We recently wrote about the downside of appearing on a reality show such as the Real Housewives of Orange County. The first downside being that your ‘perfect’ marriage that you pride yourself on will come off as being not so perfect in front of millions of viewers, while your husband’s cutesy behavior might come off as being somewhat controlling.
The second downside it seems is skeletons from your closet being unveiled. New housewife on the block, Alexis Bellino, is now experiencing this as her first husband, Jeff Barry, is spilling all sorts of sordid details about the couple’s first marriage and nasty divorce to Star magazine. And oh yeah, there are pictures too.
In the latest issue of Star magazine, it is revealed that Alexis and Jeff got married back in 2002 after 3 years of dating. The Missouri college sweethearts would later go on to divorce in 2003 after just 15 months of marriage. Reasons for their divorce includes infidelity, boozy brawls, computer hacking, physical threats and missing money. “We had been college sweethearts in Missouri,” Jeff, 31, a sales e ngineer, tells Star. “I never dreamt back then that things between us could turn so ugly.”

- The couple moved to San Diego shortly after their 2002 wedding. “We were young and didn’t have a lot of money.” says Jeff. “Then Alexis…started hanging out with trust fund babies. Having the right pair of expensive jeans became important to her.”
- Eventually, Jeff discovered his wife was having an affair with a wealthy father of three she met at the gym.
- “I gave Alexis endless opportunities to fess up, but she kept denying everything,” says Jeff. “Then she said she needed her space, moved into her own place and asked me to go to therapy with her. But she only went twice, she made no effort at all.”
- Jeff pretended to be a friend of Alexis’s and started emailing her under false pretenses. His suspicions were confirmed that Alexis was indeed sleeping with the married wealthy man.
- Jeff then sent a mass email out to couple’s friends and family, in which he referred to Alexis as a “gold-digging homewrecker,” and a “$2 whore.“
- In the divorce filing, Jeff said of Alexis, “She can be an extremely mean, irrational drunk… She once took off her top in front of my best man to make me mad because she was upset that I smoked a cigarette.”
The couple’s divorce was finalized in June 2004. According to Jeff, he hasn’t had any contact with Alexis in four years.
“I’m not surprised she ended up on a show like Real Housewives,” says Jeff, who is now remarried. “She just seems to have even bigger boobs, a nose job and blonder hair now.”
According to Star magazine, Alexis declined to comment on this article.

Out of all the Housewives on TV, Alexis is my least favorite. I think she is mean spirited and one of the rudest woman on TV. What she and Jim did to Peggy and her husband at their dinner party was beyond unforgivable. First of all if you know you are not going, DON’T ACCEPT!! Then for Alexis to act like a 3 year old was the most selfish behavior I have ever seen. I love the show, but I wish she and Jim would take their fake religious butts and leave the show. Her fake boobs, too much makeup and over bleached hair show her true character. I believe her exhusband.
I couldn’t agree more Marian (post 211). Although I’m from the UK I’ve been able to keep up with the current series online. Peggy should have kicked her out of the dinner party, but then again she’s more of a lady than Alexis will ever aspire to be.

All of the women featured on these reality shows are clearly lacking in intellectual qualities. Bravo has the last laugh …. all the way to the bank. They are clearly capitalizing on the idiocy of many – the participants and the viewers who are so blown away at the ignorant factor, they can’t wait to watch. Why? Because everyone LOVES a trainwreck!
About the only thing real about Alexis are those fake boobs, she really needs to dump her pimp of a husband.

It’s horrible the way Alexis treats Peggy! As far as a word to describe Jim…I don’t have one. He is manipulative, rude, a complete ass that treats women like possessions. Well…what can I say? Alexis’ first husband may have seized opportunity to cash in on RHOC drama too maybe. Also, people don’t always marry for the right reasons anyway and in alot of cases, the woman is MORE in love with the idea of being married than actually in love with being A WIFE to a man she’s suppose to love. So, assuming that Alexis’ ex-husband’s statements are true (and frankly I wouldn’t put it pass Alexis), marrying straight out of college may have been “ideal” as far as Alexis was concerned but not the reality she received after she married. Therefore, Alexis (in an immature manner) did whatever she could to give her husband just cause to let her go, and meanwhile Alexis went out to “have fun” and reinvent herself in the process to what she thought would be a good move for her, in order to get MORE out of life…..and of course I’m talking in terms of social and financial status. Otherwise, what would be the point in reinventing herself in the manner she went about it? But….as I always say, there’s a thing called karma and irony….looks like the word on the street is hers and her current husband’s house is in foreclosure and looks like all that “money” is not what she thought or what he has…go figure. P.S…..I had to think back here…did he say they were COLLEGE sweethearts? Alexis went to college?….Why in goodness name is she so ditsy and frankly behaves like a high school drop out? I mean if I remember correctly, Vicki didn’t go to college, but the way HER demeanor and work ethic is, she sure as hell would have ME convinced that she’s a college graduate in comparison to Alexis.
Now that Jim has decided to have nothing to do with “those people,” do you think Alexis will continue as a housewife? She can’t attend social gatherings without him (even with her pocket gay) without getting emotional. Other than being the poster child for hypocrisy, what does she really offer?
Did Alexis’s continued attempts at one-upmanship toward Peggy remind anyone of the SNL character played by Kristen Wiig? No matter what anyone says, she (Kristen) comes back with how her kid is smarter, her list is bigger, etc.

I met Alexis and her first husband from work. I worked there when they first moved to California and remember when they were splitting up. The information in Star sounds about right from what I remember. The company where I worked at the time, had a 3 day meeting where spouses could attend. This was about a year before they split. She and her husband had just moved to La Jolla that week. It was July 2002, she had a big diamond ring and was talking about how she wanted a bigger one in front of her husband. They were recently married. She lacked poise and tact. She was not intentionally mean, but did not think about how she sounds. She had fake boobs then too. Her lips were not injected with anything then. I turned through the channels and saw her. I took another look and it was her. Her face looks similar, hair is lighter and she got.another boob Job. She did not seem happy though for someone recently married when I met her. 8

Let’s see, Gretchen is good even though she hangs out with deadbeat dad, and doesn’t insist he take care of or see his sick son. Alexis is good even though she is materialistic, mean, a gold-digger, and uses God to suit her purposes, as well as a fame addict. Tamra has a foul mouth, bad temper, but left a husband that everyone felt was controlling. Peggy comes on wants to tell Alexis about her and Jim in the past, but he tells her she better never do it, but according to Alexis, it isn’t Jim’s fault. Vicki dumps Don, who was been brow beaten by her, and instead of working it out, she just works constantly. Now tell me again, why we are watching these pathetic and disgusting women? Tamra is a witch. She is always talking about Alexis and Gretchen and they are two of the most sweetest people I have ever seen. Keep kt up don’t ever let anyone of those idiots bring you down. Tamra and Vicky are just evil and disputing people.
It’s never acceptable for any spouse to cheat, but at the same time I don’t feel much pity for this guy. I live in San Diego, and his type is a dime a dozen. I’ve seen it time and time again with male coworkers, friends, etc. They go for the trophy, gold-digging women, because normal non-trophy women aren’t good enough. Then when they get burned, suddenly everyone is supposed to have pity. Aleixs was wrong, but he knew what he was getting himself into when he put a ring on it!
Oops, I forgot to add…they may have met before San Diego, but Alexis already had that California look to her before they got here.
