Kate Gosselin is grasping at purse strings – literally – to keep herself on television. Her newest scheme to get the viewing public to extend her 15 minutes is to cry about how much she needs the money and TV is the only possible way to support her children in the lifestyle she they have become accustomed to!
Last night was the final episode of Kate Plus 8, so expect Kate to be all over the media pedalling her story to anyone willing to listen in the hopes of procuring a TV gig! The wannabe C-List celebrity says she is concerned about her children, as supposedly upon being told TLC canceled the show “Their first comment was, ‘No more fun trips?’” Kate says. “For them, no more job for Mom means no more trips, no more fun.”
“I read what we apparently make and it’s hysterical,” Kate tells The Huffington Post. “That would be a dream come true times two million. So it’s certainly way less than people think. We are not set for life. You know I need to work as soon as possible — as in yesterday.” Kate continues, explaining: “[I've saved] for a little while. People think we made gazillions of dollars, and we didn’t.”
While Kate insists that she’s “saved,” it sounds like her definition of saving is the same one used by RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice, because a quick peek at her reported yearly expenses (not including gym and tanning!) is not painting the picture of a hard-working mom just trying to provide for her family! Let’s have a look, shall we?
Staff: Kate employs two housekeepers, two full-time nannies, a personal assistant, and a bodyguard! Well, he’s “technically” a bodyguard… The total bill for her hired help? $500,000 per year!
Hair: Kate gets her hair cut, colored, and styled by celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson (and a quick look at his celebrity client roster leaves me wondering why he bothers with Kate), who also stars on What Not To Wear. Allegedly Kate spent $2,000 on one trip to the stylist’s NYC salon! Now times that by how many trips she makes per year!
Home: Kate owns a massive 6,000 square foot, five-bedroom, 1.3 million estate in Wernersville, PA which sits on 24 acres!
School: To put 8 children through private school at $5,000 per month, the yearly tab totals: $500,000!
Shopping: Apparently, Ms. Gosselin who is often photographed with a slew of shopping bags, is quite the shopaholic. And while TLC often picked up the tab for her fashion binges during filming, now she may have to *gasp* stop buying countless inappropriate halter tops and shortie-shorts.
Kate describes herself as a “worker,” recalling that she went back to work when her children were 15-months-old. And singing a very different tune from last week, when she called average jobs like nursing “mediocre,” she now begrudgingly states she’d go back to nursing: “If nothing comes up, I’ll do it. But the scary reality is, 12-hour nursing shifts every day wouldn’t let me continue to provide well for me eight kids.” Well, given how much she is spending on hair, I doubt nursing is going to let her provide for herself – let alone her children!
Kate is also adamant that she won’t be changing her childrens’ lifestyle, as she informed us last night, during the show’s final episode. “I refuse to pull them out of their house. I refuse to pull them out of their school, so I better figure something out to keep them there.”
Kate insists she’s not “bitter” that TLC pulled the plug, even though she would like to finish one (or 10) more seasons. “I like to finish things until they are done but they make their decisions for their reasons and I will move onto bigger and better things,” she explains. “I have a lot of stuff I could be bitter about but I don’t waste time.”

Public records state that Jon pays $22,000/month in child support. Staggering. That comes to $264,000./year. How dare this woman stage a public plea for a new job, but ONLY if it’s in show business! $264K/yr. = $33,000/child/year. Families of 4 live on less! Any media outlet which gives her a platform to publicly “interview” for work, when so many are giving up homes, food, medicine, dr. visits, etc. is criminal.
The few times she has mentioned her upbringing show her to be deeply angry and resentful, as she has revealed that their lifestyle was very ordinary. She also says that she always knew she’d be a “star”. This hot mess needs to get to a shrink asap, since she is clearly trying to get revenge on the universe for all that she was denied. The fact that her parents are non-entities in the children’s lives and her life is very telling. Kate, it’s YOU, only YOU, who feels entitled to spa luncheons at the Ritz-Carlton pool, constant pampering, etc. Kids are happy with love and catching lightning bugs at night. Stop pretending it’s all for them. You coveted Beth Carson’s life, then had an opportunity to copy it. Only difference: Beth has class and grace, two things you’ll never be able to acquire. Get out of our consciousness. You’re a sick and evil woman. How do you reconcile your selfishness and self-centered-ness with being a Christian?
Kate just insulted 90% of working parents in the world by stating that if a parent isn’t in the spotlight (for whatever), their children lead “mediocre lives” What a slap in the face to all working parents. Hey, Kate… I haven’t seen a photo of any of your kids smiling in years. Must be a result of that GREAT life you have given them! Millions of families have 8+ kids and seem to be happy and pay bills and even go on.. (gasp) vacations! This woman is so delusional, she thinks she is “someone” and has sadly passed that attitude on to her kids. I haven’t seen a photo of those kids smiling in years. Actually, the only time we see them happy seems to be in photos of them with their father.. doing you know.. “mediocre” things. Kate.. time to sell the house…go to local salons for hair, knock off the fake orange tan…sell that ridiculous sports car….start showing your children that its hard work in daily life that builds character. All they have been shown by their mother is “look at me, I am special” way of life. Time for those kids to see life is really what their father is (finally) showing them. Like most dumb people, Kate makes the mistake of thinking everyone else is dumb and should feel sorry for this waste of time woman who has used 8 beautiful children for her own bank account.
Oh yeah.. and read this in the news today:
“Kate Gosselin got a ticket for speeding Sept. 9 when Pennsylvania State Police police said she was going 88 mph in a 65 mph zone. The ticket for the lead-footed mother of eight cost $174.
Kate who was stopped in Brecknock Township located on the line between Berks County and Lancaster County told police she was rushing home to her kids according to the Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era. The paper reported Kate pleaded guilty on August 17 when she paid her $174 fine.”
“RUSHING HOME TO HER KIDS”??? This narcissist will NEVER stop blaming those KIDS for any wrong she does. I’m sure the Officer thought that made her a great mom, right?

