Has hell frozen over? Are Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel friends again?
According to a new article by Life&Style, that might be the case with the Real Housewives of New York City stars. An insider at the reunion taping (whom shall be referred to as Susan Saunders, you’ll read why later) gave some reunion show spoilers to the magazine.
Jill The source tells LIfe&Style that Bethenny and Jill came face-to-face for the first time in nine months when the reunion special was taped last Wednesday on May 26.
“Jill extended an olive branch to Bethenny,” says the insider who watched was part of the taping. “Jill seemed very humble and apologized. And she was emotional — of course there were lots of tears. It was a huge turning point for them. Where the relationship goes from here, who knows?”
And as for the fireworks that took place during the reunion? “It was very dramatic,” continues the insider “Kelly was attacked again, Alex was out of control, and Ramona flipped out!”
Now if it wasn’t obvious enough who this “insider” is, the bolded comment should make it pretty obvious that it’s none other than good ol Jill. Something about this entire article has Jill’s little grubby fingerprints all over it. It seems Jill did find a hobby after all – leaking stories to the press that is.
In other news, Bethenny continues to show off her freakish post baby body. The 39-year-old new mom was photographed walking the streets on NYC this weekend looking pretty great. Those photos are below. The NYPost also published a story this weekend claiming Bethenny wanted $100, 000 for her baby pictures, but ultimately gave them to PEOPLE for free when she couldn’t get buyers. Bethenny however denies this in Bethenny fashion telling PageSix, “Actually, it was $100 million.”
My thoughts on Jill & Bethenny - Last season, both Jill and Bethenny started to turn me off with their mean girl behavior. However during the reunion, Bethenny seemed to back off the mean girl act a bit, while Jill continued to be over the top nasty to Kelly, Alex, Ramona and even LuAnn. That pretty much completely turned me off Jill. However when this season started and the Jill & Bethenny feud was making headlines, I thought they were both at fault. I honestly understood why Jill might not want to be friends with Bethenny again and vice versa . I didn’t and still don’t believe Bethenny was a saint in the fued at all.
But I think what turned me off and a lot of fans as well, was Jill’s mean girl behavior in turning Bethenny away. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Jill having a seat down or phone conversation with Bethenny and letting her know she no longer wanted to be friends. The way she went about it was what did her in. The putting Bethenny on speaker phone while crackling with LuAnn in the background was just wrong. I don’t think Bethenny should let Jill back in her life. I think they could be polite acquaintances, but I don’t believe Jill’s reasons for wanting to befriend Bethenny again is sincere at all. Leaking this article to the media is a good example of this. Jill is simply more concerned about her public image at this point. I also think too much has been done and said by both parties. I don’t believe this is a friendship that can be repaired. I would however love to know what you all think.

They are probably having skinny girl margaritas as I type.lol. They run in the same circles. I think they have come to some kind of agreement. I think Jill was like Gargamel this season. You are so right when you say B is no saint and said a whole lot of stuff which people overlook because I am thinking the baby. She definitely toned it down this season. I wish her well in her new show. I like me some evil girls so I hope twisted sister Danielle gets her own show too. Bellevue lockdown.
I think its better to have Jill on her side. She doesn’t have to be BFF but Jill is a spiteful one. Although I do believe she is sincere in missing B there is NO doubt in my mind that in Jill’s world, Jill comes first and foremost. She may miss B but she doesn’t miss her more then her reputation and her access to the gawsip. And B definatelty wasn’t a saint in the feud, but she handled herself better and more like a rational person would. I just wish all these ladies would stop using terms like attacked. They SPOKE. They didn’t act. Its annoying and its a means of pointing out and or playing a victim when they are REAL victims in this world.

