Jennifer Lopez has a lot going on in her personal life, but she’s not quitting her day job because of it. Jenny from the block has confirmed that she will return as a judge for Season 11 of American Idol! Yay! A whole ‘nother season of her sartorial disasters interesting fashion choices!
American Idol producer, Nigel Lythgoe confirmed Jennifer’s return during Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, stating: “I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol [Seacrest] is back for the next season,” adding that all three judges are about to travel cross-country scouting potential contestants. I guess Jennifer is taking a leave of absence from her pending divorce from Marc Anthony.
Mrs. Anthony Ms. Lopez was previously undecided if she would return to the judges panel, given her busy schedule, but apparently experienced a change of heart. When asked what prompted her return (besides the money and exposure) she remarked: “You get to know [the contestants]. You get to know their hopes and their dreams on camera, off-camera. You’re helping them off camera, you’re helping them on camera and it’s this crazy ride you go on together.” She further added, “You definitely get involved, I definitely get involved, I am very emotional as you can see from the show. That’s just how I am.”
TMZ is however reporting Jlo got a nice pay increase, and will earn $20 million this season in comparison to the $12 million she earned last season. Not too shabby.
In other Jennifer news, she talks to People about that divorce you may have heard about. Jennifer, who was included in People’s Most Beautiful People 2011 List, describes the dissolution of her marriage: “Sometimes it doesn’t work – and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love.”
Jennifer describes the choice to leave as a necessary one to save herself: “Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself – if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me.”
Although her relationship with Marc, her husband of seven years and the father of her 3-year-old twins Max and Emme didn’t work out, Jennifer predictably has nothing but good things to say, giving the standard publicist approved quote for divorcing celebs: “I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”

Some paid HER a million to sing at their wedding? Geez, I can think of plenty of other singers with better voices than hers..Haven’t watched American Idol since the first few seasons. Can’t believe it’s still on the air. It lost it authenticity for me..so really am floored that the judges are making this much money. ‘Celebrity’ marriages and divorces are so annoying. They have all of this publicity for the wedding, engagement, children.. become fairly irrelevant in Hollywood, then have turnaround stories like it’s a fairytale, divorcing and selling photos and interviews of how they’ve overcome it all. And how many freaking people are going to come out with a signature fragrance? I just read Snooki is ‘developing’ one. My God, what is THAT going to smell like? Ick.
@12 LOL. I’m pretty sure Snooki’s “fragrance” is going to be called Walk of Shame and will smell like beer, puke, tanning oil, and sex. Blech. You can count me out as a purchaser! hehe
Not a fan of J.Lo’s singing or acting. I think her one talent was/is dancing. But she starred in Selena at the right time—during the whole Latin explosion that went on about 10 years ago (started by Ricky Martin).
She played her cards well by dating Diddy and then Ben Affleck and extended her 15 min. of fame into a career.
I will say, she always looks great! Hair, makeup, and outfits are usually always on point.

6. of course what would she be doing? let me think next year she has 3 new films her own tv talent show (que viva) and a world tour along with now been a tv producer raising 2 kids and been wheather you like it or not she is a fashion icon and that is proven by her fashion line she releasing in november. case closed.

She’s getting divorced because she is running with her dancer boy from her video (like she’s done in the past). She is so full of herself – she’s untalented and honestly, complete trash.
I read in Vanity Fair that she is so sad her marriage to Marc Anthony didn’t work out! Did they try counseling? What did they do to work through any problems? Nothing they just discard the relationship. They have 3 year old twins for god’s sake.
I may not like her as a person, but let’s be real. She looks HOT. This lady had twins and still has abs like that, I am not mad at her 1 bit for showing off her curves. I STILL haven’t got my pre-baby body back and I only had 1 child.
Hopefully in the next season of American Idol she’ll stop all that useless crying and babbling when her personal favorites get cut — and be more professional. (After all, that’s how the show works…right??)
