Ready or not, an all new season of Dancing With The Stars premieres tonight on ABC!
Season 13 of the hit show will feature 12 “celebrities” including Rob Kardashian, Ricki Lake, David Arquette, Nancy Grace, Kristin Cavallari, Carson Kressley and many others!
The new season has however not been without controversy as immediately following ABC’s reveal of the cast back in August, some fans of the show were outraged over the casting of Chaz Bono aka the first transgendered contestant in the show’s history. In fact Chaz’s uber famous mother Cher had to publicly defend him.
Chaz, 42, is now speaking out today on the backlash he received from some. “I feel like if people who are on the fence just watch the show, I think they’re going to feel comfortable with me pretty soon,” said Chaz to the AP. “I’m a really kind of regular guy. I think I’m a pretty nice guy. My heart is in the right place and I think if people just watch, they’ll see that.”
Chaz goes on to add that he’s more worried about his dancing skills today than any backlash. “It’s completely different because I’ve never done this before,” he said. “I can sit down and talk to Oprah about myself or subjects that I’m really comfortable with and that I really know and have information to put across, but I’m not a dancer. All I know about dancing is what I’ve learned in less than (three) weeks!”
And while we won’t know for certain the dancing capabilities of this new group of contestants until tonight, odd makers have already started making bets as to who will win the mirror ball trophy this season.
The favorite to win it all? None other than US soccer player Hope Solo, who is partnered with hotness Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Other contestants expected to fare well this season include Elisabetta Canalis, Kristin Cavallari, and Carson Kressley.
Dancing With The Stars season 13 debuts tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

@Wayne…my first post but that was funny!!!! I’m sensitive to people but I want to know if you change gender later in life does it change it from birth, or ever on birth certificate or you just get a new identity?? Not trying to offend….
I saw Chaz and thought that is one hot mess! Hubby thinks he looked better as a woman.
I know that these shows have to scrape the bottom of the barrel from time to time….but DWTS has officially “Jumped The Shark”.

I’m not overly excited about any of the contestants, but I’ll check it out tonight to see if anyone keeps my interest. I still can’t get that image out of my head watching Kate “dance”. oh my! Nancy & Chaz should give me a good chuckle.

I hate this show but had to see the first night. So far I should have watched re-runs of Dog the Bounty Hunter..eeeesh…Rob Kardasian did as most of us thought…terrible, and the big one, Khloe yelled something at the jude after his comments. Typical loud-mouth. Of course the host had to remind us the front row is taken up by Kardasians….time to turned it off.
Did anyone else notice Andy Cohen at a table in the audience standing and cheering after Ricki Lake danced?
I didn’t catch the whole show but Rob K. was acting so high school in his rehearsal bit with Cheryl. Shouldn’t he be a bit past that stage of his life? I actually thought he was going to pull her hair at one point.
Kristen C. did pretty good. Nancy was about what I expected.
Not a fan of Brooke Burke as a commentator. I don’t know why but she annoys me. She is a pretty lady but zero personality on screen. Weird. She always comes across as bitchy.
…what is with that incessant audience clapping ?? Talk about annoying… I am fast forwarding more and more of this show! Now we have the Kards in the front row yelling out…I can watch that show in 45 minutes.

I totally feel the same way about Brooke Burke. I haven’t ever been able to quite pinpoint it, but she’s SO blasé. It gets under my skin a little. Even her in those Sketcher’s commercials are really weird. She goes through the motions but falls flat like a robot.
