According to a new report, Bachelor “winner” Emily Maynard, 25, is in talks to be the next Bachelorette with sources revealing it’s almost a done deal!
UsWeekly is reporting the newly single Emily, who recently confirmed her break up with Brad Womack, is angling to become the next Bachelorette just a month after splitting from Brad.
“She hasn’t officially signed on yet, but it looks like a done deal,” a source reveals. And despite Emily’s recent comments that appearing on the series was “the last thing on my mind,” the insider adds that Emily is hoping to use her stint on the show to jump-start a broadcast career… of course. “She wants to be famous,” the source says of the single mom to 6-year-old daughter Ricki.
And with the show ratings down about 10% this season with the boring Ashley Hebert, ABC execs reportedly have high hopes for Emily: “They know she’s a fan favorite,” reveals a source.
In addition to boosting her profile, Emily is also reportedly ready to move on from her ex-fiance Brad. “He has issues, and you could tell from the start that it was never going to work with Emily,” another insider reveals. A pal however insists Emily “gave it everything she had.”
If Emily does indeed become the next Bachelorette, it is likely ABC will film her season right away instead of waiting until next year. Plus in looking at Ashley’s final four, none of the men really seem like Bachelor candidates.

Nay. Nay. Nay. Nay. Need I say more. I agree with earlier posts she is boring and Thia will end up worse than Ashly who by far is the worst at selecting who stays. She screwed up the first rose ceremony by letting go of her true guy(s) she picked those who she felt less in common with. As for her love for that one guy. Oh pa-leaese. The one who left. He left for a reason. So let him go not try to find closure. She has real issues. Or should I say real fake issue. Case closed. ABC is going to eventually screw up this show worse than it is now. Realest.
Emily is cold!!! Point, blank, period. Don’t watch the show just read what is online and clips I’ve seen. Out of what 15? 16? seasons only 4 success stories, what a waste of TV. Its funny that ABC has $$$ for this crap but not for All My Children or One Life To Live, smdh

Why would she put her daughter through meeting at least 4 new guys? She’d be stupid to do it.
I like Emily, but I’m not sure if doing the show is the best way to transition into her career. She’d be prolonging the period in which people associate her with the show. I think she should just get an agent and try to do some segments.
Hi All – I think Emily is sweet but too immature for this show – she needs to see the world a little – there is life outside NC. Not sure why I keep watching this show. Because of Bentley I started throwing things at the TV. LOL!!
