Nicole and Evan Sizzle On DWTS Premiere, Kate Gosselin Bombs

dwts-10

Dancing With The Stars premiered last night on ABC, and while some stars sizzled, others were rather average, or downright bad.

The top score of the night went to Pop star Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough , as the duo earned 25 points out of 30 from the judges by doing the waltz. Olympic champion figure skater Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya came in second with 23 points by also doing the waltz.

Nicole and Evan lived up to all expectations as the two were the early favorites going in. Now onto the bad, as reality star Kate Gosselin didn’t do so well. The mom of eight earned a poor 16 points for her waltz with partner Tony Dovolani, giving her one of the lowest scores of the night. “It looked like Tony was pushing a shopping cart across the floor. You have to exude something!” exclaimed judge Bruno Tonioli (ouch!).

Other reality star Jake Pavelka surprised judges with his Viennese waltz, earning an okay score of 20. The lowest score of the night went to 80 year old Buzz Aldrin, who received a 14 for his cha-cha. Buzz is the oldest contestant in the history of DWTS.

All of the stars will return next week for another performance. The first elimination will take place next Tuesday.
