Jon Gosselin reveals he and estranged wife Kate Gosselin will be spending Christmas together with their eight kids.
In a new interview with PopEater, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad says that everything will remain the same for his eight children despite his problems with Kate, so that “they have the sense of security with everything that’s going on.”
Jon, 32, says he doesn’t expect any showdowns with Kate, 34, adding that they both plan to stick to tradition. The kids “do the stockings early Christmas morning,” he says. “Kate makes sticky buns. We keep it all the same. Nothing has changed. That way they have the sense of security with everything that’s going on.”
He adds, “This year, there’s a lot of paparazzi, so who knows? Every year it’s different.”
In other news, Jon filmed a ‘funny’ video for the website – funnyordie.com. Jon spoofs himself by poking fun at his Ed Hardy, club-going ways, vowing to go back to his “righteous” roots. “For the past few months, I’ve been looking back and thinking, ‘Man, this is not me…’” Jon says in the video. “I just want to go back to the normal, simple life like I used to have.”

If only it was that easy Jon. Sorry but your rep is permanently scarred and there’s nothing you can do about it. Christian Audigiere broke ties with you, not the other way around. Michael Lohan sold you out. Your family wants nothing to do with you and will probably treat you like a stranger at Christmas. Your just a dork. Always have been, always will be.
I wonder if anyone has bothered to explain to Jon-the-dim-witted that doing the video, as comical as it is, will do little to actually turn back time for him. He didn’t just toss aside the “normal, simple life” to which he wishes to return. He nuked it into oblivion.
I can’t imagine what meds Kate will have to take to mutter through sharing a Christmas with OctoBoy. There isn’t enough Xanax available for such a forcefully contrived event. And his sudden concern that the kids feel that “nothing has changed” screams, “My idiot lawyer told me to say that”, especially since the backlash of his big announcement of spending Thanksgiving with his Hailey and her family.
This whole Christmas setup is merely another weak attempt to mend his shattered image. Kate probably feels that she has no choice but to allow him to shares Christmas Day with her and the children, lest he start throwing more mantrums vilifying her to the press.
It must be excruciatingly embarrassing to have once been in love with Jon enough, not only to have married him, but to have had eight children by him. It’s not enough to say he’s changed, because at least a large kernel of who he is now must’ve always been present. Kate did no favor all those years she was apparently protecting Jon from himself.
With Hailey supposedly dissing him, you have to wonder if Jon could actually be contemplating crawling back to Kate. The boy does love to keep his storyline zipping along.
