When writing this story earlier today about Jill Zarin confirming that Bethenny Frankel delivered a baby boy yesterday, we were very skeptical and careful to not state this as fact. Apparently, we had good reason.
PEOPLE magazine, a more reputable outlet than our good ol Jill, is now confirming that Bethenny, star of the Real Housewives of New York City and her husband Jason Hoppy welcomed a baby girl Saturday morning, as in today, and not yesterday as gossiped reported by Jill.
“Bethenny and Jason are proud to welcome their new baby girl, Bryn Hoppy, born at 8 a.m. . . . in New York City,” the rep says. “She is a 4 lb. 12 oz., healthy baby. Bryn, mom, dad and [their dog] Cookie are all very happy.”
Bethenny and Jason were surprised by the sex of the baby, as they decided not to find out beforehand. As we reported earlier, Bethenny is weeks early and was actually due in June. Hopefully the baby will continue to remain in good health. Congrats to Bethenny and Jason!
UPDATE: So Bethenny has to deal with having her baby prematurely and then thanks to Jill, swerving off rumors that she had a baby boy yesterday. It’s just shocking that after all that’s been said about her on the show, she would still resort to this. Jill has however received some major backlash from fans on her facebook page. Some are below -
“No wonder Bethenny got rid of you as a friend !! She can’t even enjoy a happy moment in her life with out you stealing it from her! this was not your information to Post,” a user named Summer Breaz wrote.
And Christine Marker added, “You really are stuck in Jr High!! The fact that you announced the birth of B’s baby boy is DISGUSTING!! How dare you? You really do need to seek therapy for your need to be center of attention.”
UPDATE #2: Jill has now removed the post, announcing that Bethenny had a boy, from her facebook page, instead posting this explanation for her major fail faux pas. “”Yesterday Allyson read a tweet and blog that Bethenny gave birth. We were excited and congratulated her obviously prematurely. I should have waited until B announced it herself. Sorry.”

@Exposed – you nailed it perfectly! Bravo should be held accountable for GodJilla’s invading what I believe is Bethanny & Jason’s right to announce their baby’s arrival. Also I am sure that Bravo has alot of time and money riding on Bethanny’s new show and it would be foolish for Bravo not to put a cork in GodJilla’s mouth.
@gimmeabreak – you are correct in that nobody was killed but that is as far as it goes. This was not an innocent mistake on GodJilla’s part – it was her attempt to gain attention which is really pathetic.
I wish Bethanny & Jason a lifetime of love and happiness with their baby girl!

I do not have an acct. ither. I just go on like wiiter andy cohen and look at his tweets and look at who he has folowing him and such, it kinda fun. I was just on Simon’s and you can tell he is p’o'ed about Jill.
Why did she feel it was her place to any a word? She had no business at all.. Bethenny didn’t even announce it, but there that Yenta had to open her freakin’ mouth,and be totally wrong on top of it all..
But lets take it one step further what if God forbid something was wrong?

I don’t think Jill thought it was her place…I kinda think she knew damn well that it wasn’t but she wanted to be malicious and vindictive. I think she wanted to take a moment away from Bethany that she can never get back. She knew what she was doing. I also think that they knew jill would do this, which is why she was led to believe it was a boy that way, when she did blab to the press she’d look like a fool.
Hopefully when this season ends, Jill will fade into obscurity. She’s addicted to fame — and works it to her financial benefit whenever she can…Saks, Kodak, getting the 16K purse for free in exchange for mentioning the designer on-air. I think Jill’s been very jealous of Bethenny’s new show and her leaving the RHNYC franchise. It’s only a matter of time before Jill tries to get back with Bethenny so she can get on Bethenny’s new show. I do think Jill’s gravytrain is coming to an end. RHNYC is almost done for the season and attention is moving to the RHNJ show — which is the most watched of all the RH shows. Jill’s book isn’t going to be a big thing. I can’t imagine any major brand or designer is going to be hiring Jill anytime soon to represent them in any way.

I think Ally is just defending her mom…and is willing to take the blame for being the one that gave the info to jill.
Jill is crafty, she’s keeps score, she’s vindictive and she is so bitter that she didn’t get to involve herself in Bethanys pregnancy and tell her what to do and how to do it, so she decided to steal her moment to punish her.
I mean, I could be wrong, but I doubt it…..I have a pretty sensitve bullsh*t meter.

As far as Ally defending her mother. She probably did give her the info.,and really I do not see anything wrong with that,ya know..Jill was wrong with taking that info. to her key board,and should have said.
You’re right Dyana…there’s absolutely nothing wrong with Ally giving her that info, that would only be natural for her to say, hey mom, guess what….so then that begs the question, did jill not bother to confirm it so she could hurry up and announce it herself, or was she just so excited she couldn’t contain herself?

