Gag order be damned, Jon Gosselin is refusing to shut up. The Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad spoke to Hollywoodlife about his recent divorce settlement. Apparently he is worried he won’t get to see his children with the new custody rules in place.
In case you’re wondering, yes this does violate the court injunction issued against him by a judge, preventing him from talking to the media. “I don’t want to lose my children,” Jon told HollywoodLife.com. “Kate is taking the kids somewhere [this weekend]. I never know where she’s taking them, but I think I have an idea.”
The genius known as Jon goes on to acknowledge the fact that he is not allowed to speak out publicly during his phone interview. “TLC has a gag order against me,” says Jon.
Kate Gosselin’s lawyer, Mark Momjian, confirms Kate will get the house in Wernersville, Pa., as well as primary custody of their eight children. Jon gets visitation.
Things keep getting worse for Jon, as he was also ordered to start paying child support as part of the divorce settlement. “Yes, part of the arbitration award consisted of a decision on property division and child support,” Momjian told RadarOnline. “And the amount of the child support goes from him to her and not the other way around.”
TMZ confirms this as well saying Jon will be making “huge” child support payments. The amount has yet to be disclosed but TMZ confirms he will paying 5 figures a month. According to TMZ, Jon is in immediate financial trouble and has no way of making the child support payments, as TLC has shut down his ability to take outside jobs.
Jon was also ordered to return every penny of the $235,000 he withdrew from his joint account with Kate. The money was taken directly out of his portion of the divorce settlement. Kate on the other hand did not have to pay back any of the money she withdrew despite Jon’s claims. An arbitrator determined every penny she withdrew was for the benefit of the kids.
OMG, Jon — stop running your mouth and go get a job! You’re the biggest crybaby! No one told you to go on a tangent and sleep with every chick who crossed your path. No one told you to quit your IT job. No one told you to make a total ass of yourself to millions of people. YOU did that all by yourself.
I’m not crazy about Kate, either. Let’s face it — there are 8 kids who were brought into this world by the decisions of Jon and Kate. They both need to shut the hell up, stop whining about how miserable their lives are, and support those children (both financially and emotionally).
Something tells me both Jon & Kate have lost touch with parenting. Most people don’t have reality shows and lucrative freebies thrown at them. Jon & Kate had it easy for a few years, but it’s time to deal with REALITY now, and stop whining. You both wanted those kids, now raise them!!!!
I don’t like this guy but how is he supposed to make money if he can’t make paid appearances in public?
I think Jon has made several mistakes but Kate seems to try and manipulate the public via the media. I think Jon is getting a bad deal. I hope he finds some wise advice from somebody. My biggest concern is the kids because I feel Jon and Kate will be gone from the public eye in 2 years.
Mark, you hit the nail on the head. Everyone should realize how manipulating Kate is. Jon’s no angel, but Kate had to know his shortcomings before she got all those eggs implanted!!!
Jon’s problem is that he wouldn’t take “Good” advice if it were offered to him. I just don’t think he has the intelligence to tell what’s good, sound advice and what’s frivolity.
Those poor kids. They’re behind the 8-ball with these two self-absorbed idiots as parents.

And again, WHY are Kate and her lawyers held to different standards? So they can talk but Jon can’t. She can go on any talk show to trash him and he is not allowed to do the same. There is such a bias it is unreal. I was always against BOTH parents, but they have shafted him so badly and made her out to be an angel that it is impossible to do anything but hope that she will get a huge smackdown by karma!

