Frank Curtin, husband of Lynne Curtin of the Real Housewives of Orange County, has a perfectly good reason for skipping out on his mandatory court date in an Orange County courthouse Tuesday for a $1.2 million judgment they were ordered to pay to a former business partner.. He sort of forgot.
In a new interview with RadarOnline, Frank attempts to explain what happened. “I just sort of forgot to go because of the Christmas season,”said Frank who is planning to set a new appointment on Wednesday.
And though a bench warrant (a form of arrest warrant) was issued for the couple on Tuesday, don’t expect to see them in handcuffs anytime soon. “A bench warrant was issued on December 21st,” a court source tells Radar. “But it’s on hold until January 27th. As long as they show up at court by that date there will be no live warrant for them. If they don’t show by then then the warrant will be active and they will be arrested.”
Frank does acknowledge that this has been a very tough year for him, “My business all went south and I have been trying to work my way out of it. In the last 4 years I have lost everything, and I went through some really hard times.” He continues, “This has been the worst year of my life.”
Frank goes on to defend Lynne, saying the lawsuit had nothing to do with her, and she should have never been named in the lawsuit. “I don’t want her to get hurt,” Frank said about Lynne, “I feel bad for her.”

My guess is that Lynne is listed as co-owner or a partner in Frank’s business. She reaped the benefits of success when times were good and could have listed “business owner” on her resume.
Any plaintiff’s attorney is going to name all business owners to a company when filing suit against them.
Goes with the territory, Frank. You should know this. Grow up.
If you wanted to protect Lynne, you should have kept her name off of the partnership, corporation, sole proprietorship, etc.
Any husband with an ounce of intelligence would have instructed his attorney filing with the Secretary of State to do this from the get-go. Duh!
I agree Scarlette. I think Lynne was probably put on the incorporation papers just to protect her rights in case of death and Frank probably never thought about this kind of scenario. I doubt Lynne was an active partner in the business. I even feel bad for Frank in this situation. It sounds like his whole life has caved down on him. I bet the show did not help him in that regard. One thing I would say about Frank is that xmas season excuse for forgetting court comes up kind of empty.
Hi Mark:
You make some good points and I do think Lynne was not an active partner in Frank’s business, however, if he has the sense to run a business, you’d think that he would have thought of construction defect suits (which occur frequently), breach of contract suits, or other litigation which he would have wanted to protect Lynne from.
As much as I feel sorry for Frank (I really do even though I know I’m being hard on him), he really should have prepared for business downturns – those do happen – and he should have known that the real estate good times in 2002-2007 could not have possibly lasted mathematically.
Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year to all
~Scarlette
btw, Frank and Lynne have another Unlawful Detainer action against them. This means they are being evicted *again.*
Orange county Court case number: 30-2009-00312377-CL-UD-HLH
Robbins versus Curtin, Frank
Mark is probably right that Lynne was an owner in name only, but I doubt Frank listed Lynne to protect her interests. I’ll bet Mark listed her as an owner because female-owned small businesses get a lot of tax breaks and government incentives.
These two are just too Beverly Hillbilly for me.
LOL Mark did not list her as anything but a nice lady on a TV show.
Happy holidays to Scarlette and everyone else.
Frank “forgot” the court date? Lynne didn’t remember either? These people are truly off the deep end. I guess they are just so busy not working, being evicted, and running around getting plastic surgery. You gotta wonder who the heck is advising them?
He forgaot a court date to pay 1.2 million because of Christmas? I can understand that. I really can. I was at Walmart and it was really busy and I forgot to do a bunch of things. He was probably at Walmart trying to save a few bucks after his wifes plastic surgery. After he pays that he can go pay his two previous landlords he stiffed. i am sure they don’t mind waiting. Their mortgages mean nothing compared to his wifes and daughters elective plastic surgery
That house they rented was much more than what they needed. Her surgery was a bad investment. Nobody will give him any work now, and the family counseling was a waste of time and money.
Their lives are going to be hell now b/c they had to act like upper class snobs. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for any of them, including their snotty self absorbed daughters.
wow you have had a bad year? Are you serious? How could you let your wife and daughter have plastic surgery if money was so short this year? I don’t understand people like this.. you wanna know what’s a rough year? People are losing there jobs and have no money for food or any money for their babies xmas presents not no damn oh sorry we can’t shop as much and might have to drive a ford instead of a BMW hello!!!!!!!!!!!
get a life people pay what you owe there is other people out there having harder times than you.
Hey Lynne! I hate to be so blunt but you really are clueless. I just caught up on the last couple of shows that I have missed. You were completely out of line with Gretchen. You took offense because you realize that you really are not a good parent. You have even admitted that in some of your shoes. Your daughters talk to you? You know every aspect of their lives? HA. If that was true, why hired a complete stranger to come into your home and ‘talk’ to your daughters? YOUR OWN DAUGHTER TOLD THIS STRANGER THAT YOU DON’T LISTEN TO HER. Why would it seem odd that she said the SAME thing to Gretchen? Uhhhh, did you forget that you had that on an episode? Yeah, watching current show now….yep, you know every aspect of your daughters life…….that’s why you are looking for her RIGHT now……..clueless, clueless, clueless.
Also, pay your bills. Rather than buying plastic surgery (that believe me is NOT working) pay your bills. 4 eviction notices? Come on really? 11:27 a.m.
Wow, this episode is funny. It’s pretty dang obvious that you DON’T know your kids……wow, daughter just called you out again…..
Hey, Great job!!!!! You should have not been so witchy to Gretchen….she hit the nail on the head about you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frank, you forgot the court date? must run in the family….
Maybe the court will let them trade their two brat daughters instead of the settlement? I’d willingly give up those two little freaks in exchange for a clean slate. Wow – I can only watch about 25 seconds of any episode with them in it.
Moms and Dads out there – this is a good lesson. If you mentally “drift” through life, you’ll go through trouble after problem, and have freaks for kids. Use your brains and put down the pot!