Jill is an evil, vindictive jealous non Christian, she reaps what she sows. Bethenny keep your baby away from this sinister woman she is fraught with peril and will destroy everyone in her wake!
I think Jill likes to be thought of as ‘in the know’ and resents not being the one with all the information. When Alex had her over, Jill was trying to act like she already knew what Alex was telling her about Bethenny’s father. Then after Jill’s “all about me” drama queen moment at the new housewife’s party when Ramona said something about Bethenny’s father dying it later came out that she texted something to Alex about it — again, trying to give the impression that she (Jill) was in the know about Bethenny. Jill knew Bethenny’s father was dying all along — so why was she so upset over it when it happened? And, instead of worrying about Bethenny, she made it all about her(Jill). I do think Jill has finally realized she really f’ed up this season and she knows her future fame depends on her fixing things with Bethenny – and would love to be on her show. I remember reading that Jill in one of her ‘anonymous’ aliases said on a review of the RHNY dvd set that without Jill(her), the show would be nothing. I do hope Bethenny stays away from Jill and moves on.
I read on twitter yesterday that some lady found out who @twatmaxine is, supposedly her name is Maxine Weiss. they said she is from OC, and that she used to tweet about politics under another name @Maxinesplace, but now has directed her attention to bravo…
Jill is so desperately trying to stay relevant. As you can see in the most recent episodes she wants to be “in the loop” with everything -Bethenny or otherwise. Jillousy doesn’t want to be the one bitch left out in the rain, hence why she blasted Ramona for knowing that B’s dad died before She (Jill) knew. Meaning that Jill finally felt excluded from something, and by her posting on FB re: bethenny’s baby being born, she was attempting to let the public know that she is “in” on all news relevant to Housewives and not left out, only to see it back fire, and worst part blame her kid Ally for the mis-information even makes her look worse.
I’m not happy, I’m not happy with her behavior and I really hope Bawby sees who he married this after all of her actions this season

In any event, Jill’s really stuck her foot in her mouth this time. Page Six and anyone else who relies on her for ‘inside’ information will have to think twice before they take anything she says to press. Jill’s definitely the leak to any/all press. I think she really liked being the Queen Bee and knowing all the gossip. She’s probably kicking herself over the whole Bethenny had a boy goof-up — and rightfully so.

If Bethanys husband was upset as he was that the news of her pregnancy was out before they wanted, he must be livid that they didn’t get to announce the birth themselves either.
unless of course, they wanted to teach her a lesson, and had the info fed to her that it was a boy, that way she couldn’t completely steal her thunder.
As far as Jill being “excited” and wanting to congratulate Bethenny, she should do what she says in her book — send a gift and direct her good wishes directly to Bethenny. Jill knows she’s got a facbook following and let’s ‘face’ it, she wanted those who follow her to get the news first. That’s what Jill’s post was designed to do — leave her followers with the sense that Jill gets the news first. Instead it was a big advertisement that Jill just recycles whatever garbage she hears.

&Dyana — the only thing I can think of is that Jill knew if she made a big production it’d end up being on the show and Bethenny would see it and forgive Jill — and forget the whole disagreement. I think Jill regrets the whole fight and now that she’s seen how her image is in the toilet, she is trying to do anything to get Bethenny to forgive her. We’ll see…
I think Ramona was right on the money when she told LuAnn that if she’d not pulled Jill away from the ‘ambush’ with Bethenney, then Jill and B would’ve made up. LuAnn is just a joke these days. Scary to see what kind of guy she ended up with on the last show.

I haven’t posted before, just felt the need to throw in my 2 cents worth. I think Jill definately wants to be the popular girl. She also continually sets herself up to be the victim. I think when Bethenny’s businesses took off, Jill got very envious. When the friendship changed (Ramona was right on, Jill likes the underdog) she was upset and her anger was misplaced. It really is too bad that her mother, with all of that great insight, couldn’t help her work through this. If Jill would have been mature enough to work through her insecurities the friendship would have survived. She was unable to do this throughout the taping of this past season. She needs to do this on reunion show. She is NOT the devil. She has made mistakes. We all do. Let’s give her a way out of this mess.

@ Wendy, the only way for Jill to rectify herself would be to admit her wrong doings. I may be speaking prematurely here as we haven’t seen the whole season or reunion yet, but if she doesn’t come clean about her actions, which blaming one’s daugher is not, then there is no hope for her. I still love Jill on RHONY. I wouldn’t watch it without her. These are all very catty misguided women, but the rest generally acknowledge their faults(my reason I love B). I am the first one to tell everyone, do NOT tell me anything because I will tell everyone. Whether or not you choose to tell me, you can’t be mad at me later for telling everyone. Jill shouldn’t have made a public apolagy for facebooking Bs birth. Then again, I can’t say she called B to apolagize to her privately. Once you actively seek out a public lifestyle, EVERYTHING becomes public. You just have to own up to who you are and what you’ve done. Her only way out of it would be to own up to her mistakes. The bashing though has gotten out of hand, no one is the DEVIL. Then again, she did threaten the well-being of a book reviewer’s pet. So can you blame anyone?