I think Bethenny was nicer during the last reunion she is exactly what Alex called her, a coward. Would Bethenny have called LuAnn a dumb drag queen to her face?? NO. What united Bethenny and Jill is exactly what divided them…their snarky mouths behind everyone’s backs.
I agree that the fight was probably arranged for ratings. With 2 new cast members showing up, each cast member felt the need to up the drama-ante or get cut. That would explain everyone’s behavior this season.
I don’t think they should be friends again, but however I do think they aren’t enemies in real life. I do not in anyway think Bethenny was a saint. However I think back at some of the things that Jill did after the taping of the show that we knew about in real life i.e.: Amazongate, and if it was true that while Jill was writing positive reviews for her own book and threatening a negative reviewer, Jill also took the time to allegedly write negative reviews for Bethenny’s book and Alex’s book.
And also Jill mentioned on tv that Bethenny’s wedding was circus like. Whether they become friends again or not I hope Bethenny remembers these things that Jill has said and done during the recent months.
Ally Shapiro Zarin did mention there was crying at the reunion.
I bet Jill cried more over her own public perception than the actual missed friendship with Bethenny. And I think Jill’s tears are stemming from her missing out on camera time while Bethenny was filming and making $ from “Bethenny’s Getting Married” while Jill was sitting all alone selling shmates at Zarin Fabrics.
I totally think Jill is just worried about her image. Jill became popular because her and Beth together was comical.
Jill expected to reap the rewards together and was pissed that Beth got her own show and even going as far to taking credit for Beths sucess. I dont believe for a moment that Jill was pissed at Bethenny in regards to Bobby, but mostly that Beth got her own show.
It didnt take as long for the season to air before the backlash to Jill began. During the taping, cast mates already started to take sides and in the end, Jill was shocked she couldnt talk all the girls out of Ramonas trip and promised one that she would arrange. Even Luanne was telling her in the end she was making mistakes.
Jill published today that she sold 10,000 copies of her bood.. um.. was a profit made and does she owe the publisher for advances?
She is hurting in so many areas and mostly her ego and is desperate to repair her image.

I think after having a baby Bethenny just dosn’t care for dramma and negativety and just threw Jill a bone and said fine. I can see them hanging out and invited to each others events but I doubt they’ll be best of friends again, I can see them fighting again though. B finally realize that Ramona and Alex have better intentions than what Jill had for her.
Life & Style is the same mag that Dlisted busts each week for the fake stories they print.
If Jill Zarin can’t even be friends with herself what makes her think that WE would even phantom the very idea that she could be friends with Bethanny……or anyone else…….
The friendship train with zarin runs on only one track…HERS..She is the conductor and all others are just passengers..at a whim she will throw you off at her pleasure..
BTW….In order for anyone to hate Jill you would have to admit you have feelings for her…Remember…HATE IS A FEELING..

Actually Lauren, Bethenny may say things in her one-on-ones, but she always owns up to them. Now that does not make them right, but LuAnn had it coming because she dissed Bethenny’s magazine cover and then walked out of the event to avoid dealing with her actions. Bethenny also told Luann a few things to her face. It can’t be both ways. No one talks more behind peoples backs then Lulu and Jilly. If they are going to dish it out, they should learn how to take it. According to Lulu and Jilly, the other women cannot, talk behind peoples backs, talk about others at all, wear short skirts, show up unannounced, hang in their circle, push their own products, be rude but Jilly and Lulu can do all of this whenever they feel like it. Thats is an unfair double standard.
Two questions for the fine folks here.
For those in the know on the New York social scene, how is Jill Zarin faring these days? Has she lost some status or is everything pretty much the same?
I know Bravo sends the shows to the ladies before they air so they can have their blogs ready and whatnot, but do they see the edited shows before they do their cutaway interviews? Or do they just sit down and answer questions and talk to the producers? Do they know what the tone of the episode, or even the whole season, is in advance?
Just curious as it makes me see those segments in a different light, depending on if they already know the direction the show is headed or if they are just commenting on their recollections of events.
Bethenny has undoubtedly discovered that a Jill Free Zone is a much saner way of life.
JZ is fueled by and consumed with JZ. I have no faith that JZ’s motives are genuine. She is shallow and image obsessed.
IMO any “olive branch” is to sway her waning Fans NOT to truly re-friend Bethenny.
Everyone deserves a second chance in real life; in Reality TV? It is anyone’s guess.
I agree, B is best off as a polite acquaintance of JZ, healthier.
Neither are saints but JZ has shown by her actions and words her true colors.
There seems to be far more to this that we will never know.

This whole franchise really is my dirty little secret. It’s gotten to the point where I feel like I have to shower and read Pride and Prejudice to rejuvinate my brain cells.
What in God’s name is the B wearing? Another resort wear in Soho fashion DON’T! That dress is not suitable for anyone over the age of 25. It’s WAY too short b/c it was meant for a juvenille. When is she going to learn that her fashion sense is up her ass and give up trying to be a trend setter? If this is her ow creation, where is the skinny girl logo emblazened in embroidered red letter? The jugs look totally f’ing ridiculous stuffed in it as well. Good Lawd.
puhp, we have concensus, that dress is beyond unflattering. Someone needs to tell these ladies to take their eyes off the reflection of their faces in the mirror and pan down. Kelly and B. have nice legs but both wear clothing that is for someone WAY younger!

