFIELD: It was amazing. It was my way to test my line in the New York market, the world’s fashion capital. I got a lot of positive feedback and support from the fashion industry. You really have to be hands on. I feel like I need to move to New York to really be there. I tried here in Atlanta and it really did not work and it went well in New York, but I had to go back and forth a lot. I love it in New York and would love to live there and still keep a place in Atlanta when I want to slow down.ESSENCE.COM: Back in Atlanta you had a little help from Dwight with your other show.
SHEREE WHITFIELD: Working with Dwight was okay, but it came off like he did a lot more than he did. He came in on the last week and had some great ideas, but I also had some people in from New York working on it already. We pulled it off and it was awesome. I saw what he was saying in the confessional and was like, “Wow, you didn’t do this by yourself, honey.”ESSENCE.COM: During your appearance on “Ellen,” you and Kim went at it. Any chance you’ll mend your friendship?
SHEREE WHITFIELD: That piece of trash! Kim loves attention. TV made me and Kim’s relationship seem different than it was. She and I were never friends. I don’t believe in messing with married men. If she can do that to someone else, she’s no one that I would ever really hang out with. She’s on TV and doesn’t feel bad messing with a married man. How dumb can you be? Those vows are sacred.
ESSENCE.COM: Definitely. So, are you still the queen bee of the cast and would you do another season?
SHEREE WHITFIELD: That’s definitely still my character. However, this season they have honed in on different aspects of my personality as well. As for another a season, I probably would.

Does this woman not realize that everything she does and says is on flim? She was friends with Kim last year, she knew she was with Big Papa,and she didn’t care then, all of the sudden, she calls her out for it?? Sheree started the mess on the Ellen show, and looked like a complete fool doing it, Kim stuck up for herself. I don’t agree with what Kim has done, but really it’s not my life, it’s hers, and these “ladies” need to remember that. They all( with the exception of Kandi) live in glass houses, they should not be throwing stones!!
I was thinking “Good for her!” when she said she might move to NY to pursue her fashion line more seriously. NY would be a better fit for Sheree. But then she had to open her mouth and out comes the ugly. Sheree is the one that is TRASH. I cannot stand a hypocrit and that woman is disgusting with her judgmental holier than thou attitude when she’s nothing but a gold digging man-armed wannabe designer who can’t even draw or sew. Her unkindness towards others makes her so unlikable. Hope the show replaces her with someone who can get along with ANYONE else. Sheree can just blow kisses at that wall size painting of herself, lol. Noone else loves her, that’s for sure!
The rumor floating around is SheMAN’s contract with Bravo won’t be renewed so of course she’s going to pretend she had a fabulous reception from the fashion industry and she’s planning to move. The fashion industry could like fleas glued to the collar of brown shirts but if the consumer isn’t buying it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks. The bottom line in the fashion industry is the almight dollar and it speaks volumes as to the failure or success of a line.
When referrin to Kim’s relationship with Big Poppa SheMAN stated “If she can do that to someone else, she’s no one that I would ever really hang out with.” If that is the case what was she doing hanging out with her, she knew it at the time, it didn’t appear to be a secret among Kim’s so-called friends.
SheMAN’s fashions are fashionLESS. She’s a failure at so many things, fashion designer has already been added to the long list.
KissMyTiara, we get it. But really…you think Sheree is a man? And if you don’t…why call her SheMAN?
The cost of her clothing is ridiculous. The quality so-so. The designs nothing inventive. I wish her much luck in improving her brand!
My problem with Sheree is that she brags on herself so much its a turn off… and the painting.. wow! Where in the world is she going to hang that thing? I mean the size of the portrait is “gross”… I can only imagine what it must have cost Dave. How many people would the cost have fed? She is trying to keep secret her 22 yr old daugther, bounced checks and other facts? Why does she judge someone else so much when she has things she should be ashamed of as well. In this world of computers, cell phones, etc. there are no secrets… the ladies should have thought of that before going on a reality show. Some of these facts are discussing! They all have “ghosts” in their closets. As we all do… just not broadcast on tv, etc. Sheree is a beautiful woman but when continually tell everyone at every chance she gets?
KissMyTiara – WOW! I hope that’s not true! I’m not crazy about Sheree, but she it seems like she (as are they all) is really trying to up her “talk about” factor and bring the drama. Probably because of the success of Nene as the “breakout star/QueenBee” of the series last season and the high ratings, everyone is under pressure to “perform” to keep their spot. They must have their eye on someone to replace her (a well-known person). That, or either she pissed someone at Bravo off and they’re taking it out on her contract.
Judging from what I’ve read, all the women, except maybe Kandi, need the check (supposedly $30K per episode).
The thing about Sheree’s possible move to NY is that NY is every bit as expensive as Atlanta, and more. If Sheree can’t support herself in Atlanta, then how is she going to do it in NY? Especially minus the Bravo paycheck? I see her angling to stay on the franchise by her keeping “a place in Atlanta”. But I do wonder is she can barely afford to live in 1 house, then how can she afford to live in 2??? Especially since her book sales are slow too (like Nenee’s) and NO ONE has yet to buy her clothes for any major (or minor) retailers. Sheree doesn’t even have a website like Michael Knight where she can showcase her entire line and sell a few choice pieces while having a place to hock her other wares (book, upcoming exercise video?). Nowadays, it’s just foolish to NOT unveil a website either before or in tandem with a product drop-you cut your ability to build suspense and allow the consumer to gain direct access to the product for information or acquisition.
At this point, maybe Nenee should get a low-end line together for big(ger) girls and sell it at low-end or online retailers like Dr. Jays, Rainbows, Dots, Simply Fashions and cater it to the urban woman. There’s power in numbers. If all the RHO-Atlanta women banded together to sell their wares on some outlet like QVC, HSN or even an event like the Black Expo, then they collectively could save on any overhead, marketing, publicity, etc. These women need to get past being “cordial” with each other and get really real about this opportunity to make money. Looks like Kandi will be the ONLY one to actually PROFIT from being on this show. Her EP drops next week.