I think we are both saying the same thing. Truthfully, I think Jill suffers from extreme low self esteem and it comes out by being critical of anyone she feels threatened by. Once the novelty of the show wore off (after season one) we saw her true colors. I don’t think she has changed, we are all just seeing her for who she really is. Bethenny is on the receiving end now. If it weren’t B, it would be someone else. -I have to be honest though, I’m on team Bethenny and I love to see know- it- alls like Jill get the A$$’s ripped.

First, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms! yes, that includes Jill and Bethenny
Knowing how Bethenny operates and how far she is willing to go (at any cost) to achieve stardom, I wouldn’t put it pass her to have caused the early baby delivery, in order to fit Bravo’s schedule. After all, the Real Housewives of NY are supposed to be filming the reunion now; there are usually 13 episodes and two weeks for Reunion parts 1 and 2, which puts the schedule just in time for the ‘B Getting Married’ show on June 10.
But now, since this early baby delivery, Bravo may decide to postpone some of the scheduled programs and show re-runs.
Also, I’m surprised that Bravo hasn’t posted any congratulatory messages on their Web site yet.
@Cat – I can’t imagine any woman who has waited so long for the magic moment of delivering your first child to have “PUSHED THE KID OUT” to fit Bravo’s schedule! That is really reaching.

I’m sorry, but the line about Bethany having caused her baby to be born earlier is a bit too far over the line. She is in her forties and has every right in the world to be worried about the health of her baby due to that one factor. To say that she caused the delivery to be born early all under the guise of fitting into Bravo’s timeline? Come on, think about how horrible that comment is and what that makes you sound like. Do we really think that you are that detestable that you would make that kind of statement? Bethany has shown nothing but concern for the health of her baby and for you to publicly make that kind of statement shows your true colors. We may not all like the ladies of the RHNYC and the characters that are shown on the television, but when it comes to something like this, I, personally, think that that comment was out of line.
I’m sorry if my rant offends anyone, but this comment is offensive and horrifying and has NO place being said.
I couldn’t give a shit how offended people are, I think it’s totally within Bethenny’s realm to have the baby early “on purpose”. It’s not unheard of to schedule babies at the mother’s convenience, and there are a lot of OB docs out there who are all too happy to induce labor, even a few weeks early, just to have it fit their schedule.
My sister did that with her youngest. She bugged the doc to induce labor early in April, even though the baby wasn’t due until later in the month — her in-laws were going on a 2-wk vacation on the 15th and she wanted them there when the baby was born. The doc induced labor and my niece was born at 37 weeks — her hip sockets weren’t fully developed and she spent over a year in a harness.
I don’t like Bethenny. I think she’s an opportunist and I don’t believe she loves Jason. She used his sperm to attain her goal of having a baby. I honestly think he’ll be gone in a few years, and her poor daughter is going to have to deal with her resentful, competitive mother without any insulation.
There’s a big part of me that actually agrees with Cat. What unites Bethenny and JZ is far bigger than what divides them – the desperate attempts to stay relevant. I’ve been telling you guys since day one that Bethenny’s dates of meeting Jason and the whole spiel don’t add up. Do I think B would hard her baby just to make headlines? NO Do I think her and Jason’s relationship was rushed to fit filming schedules? Absolutely. Let’s not forget that barely a year ago Bethenny would’ve married a farm animal as long as it resulted in a baby/husband. Do I knock her for trying so desperately to keep people talking? NO. It’s actually brilliant. Reality Stars are known to only have a good 15 minutes so the longer she stays relevant, the longer she can sells Skinnygirl Stuff

I don’t know about Bethenny having the baby early on purpose, to me that seems out there,but hey everyone has their opinion, I just do not see her doing that,and that’s my opinion.
It doesn’t surprise me that Bethenny popped out an underweight baby prematurely. She looked underweight during her entire pregnancy, esp. around the time of her hillbilly wedding. She tried so hard to hide her bump, even going as far as holding a morbidly white bouquet up to her belly, hoping it would blend w/ her dress and disguise it.
The baby was probably wanting more food and wanted out. Now she won’t be able to breast feed w/ her mis-shapen implants. She was too old to have a kid and risked alot going wrong. She set her sights on the first no personality Joe Schmoe who would have her. Jason wanted to make a name for herself and wouldn’t have gotten involved w/ her if she wasn’t on that show.
