You could be correct – could be related to her actions regarding the non-existent Jeff Beitzel Foundation or could be related to her admission in court that she and Bravo were paid directly for Slade’s appearances on the RHOC and she then paid Slade out of these funds for his appearances.
As far as the CA Anti-SLAPP laws, SLAPP suits can be disposed of pretty quickly with an Anti-SLAPP Motion to Strike. This special motion was created by the CA legislature in response to pressures from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and others:

Basically what the section in bold is saying is that for actions where a government entity is the plaintiff, there are no provisions for atty fees & costs recovery. For private actions, yes.

For those of us that don’t speak legalese or Californianese, could you offer a primer on what SLAPP is, and how this will affect Wretchen and Slime? One can only hope that there are criminal charges in her future for the manipulation and game of semantics she played with her “charity”; and of course, we all would LOVE to see Slime spend, oh I don’t know, 10 days in jail for every $50 in child-support he owes? And, of course, there would be NO reduction in time served for good behavior or jail overcrowding, or any other ridiculous excuses. One question that I have wondered about for a while, didn’t he loose his driver’s license due to child support non-payment, and isn’t he on film driving on several occasions? Was this dealt with thru the legal system in California? How is he slipping through the cracks – is he using his “celebrity” to avoid consequences? I know the penal system in California is overwhelmed and overcrowding is a horrible situation, but how has he escaped serving time for non-payment of a judicial order? He cannot be that good, can he?
Mr Big Pimpin’ aka Slade Smiley continues to file OSC (Order to Show Cause). this stalls ALL legal/criminal proceedings against him. He is basically daring the court to prove he owes child support…

A SLAPP lawsuit:
“Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation” is defined by Black’s Law Dictionary (7th ed) as: “A [law]suit brought by a developer, corporate executive, or elected official to stifle those who protest against some type of high-dollar initiative or who take an adverse position on a public interest issue.”
SLAPP suits were instituted by farmers and growers after the apple/alar controversy. So that may help you to visualize what the intent of the SLAPP suits are for.
imo, Jay would be a corporate executive here. As for the other part of your question: I really do not know what the strategy is of Jay’s attorney(s) however, obviously this tactic would have to do with Defamation and how his business has allegedly been affected by Gretchen’s speech about him.
So, that’s what I’m thinking.
Her side would probably come up with the Anti-SLAPP motion to strike and the Judge/Jury would decided whether the law and facts in either paper weigh more than the other and so a judgment would proceed from that.
An Anti-SLAPP defense Motion to Strike, is defined under the Code of Civil Procedure as:
Cal. Code Civ. Pro § 425.16(b)(1). The purpose of the anti-SLAPP statute is “to allow early dismissal of meritless first amendment cases aimed at chilling expression through costly, time-consuming litigation.”

Ok, isn’t the fact that there is a judicial decree, duly filed with the clerk of the court, dictating the child support and the monetary amount of that support enough to prove that he does indeed owe child support? Is he filing these motions on his own or does he have an attorney working for him? If he has an attorney, please tell me that the attorney is not 1) a Legal-Aid attorney, paid for by the county or State; 2) a publicity hungry sheister seeking fame and fortune by doing pro bono for Slime; 3) a female attorney receiving payment “in kind” from Slime; 4) a fresh-out-of-lawschool hard-charging, wanting to right the wrongs of the world newly admitted to the bar kid being sucked in by Slime’s charm…anyway, you understand what I’m trying to say…How can he still be walking around, thumbing his nose at the California judicial system at every turn? How was he able to get his motorcycle license at the end of that course that he and Wretchen took? Or, was that before he “lost” his license? He continues to slide by with no consequences and believes that he can get away with any and everything.
Yeah, Puhp. Wretchen couldn’t move her head, that dang hat was so big! Between her hat and her teeth, I’m not sure what was bigger! All I know is that I would think that Bravo has so many instances of him breaking the law on film that it would be seemingly easy to nail his ass(et) to the wall. But, I’m a law abiding citizen, so I’d be the first one to be caught if I tried to do all of these things under the same circumstances.

I wanted to like Gretchen when she first came on, especially since I am not a Tamra or Vickie fan, but this is wrong. I don’t get the facination with Slade, he must really be GREAT at a few things. Gretchen is not ugly she could find someone better. There are plenty of lonely duds for her to milk, but Slade. Slade needs a woman like Danielle, because I think she could handle his mess and would probably make him get a job to support her. I’m baffled. I lost my father to cancer and I would slay the dragon that would dare to create a fake foundation in his name and aid & abet some loser from paying his child support. So his salary was “laundered” so-to-speak by Gretchen. I hope the court goes after BravoTV too.

Here is the form dear Slade is using to stall. As you can all see, an OSC is a one-pager, however it must be accompanied by other documents such as the Financial Statement, Income & Expense Delaration, blanks for the opposing party, Property Delaration, and lastly a Memo of Points & Authorities.

The last one required is a Memo of P&A which is more complicated (this submission regards points of legislative and case law in support of one’s position and request to the court) and I’m thinking someone has told him what to submit in order to delay matters this long.

About one year ago, I posted this info on Gretchen’s site because I thought that the info would be of help to anyone with a child who has a brain tumor (such as Grayson).
My posting was removed shortly after posting, I assume by her. Kinda makes me wonder….
Anyway, Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski in TX has successfully treated hundreds of children and adults with brain tumors and he is authorized by the FDA to conduct clinical trials.
Dr. Burzynski offers financial aid for many of his patients, not sure why anyone wouldn’t look into this:

Who’s the drag queen in the middle?
Has anyone contemplated how weary Grayson’s mother must be of Slade’s continued ability to drag this whole thing out? You know that the stress that this woman deals with on a daily basis must be so overwhelming at times. I have to give her a hand, she must be doing everything in her power to provide Grayson with a ‘normal’ life, considering the drama brought by his sperm-donor.
I just wonder what spectacle Slade will make of himself at the end? He is SUCH a great actor, you know that he will play the grieving father in award winning fashion. Too bad we will all know that it is an act, but if I were Grayson’s mother, I think that I might take matters into my own hands. I know it wouldn’t serve any purpose, but it might make me feel better!
As for Wretchen, I wonder how she can stay with him with all of the horrible facts that have come out about his character and continue to come out daily. Does she really believe him when he tells her they are all lies? I’m in agreement with the poster that said that he must be really good at something else to keep her satisfied, but after a while, even that gets old. After that, what is Slade’s allure?
