The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Gretchen Rossi and boyfriend Slade Smiley took Slade’s son Grayson Alexander Arroyo-Smiley Christmas shopping in Hollywood, CA.
As we have previously reported, little Grayson suffers from an inoperable brain tumor. You can read about Grayson and his mom (Michelle Arroyo) at Amazing Gray.
It was reported last month that Slade owes over $80,000 in back child support to Grayson’s mom, who also accused Slade of not spending enough time with his sick son. But I’m certain these non staged paparazzi photos has anything to do with that story.

I’m usually a fan of Gretchen’s outfits but I’m not sure what she was smoking when she put this gettup together. She looks stuffy.
I said this before. She has amazing eyes. I like the way she dresses. I guess all the stuff about Slade not seeing his son can now be put to rest. I dont even like the guy but I feel some of the attacks are presumptuous.
I think Gretchen is going to be a good mom to some child someday. Dispite what you think of her, she’s displayed the motherly nurturing side in last season with Jeffs kids and with her dogs and she does seem like she’d be able to discipline as well (convo’s with Jeff’s kids). She’s holding Slade’s kids hand in one photo and then got her hand on his shoulder in another…..never saw Jo touch one of Slade’s kids at all………….
I like Gretchen and hope her and Slade make it- if they do, I’m sure Gretchen will push to get the boy more often and the child can have more of a relationship with his father. Go Gretchen Go!
Are you kidding me Mark. You see 1 photo of this snake and he must be a good father. He owes his wife $80 grand. Instead of trying to bed every oc housewife so he can get on tv. Why doesn’t he get a real job. He had 1 before the housewives aired on tv. But I guess that job was not televised on tv. He is a slime no matter how many pictures he uses of his son.
So I guess this means actions are stronger that words?

I dont remember saying he was a good dad. I said I guess the talk that he never see’s his child is now gone. I see a few pictures not just one if that matters to you, lol.
Sometimes people have great jobs that pay a lot so their child support is a lot. Then when they lose that job they cant continue at such a high rate. If he has not made some sort of agreement with his ex wife and the court I figure he would be in jail. I dont know how much he still owes if anything. It is not my business. I remember seeing his kids on the show and he seemed like a good dad. I have no reason to stand up for him. I’m not a fan of his. I just wont attack the guy over things that I do not know and that are none of my business. Thats for Slade, his ex, his son and the courts. My guess is they have made some sort of agreement since he is obviously spending time with his son.
Leave it to good ‘ol Slade Slimey to stage a photo-op with his son to show that he is a good dad. I would love to hear what Grayson’s mother has to say about him. What a couple of fame-whoring losers!
This is nothing but a photo op put together to calm the criticism of how Slade doesn’t see or support his child.
I’m not buying into it. He scheduled a visit so he could be seen in public taking Grayson shopping with paparazzi in tow. Yeah. That’s some great father there. And because Gretchen is holding his hand, people automatically ASSume she’s going to be a good mother?

LOL a staged photo op? Any proof of that or just baseless negative speculation as usual? Looks like he and Gretch took the kid out to some sort of party or shopping. First he doesnt see him. Now its just a staged photo op. Next it will be well he never lets the kid outside.
It looks like they paraded the kid up and down Rodeo until somebody noticed. Gretchen has no fashion sense. With all the money she has you would think she would be able to put a decent outfit together. They seem really overdressed and bundled up to be toy shopping in Cali. Please. I bet the kids mother is fuming about it.
Mark, you are grasping at straws, trying so hard to defend Gretchen and even Slade. Sounds really strange coming from a guy. Slades back child support is public record. Try again.
Puhp why wouldnt a guy “defend” Gretch. Are you Vicki now and only females are allowed? I like her. I dont need to defend her. She hasnt done anything wrong in my book. The better question would be why are you so obsessed with trying to convince other people she is a bad person? I know why Tamra is obsessed. I know why Jay is obsessed. Why are you? It is public record that Slade owed. That doesnt mean he hasnt worked things out with the courts and his ex since then. If he hasnt I would think he would be in jail not spending time with his son. My girlfriend also owed in the past. Sometimes things happen like in my girlfriends case a nasty accident. She has since paid off in full.
The court documents dated 11/6/2009 posted in radaronline state that Slade has not made a child support payment in OVER A YEAR!!!!
One outing with his sick son does not erase the fact that Slade is not paying his child support. Bad economy? BAH, Slade is not even trying to get a job with a paycheck. Been on holiday for the last six months he has.

Things happen? What nasty accident? Puh-leaze Mark. What has happened in Slade’s life that renders him incapable of getting a job?
I cant speak for Slade. My girlfriend had a nasty accident where she could not work or take care of her kids for almost a year. She was in the hospital for many months. She had surgeries to repair her wrist, foot, ankle, back and collar bone. She went over an overpass. She still has major pain and will never be the same but she has come a long way.
Slade should pay his child support. If he is not paying anything then I have to assume he will be put in jail sooner or later unless some sort of arrangement is worked out with his ex wife and the courts.
If I was Grayson’s mother or the judge, I would cut Slade NO slack until he gets a JOB, a real job. Slade used to have a job in the mortgage industry and used to make an awesome amount of money, then his life took a detour into Reality World Fantasyland and he’s still there broke as a joke with his reputation getting worse by the day.
Sure the economy sucks right now and Slade would be very hard-pressed to get a job that pays six figures, but come on, he can get a real job to start climbing the ladder in the real world, show the judge he’s trying his best to earn an income, and start paying something toward Grayson’s support.
They use a sick little dying child to clear their own names just like Gretchen used that sick dying old man. Some people have no shame.
Gretchen is probably making his child support payments for him.
btw, I agree with the posters who commented about her clothing.
I live here in Cali on the coast and we’ve not had any weather that justifies Gretchen’s clothing. No one here dresses like this even in inclement weather when its raining. Ever.
The hat, the tacky bag, (which looks like she bought it from Kathy VanZeeland on QVC) the rolled-down boots – no one wears this sort of get-up here.
She looks Tyrolean in this get-up and all we need is an Oompa oompa band playing in the background to complete the photo-op.
I don’t think anyone is paying the child support in Slade’s stead. Read the documents, Slade’s arrearage is going up approximately 4K per month.

I was browsing gossip on the Real Housewives and actually had grown to be fond of Gretchen and didn’t understand why there seems to be so much bad vibes surrounding Slade…….then I found a bunch of news items about Slade being out of work, owing almost $100,000 in child support and his young son is seriously ill. I got sick to my stomach. I do not know how much money Gretchen makes, I do not know where Slade’s money comes from, but I do know one thing. I was laid off several months ago and I had made very good income. I lived for my hair extensions, my trips to the spa for mani/pedis, dinners out, beautiful clothes. But you know what?? I cannot in good conscience spend one dime on myself when I have a 14 year old daughter who depends on me for her needs. I have not seen the inside of a hair salon in almost a year, I have not bought one piece of new clothing. It is disgusting to me to see these two parading around in their fancy clothes, obviously manicured when I hear his son is suffering both physically and financially. They should both be ashamed.
