Michael Voltaggio has been crowned the new winner of Top Chef’s Season 6.
Michael beat out the other 2 finalists, his brother Bryan Voltaggio, and Kevin Gillespie, a chef from Atlanta. Michael was named the Top Chef champ after serving the judges an impressive four-course menu in California wine country that showed his creativity and technical talent.
Kevin was the first sent home out of the final 3, leaving the two brothers to battle it out for the win. At the end of the day, the judges felt Michael was the stronger of the two.
Michael wins $225,000 in cash and merchandise, a spread in Food & Wine magazine and a showcase at the annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado. “I wish both of us could win,” Michael said of his brother, breaking into tears when their mother walked out.
TELL US – WERE YOU HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS? WHO WERE YOU ROOTING FOR?

Well considering I hadn’t watched this episode of TC on my DVR yet, I am not excited that it’s already spoiled for me!!
Happy for Michael, he was in total shock when Padma announced it, and I think the whole experience may have humbled him a bit
I wanted his brother to win or Kevin. I did not like Michael at all!
I agree with Brenda. Michael was so disdainful of the other chefs abilities that I found him insufferable. Kevin and Bryan were humble and talented. I would have been happy if either one of them won.
Michael was my choice to win.
As well as the final creatively elegant dishes, his wine train dish of grape leaves, coucous, scallops and grapes on the vine were brilliant.
CONGRATS Michael!
I was surprised that Michael beat his brother Bryan, but I liked them both.
I don’t think Michael was any more arrogant or condescending than Season 3 winner, Hung, and he was certainly more deserving than last season’s “winner”, Hosea!
I’ve gone from loving this show to losing all interest. It was better before professionals became the norm.
