In a shocking bombshell, RadarOnline is reporting that Simon Barney, husband of Tamra Barney of The Real Housewives of Orange County has filed for divorce.
Even more shocking? Simon is accusing his wife of infidelity. This is quite ironic as tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of OC deals with the couple’s marital troubles.
In the divorce papers Simon wrote: “Petitioner contends that Respondent has been verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and infidelity.” According to a source close to the couple, Tamra reportedly moved out of their million dollar home earlier this week and into a two-bedroom apartment.
Simon and Tamra have been married for 11 years. They have three children together in addition to Tamra’s son from a previous marriage. “Simon has simply had enough,” the source said. “The show changed her.” The source adds that though they had been having marital problems for the past couple of years, Tamra did not know that Simon was filing divorce papers, even after she moved out of their home.
It is interesting to see Simon accuse his wife of being unfaithful as viewers know Tamra has been very vocal and critical of fellow cast member Gretchen Rossi, claiming Gretchen cheated on former fiancé Jeff Beitzel.

UPDATE: A rep for Bravo tells UsMagazine that Tamra has “no comment” at this time . She will however be opening up next week on Bravo. “She is going to share her story first on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Show hosted by Andy Cohen, airing next Thursday at midnight.”

I’m not surprised at all. Gosh, Tamra can be one hateful, spiteful woman. We’ve all seen her in action. I think when you put yourself out in the public’s eye as all these families do, it is very unhealthy for families and relationships in general. Perhaps everyone can learn from this.
Anyone who watches the show can clearly see that Simon is a control-freak. I think Tamra will be better off without him. As far as infidelity goes, I doubt he has any proof only his insecurities. I mean he’s vocalized himself that they rarely go anywhere without each other. He’s delusional. He thought his relationship was “perfect” when the rest of America could clearly see that it was only perfect to him so long as Tamra obeyed and served him and didn’t talk back. Give me a break!
Simon needs to man up and stop trying to blame Vicki G. for the breakup of his marriage unless the last few episodes were scripted and Simon was only “acting” like a dickhead.

Tamra is so in love with HERSELF! I love Gretchen. Tamra is so hateful. But her hubby is the most depressing and unhappiest man I have ever seen!
I understand this is television, but Tamra would be so much better off with out Simon. Have been there, seen that,and he is a controlling man. She needs to stop stabbing Vicki in the back and being two faced. She will need her, because i doubt any of the other housewives will. Gretchen is to stupid, Lynne is from another plant and Alexis better not or her husband just might lose his mind,she is in the same type relationship. Take the blinders off.

Simon is clearly very unhappy with losing his income and the results it has brought, BUT he does not have to take it out on his wife.
He is rude and insulting to her every chance he gets. Tamra is not perfect, she has her moments, but Simom is so cruel to her on the show.
He needs to know it does not take being wealthy to be a good husband, it takes love and understanding.
I think he wants off the show because he feels ‘less of a man’ since he lost his money. This is not the way to do it, he is taking it out on Tamra and that’s the worst thing he could do.
Simon wants Tamra to grovel and then he makes fun of her when she does. He is a control freak and I hope he gets it together before it’s too late. He’s losing a woman who loves him and not just for his money. Tamra hang in there.
Yeah, good for Tamra! Simon is a loser and too strict for his wife. He is very rigid and difficult to communicate with as seen on RHOC. Tamra will have a dificult time for awhile, as divorce is painful, but she will come out better for this as time passes. We support you Tamra and you will come out better off than to be with a stick up his *** husband. Just keep supporting your children with all the love you have, try to be amicable with Simon at least in front of the kids and move on! As for Simon he needs some subservient, low esteem woman that he can boss around and one who has no thoughts of her own, but thinks just like he does about everything. He can’t handle an independent woman because then he has to bend and that’s too difficult for him with that stick up his ***.
I thought Simon was so drab and controlling. He had no personality and came across very insecure and unhappy.
I don’t think Tamra is an angel but I think she can do better and be happier without Simon nit picking everything she did.

To me divorce is always sad and disappointing. BUT I am not surprised that these two are getting divorced. Tamara is mean spirited and very shallow. Her “friendship” with Vicki is really odd too. I can see why Simon would want a divorce. Tamara was happy and content with him when he was bringing in the money. BUT now that he is suffering financially she is so out of there! It is odd that these housewives are having such huge financial problems. The show should have been called Who has the most debt in Orange County?

Tamra seems to criticize everyone on the show and always wants you to believe that she has the perfect marriage……BARF !! The only REAL housewife is Gretchen – she says it like it is and isn’t phoney. Vicki has also got to goooooooo….what a waste of film when she is on the screen. UGH !!!

How many times does Tammy (her real name) have to say “I’m a free bitch!” Seriously…those are NOT the words of a devastated, torn woman, who really loves her children and husband!!!!! She had a plan for quite a while and was just waiting for the right time to act on it. I really feel “Tammy” is a weak, insecure, selfish individual!! For a woman who is STILL crying over her parents divorce…she literally JUMPED at separating with Simon!!! Aren’t her kids crying now? So selfish…really!!!!!