That was done so the cop would say, “Oh, you’re Khate Gosselin with all those kids, forget about a ticket, get home safely.”

My fiancee’s parents have 13 kids, although his father was and is still great working 2 full time jobs, his mom always also worked part time / seasonal jobs, and they still work, but they r coming into their 60′s now…but both of my parents always have worked full time, my mother always taught me to work for your own money always especially as a woman, it has instilled a great work ethic in myself as I’ve always held a full time job and at times even 2 part time jobs on top of getting my education, my parents have 4 children and they made it, I can’t wait until this woman’s children all grow up and are still living with their mother thru their 30′s still not able to make a living themselves well looks like kate’s not a great saver and jon doesn’t make that much, time to start clipping those coupons woman, hey I have another idea, she could always sell Avon! LOL point is there is plenty of work especially with her nursing degree, cannot believe she’s out buying 2 seater sports cars, this woman is crazy, with like 8 kids, who does that?!?! I saw a few clips from the final episode and can tell how even all the crew hated working with her and at one point she threw a dirty diaper at a producer, again who does that!!
Kate’s repeating the same pity act as she did when she got voted off DWTS. She cried and fussed instead of graciously appreciating how long she got to stay (which was too long BTW). And it was all because of the money, since the longer they stay on the more they make.

Never heard such crazy ass talk in all my life. Jeez! Poor kids, to have a money hungry nutbag like this for a mother. I can just see them lying on various therapists’ couches in the years ahead. Shame.
Kate represents what is currently wrong in our society, the sense of entitlement. Like many she feels entitled to have these things for her and her children but in reality she should be concerned with supporting these kids. The kids will be fine in a smaller house and in public school but Kate’s ego will not allow it. She is just like any average unemployed American now and that kills her. She thought she had star power and she does not, her kids are the true stars. Kate will have to realize that she is going to have to cut back and really budget for important things like say food and shelter. The kids are old enough now where if she and John had a good parenting plan they would be able to manage without any of the help that cost 500,000 a year. Kate is really setting herself and her kids up for failure. Instead of spending that 500,000 a year to keep them in private school she should be putting that money away to send them to college. Many kids go to public school and thrive. She needs to just step away from the flashing lights, re-prioritize and let these kids adjust to a normal existence.
I can’t stand people like her, having all of these kids and crying about money! Go suck an egg!!!!

Oh please! Time for Kate to get off her hight horse. I have 2 handicapped children and I work a MEDIOCRE job. Its time for your pity party to end. Kate, while you are driving your fancy car think about the families that are really struggling. Learn the 3 R’s. Respect for self, respect for others and responsibility for your actions. Realize that the only way your children will ever understand the true meaning of love is when you make sacrifices. In other words, get off your hiney and go to work.

How is it “sad” if the kids do not travel anymore? My family only took car trips when I was growing up, but we had a wonderful time. Besides, I know families that don’t take ANY vacations and those kids are still happy because they are LOVED. That’s what is important in life but Kate has obviously forgotten that.