Jon needs to go see his family in Hawaii and get the best job he can. He will find that if he relaxes, Kate will be busy looking for work too and hopefully get some elocution and public speaking help. IF she wants to be in front of any cameras, she needs a lot of instruction. Her scream and loud laugh need a muffler. They both love their children. John needs to know there are dads all over the world caring for and about children that can not actually be with them. Technology is a good helping hand. Camers and cell phones are plentiful. I see him use them. He needs to know the children need calm incourraging words. Letters typed with spell check are a huge help and something tangable. Once he has a job he can petition the court for a support reduction. It does mean working at a real job and learning about telling the honest truth. Alabyes and excuses just will not do. I WISH BOTH OF THEM WELL, CALMNESS and PATIENCE.
It seems as if many have the same question and confusion regarding the TLC injunction. The injunction doesn’t prohibit Jon from working as a private citizen. The TLC contract is in relation to Jon – he’s not a free agent. He cannot *sell* interviews or do public events and get paid without TLC’s permission.
Privately, he can shovel snow (hey there’s an idea), work or sell electronics, work as an IT analyst again, buy a few limos…the possibilities abound! The reality is that Jon Gosselin is able to work and provide for his children. He chose to *market* himself and bet on *fame and big money* at the expense of the family, and his contractual obligations to TLC.
Its snowing in PA, right? Snow removal isn’t a bit investment, Mr. Gosselin. You say you want to provide and be a good father, that you worry that you will lose them, etc., well walk the talk and get busy, Mr. Gosselin.
The bottom line is Jon and Kate signed a contract to do the show this year. That contract was to expire sometime next year. Jon should have waited until the contract expired to pursue other opportunities.
Jon broke the contract by making TLC stop filming the show before the expiration date. That cost TLC alot of money. The company wasn’t going to let that go. In this economic climate, I understand their feelings. No company wants to lose money.
I don’t think Kate is an angel. However, she abided by the terms of the contract. She said they both could make appearances and discuss the show as directed by TLC. Jon didn’t consult with TLC before making appearances. That’s the difference.
If I were Jon, I’d look into getting a job in the IT field again. Perhaps, he won’t live the life of a “reality celebrity” anymore or for awhile. Before TLC fame, he was a regular 9 to 5 worker just like the rest of us. He has IT skills. Use them.
Not sure why folks feel anger that Jon and Kate’s financial lives improved from the J&K + 8 show. I think most people would have jumped at the chance to do the same thing if given the chance. Why struggle to raise 8 kids if the family can participate in a show, work together daily and earn a better living? If this feeling wasn’t, we wouldn’t have shows like Big People, Little World, 19 Kids and Counting, Table for 12, Raising Sextuplets, etc.
I feel bad for the kids. Divorce is always tough on little kids no matter the financial situation of the parents.
Jon is 2009′s biggest idiot! Kate is 2009′s Best Mom. All is well inthe world. Jon got exactly what he dserved & so did Kate, she got the house, most of the money(she worked for it, he whined) and child support. Jon truthfully couldn’t care less about those kids or he wouldn’t have acted like he did. Jon finally proved that it is possible to SCREW YOURSELF!
I feel so bad for those poor children with those awful parents. The dad is a scumbag looser. The mom only cares about making it to become famous and make more and more money. Thankfully TLC has moved on from this awful show. Word is Jon will join Celeb Rehab Sex Addicts Season 2!

Rarely do our judicial courts in civil matters end up doing what most of the public thinks should be done, so the court’s decisions in the Gosselin divorce case come as quite a satisfying surprise.
Most surprising, to me anyway, is that Jon was granted only visitation rights and not equal custody. Also pleasingly surprising was that the house was given only to Kate with Jon retaining no interest in it whatsoever.
How on earth he is going to come up with the rumored five figures a month in child support is the big question. How he is going to repay the entire $235,000 he removed from their joint account is another.
The best thing that could happen for Jon right now would be for “The Surreal Life” to be revived and that he manage to get a slot on there along with Michael Lohan, Chris Brown, David Hasselhoff, and return engagements for faves Brigitte Nielson, and Janice Dickenson. I’d certainly watch it!
As for those convinced that Jon got shafted by the courts and are concerned about the children, the courts know more than we’ll ever know about what has really gone down behind the scenes and I imagine some things have been sealed or withheld in order to protect the children.
Jon has worked mighty hard for over a year now to shaft himself. He needed no help from the courts to do that. And, for all we know, the judicial system might be giving him a break in order to protect his kids from further embarrassment that even worse publicity could bring if certain things about him came to light.
It’s refreshing to see that there are a few cool heads and clear thinkers on here when it comes to Jon & Kate & the Eight.
Kate got the house, Jon got equal value in stocks or cash as PA is a 50/50 asset split state. The custody of the kids never changed from what it was when they were separated. Legal custody is joint, Kate always had ‘primary’ physical custody with Jon getting liberal visitation — none of that has changed.
The one hurt by the court ruling was Jon who supposedly had offers for Super Bowl ads which often pay in the millions and who has been muzzled by the ruling. I’m thankful Jon talked when he did and exposed the little he did about TLC and their heavy-handed tactics. At least now we know the lengths they’ll go to control their ‘actors’. We have also seen how big money talks and how the little guy has no chance against a goliath. I’m waiting for April ’10 to hear both sides of this case when it goes before a jury!
Re The little guy…he blew it. He has no one to blame but himself. Why should he be rewarded for those antics. He needs to stop blaming others and in regards to his statement that he doesn’t know *where Kate is taking the kids*. The untruths coming from this guy are sad. Stop playing the victim and start taking responsibility for all the stupid decisions.
This isn’t a story of little guy versus goliath…what absurdity. This is a story of a boy who refuse to grow up.
As another reply states, he received his fair share from this divorce. Stop playing victim and open your eyes, Mr. Gosselin. There are people that are struggling to support families on much less, taking care of kids that have health problems, etc., there are REAL struggles out there and fine people are dealing with those problems every day.
