TMZ is reporting today that Danielle Staub has reached a settlement with her ex-husband Kevin Maher.
The settlement comes just a day before the former Real Housewives of New Jersey star was supposed to be deposed. Kevin was suing Danielle for $5 million in a defamation lawsuit. Kevin has repeatedly denied the allegations Danielle made about him in the press and in her memoir when she claimed he once raped her with a gun and murdered her dog.
While the settlement terms are confidential, Kevin a source tells TMZ “cash was involved in the deal.”
Kevin also tells TMZ, “The matter was resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.” He added, “It’s interesting that the case gets settled the day before Danielle was supposed to be deposed … it was going to be the worst day of her life.”
Below is a photo of Kevin Maher taken back in March when he met up with Danielle’s co-stars Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita. The ladies stated they met up with Kevin to get answers about Danielle’s past.
The only settlement acceptable should involved sewing her mouth shut and making her wear a paperbag over her head!

Why were they trying to get info about her past in March??? I thought they were so done with her, wanted no parts of Danielle, could care less AND dont talk about her….child bye they are all fakes and liars…ALL OF THEM!!
How could cash be involved when she doesn’t really have anything. I’m guessing it was a very small amount of cash and possibly some kind of retraction from her and a gag order for the future.

I wonder if she will have to make a statement about “the abuse” as part of the settlement. As far as the cash goes, she was getting a settlement from her ex (supposedly), and the sale of her house should have netted her 1/2 of something.

If he lied as much as she claimed, what was there to agree about. You would think she would wan’t to fight it out if only for the purpose of bringing his so called lies (her words) to the front.
Hi Lck@16, I remember Danielle saying that if she ever sold her house, a large portion of it would go to her husband. This is the reason she wanted him to make repairs before sailing. She wanted to be able to increase the selling price so that after his cut, she would still have something left for herself.

Reaching a settlement, and actually receiving it are two totally different things. Her money from BRAVO was already been seized by the courts for some reason, so, I really do not think he will ever see any compensation.
I would assume her attorneys have advised her to file bankruptcy to ensure he’s not paid anything. She so needs to do some serious jail time before someone gets really hurt by this psycho. How utterly sad it is for her daughters.
Danielle Staub was insured under her homeowner’s insurance policy for slander and defamation with a $5 million policy per occurence. Therefore her ex-husband, Kevin Maher will be paid by the insurance company- not Staub as will her ex-boyfriend, Steve Zalewski.
@27 Jessica: Seriously? Since when does home owners insurance cover slander and defamation? I know almost anything can be insured, but I didn’t know that could be.
Who adds something like that to a policy….oh, I know, someone who knows they are guilty of something.