Both Alex and LuAnn will be on the outs when they become friends again! Each one has been used by the other, because neither Jill nor Bethenny had many close friends on the show.

I’m relieved to read this, this whole season I felt that the real housewives internet community got really out of control with the unquestioned support of St Bethenny and the incredible vitriol over Jill’s behavior. In all friendships and breakups, usually both people share fault over what happened, and I totally agree that Jill mishandled the situation and that’s where she went wrong.
I suspected that feud was scheme to boost ratings. All is fair among Real Housewives…its good tv!!!!!!
Holy…every single one of those descriptors – olive branch, humbled, emotional, lots of tears, Kelly -attacked, Alex- out of control, Ramona -flipped out are ones Jill has used repeatedly during every season of the show. Did she really think no one would figure out she is the source? That’s just sad.
I hope Bethenny and Jill come to an understanding and decide to be nodding acquaintances. Bethenny seems ready to move forward with her life and Jill really does need to get a hobby especially since Aly is leaving for college.

Are you kidding with this question!! If I were Bethenny I would never be friends with Jill again. Jill has proven that she is a complete BITCH and will stab B in the back at any given time, who needs friends like that? However, I would meet with her just to see what she has to say, accept her apology, and then inform her that we would never be really be friends again. Come on people we all know why BriJilla is doing this; she was tried and found guilty in the court of public opinion and she lives to be liked.
Bethenny if you read this do not go all in with this chic, you already know her motive. I’ve been there, done that and you will get burned.
#13 Wallflower, Jill is just another rich women in NY which comes a dime a dozen she never had status. If you are able to pay $1000-$10,000 your able to get into a benefit no matther where your from. The people with real “Status” are in the Social Register in which Jill can never dare touch. The only one that could probably reach that status is Sonja if she was still married to her ex husband and maybe Luann if she was still married; and if either of them was never on the show. The women with status would never be associated with her.
In order to forgive the friendship has to be based on something real. Friends don’t intentionally abandon each other when they are let down.
So I’m not sure these two had a real friendship, the power seemed to be off balance. By that I mean Jill was in control and Beth followed her lead. Jill lent Beth her house, her mother, her husbands connections, her advice, etc. Yet it was a one way street where Jill had all the power. Their one fight from last season was when Jill was threatened by Beth’s picture on the liquor ads. I think once Beth got her own power; her own brand then Jill lost control of her. Friendship over.
Friendship is not a power struggle for control. Beth doesn’t need Jill and Jill doesn’t like that. They can never be friends again because they had no friendship to begin with.

Reminds me of the old saying “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer”.
While I agree that B wasn’t a saint during this feud, I do think she’s allowed to be just as busy as all of us can get in our careers and life, and Jill shouldn’t have been a baby about it. It’s as if Jill was Co-Dependent on B; and when that suddenly pulled B away from Jill’s life for a bit, she couldn’t handle it. Then the subsequent moves, nasty snarky comments Jill made about Alex, Ramona, etc., created a very bad image for Jill. She created bad karma. B made attempts and Jill couldn’t own her feelings and just tell her that she was upset. She made B figure it out through gossip in the Hamptons what was going on in their friendship. No bueno.
Through out the Real housewives of NY, Bethenny, Jill, Romana, all of them have had feuds. Why is it all of a sudden, Jill has done something so traumatic that Bethenny cannot forgive her. I truly believe if Bethenny was still broke, not married, etc., she would let Jill back in her life without a thought. But now she is so successful, she does not need Jill anymore. They both were wrong, forgive and get on with it. Life is too precious to hold grudges.
Luann I never thought I would say this but you are now the most disliked housewife. You did this to yourself, no one else to blame. I looked at all the reruns of this season and I watched you in each episode get worse and worse. You are #1 and Jill is #2. You had power when you were married even though you slept around but when your husband dumped you for a much younger woman you became an old bitter woman. Now you are trying to be younger by dating “younger men” they certainly don’t look younger. I watched your mouth quiver as you were giving Alex a lecture on never chosing sides when you had done just that you chose Jill. You also can’t look at Alex or anyone else that is not intimidated by you. when you go to congratulation her engagement and you then brought up the fact she called you a snake, which you are, your eyes were looking everwhere but at Bethenny. Face it you have no power everyone is on to you. Your video – what a joke can you seriously look at it and think it is good. Should have heard Andy Cohen laughing at it last night then realized it was very noticeable and he then said oh I love that song. “Still laughing” You are really a joke.