Someone was asking what happened to Kate’s nice friend, Beth Carson. She was the rich one from her church who used to babysit the kids. She also co-authored the first Gosselin book, Multiple Bles8ings? Actually, she wrote a large portion. It was reported that in order to meet the publishing deadline, that she & Kate went away to a cabin to write, but that Kate spent most of the time on the phone talking to friends or sleeping while Beth wrote.
My guess is that like other family and former friends, Beth realized Kate was turning into a diva, an unchristian mother/wife and a user so it was time to cut the cord on that friendship.
I used to find Kate Gosselin repugant but I look at it now and thank the Lord that but for the grace of God there go I. I don’t think I would ever be like that but do we really know? That is why our Lord said money is the root of all evil. He understood what it did to people. I thank the Lord that he has protected me and my children and grandchildren from so many things that could have led us astray and away from him. That is called the love of God. Kate, if she is a true Christian is the most miserable of people. Because, whenever we are not in Gods will, we are miserable. I pray for the children and pray she get back in church and get right with the Lord and her family so the children can have a loving, caring community of people that are there for them in the years ahead. They are going to need it.

Begging is nothing new to Khate. She’s expected handouts since her kids were born and they were put on disability benefits (due prematurity), received a fully paid for baby nurse for 1 year, and received college trust fund accounts set up by PA. Then came the countless donations from baby furniture, clothes and diapers/formula to volunteer services such as childcare assistance and household help. There was also the financial support from churches and generous benefactors.
Following the show’s success, the big money started rolling in with product endorsements (& free merchandise) as well as various paid appearances and book deals. As the ratings grew, so did the Gosselin’s salary, perks and egos.
Unfortunately for Kate, what little humility she might have possessed early on was replaced by narcissism and it grew, eventually revealing itself to others and the public. During the divorce, Khate played the sympathy card, lying as she portrayed herself as the victim when she was the one who called it quits on the marriage while keeping up the pretense for the show. She manipulated the media to keep fans watching the show, saying it’s all for the “kids”.
Now she is playing the sympathy card again and expecting handouts in order to continue living a lavish lifestyle. Sadly, the eight kids are simply the means to an end, aka: Khate’s meal ticket to avoid a “mediocre” life.
Can you even begin to imagine her as your nurse. There is Kate in the room she will not be doing any actual work because she is above doing any mediocre job. She will be in the room barking orders at the LPN or the CNA while her bodyguard…Uhm boyfriend Steve is guarding the door just in case someone attempts to make eye contact with the diva. You wake up famished and attempt to eat your dinner and she rushes overs and slaps your hand and demand that you hand over the pizza to her because she promised that to Steve. She has scared SH** out of you and you have an accident in the bed and soil the linen which really throws her over the edge and she makes you go sit in the bathroom while she shrieks about the bedding just being put on the bed…not that she really cares some mediocre person with a mediocre job made the bed! All she can do is talk about how disgusting all of this is and she is way above this station in life!
Guys Guys! Calm down. It should be obvious by now that Kate Gosselin is an angry, neurotic, emotionally disturbed woman. And Kate. Here’s a tip. Due to the fact that you have absolutely no marketable talents (unless you want to start doing porn) you are never going to be able to maintain this lavish lifestyle. Yes, you are going to have to get rid of all the servants (maybe you can keep 1 parttime) and oh yes. The hunky TLC bodyguard (who’s married with children by the way). I’m afraid you aren’t going to have any excuses for keeping him around anymore. I doubt that he would have left his family to marry you anyway. Who would take on not only you but your eight children and a jerk ex-husband. Jon Gosselin to his credit did not want that house. She is the one that insisted on buying it. Unbelieveable!

I was making an indirect slam at the selfish fame whore that is called Kate. I am sad for the kids for having a mother who treats her kids like little ATM’s.
It just pisses me off royally when someone becomes a rich fame whore for having an artificial litter of kids. I do not believe she is worried about putting food on the table…she is worried about how she is going to continue with her first class flying, five star hotels, weaves, spa treatments…….
I understand that Kate G. does not want to work 12 hour shifts. But there are other nursing jobs where she can work a regular schedule. I was a divorced single mom who worked full time as a secretary in the government. It was exhausting sometimes and dull but I had great job security and medical insurance. When I retired 5 years ago, I collapsed. Now I am working part time and love it. We all have to do what we have to do. Ms. Gosselin is going to have to come down now and live in the real world.
A very self centered woman who thinks the world owes her – she’s not going to pull her children out of their house – or out of private school – just who does she think she is?? She’s rude – let her work for her money like normal people – get rid of the two nannies – and all the make-up and hair stylists – no one wants to watch her on TV – if she is – I’ll simply change the channel. It’s very sad for the children – they are beginning to think they are owed this lifestyle as well.
Can’t believe I’m kinda defending the rudest, greedy, self-centered person I’ve ever seen, but TLC foots the bill for the bodyguard, and most ‘celebrities’ are given clothes knowing they will be photographed. Last, every private school gives discounts for 2nd, 3rd children, etc. Don’t know who calculated her expenses, but they’re way off.
