It seems Nene Leakes has feelings too. Who knew?
Following a public backlash for the second year in a row due to her behavior both on and off the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Nene is now admitting the negative press can be “hurtful” at times.
During a recent interview with Zap2It, Nene was asked how she feels about all the bad press surrounding her. “Some of the press is hurtful, because I’m a human like anybody else,” said the Nene. “So, some of it is hurtful. And some of it, when I know it’s a flat out lie, I’m like whatever, it doesn’t really matter. But, some of the press is hurtful and I do read some of it, sometimes.”
Nene goes on to add that she has learned a lot about herself since doing the show. What has she learned you ask? Well, mostly that other people are very judgmental and that she’s a really strong woman.
“Being on the show, I’ve learned that people are very judgmental, very, very judgmental,” she says. “And I’ve learned also that I have very thick skin. I’ve learned that I’m a really strong woman. I have really gone through some things and really come out on top. So, I am a strong woman. At the end of the day, when I go home I sleep very well.” Poor Nene, always the victim.
In other Nene news, the NYDailyNews is reporting that Nene might be getting the boot from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. The reason? Apparently, both Bravo and Andy Cohen have had it up to here with her “extra-grande ego.”
An insider reveals that Andy’s relationship with the Nene has become strained due to her “disrespectful” and “arrogant behavior.” Another issue is Nene’s overly aggressive behavior toward costar Kim Zolciak, as Kim had to file a police report two years ago after she alleged Nene choked her during an argument.
“She’s alienated all of the women other than Cynthia [Bailey],” the source adds. “So, as of now, the plan is to “phase” Leakes out within the first two to three episodes of season four, which begins in October.”
