BBW LA’s Imani Showalter Says Jackie Christie’s “A Really Sad Person”; Plus Two Part Reunion!

For the ladies of Basketball Wives: L.A., a girls’ trip to Hawaii wasn’t all luaus and hula skirts. It was drama with a capital D.

Imani Showalter’s feud with cast mate Laura Govan reached a boiling point before heading to paradise, with Imani purging all of Laura’s belongings she’d once promised to house. However, once in Hawaii, the pair realized that there was a common denominator in all the women’s petty fights… and that same thread is Jackie Christie.

In a recent interview, Imani talks about how she looked up to Jackie with her long marriage and her life experience, thus when Jackie told Imani that longtime friend Laura had been spreading lies around town Imani was quick to believe her. Once she hashed out her issues with Laura (Imani reveals the two minute conversation that viewers witnessed was a much smaller portion of a thirty minute discussion), the pair realized that they had heard a lot of similar gossip about each other from the same source. When the ladies realized that Jackie seemed to be pitting them against one another, Imani’s eyes were opened to her former friend.

Imani states, “For me it was just very malicious and evil. I think she’s a really sad person. I feel bad for her.” As for the state of their friendship now? Imani reveals that it is “non-existent.” Imani had trusted Jackie and now she is seeing another side to her former pal. She continues, “Jackie has a way of talking you to death.” ”

When discussing the ladies’ confrontation with Mrs. Christie, Imani says, “Basically she was typical Jackie: She got loud, aggressive, rude, insulting. Then she started crying and whining, and then she got apologetic. She’s very bipolar, and she confuses you.”

As for Imani’s relationship with Laura, everything is still copasetic. Still, Imani doesn’t regret sending Laura’s stuff to storage, admitting, “It just kept coming to me all this negative stuff and I just felt so used by her.” She stands by her decision, asserting, “At the time, I didn’t feel bad.”

Thankfully, Laura and Imani are better than fine. Imani gushes, “I love Laura! I love her mom; I love her children.” She does, however, regret letting Jackie’s rumors come between her and her friend. Imani explains, “It was really sad. It was infuriating. It was a gambit of emotions.” She continues, “I just felt like I had been betrayed on the worst level. I didn’t understand why Jackie would do such a thing. Me and Laura were so close.”

Of course, Imani finds a lesson in this less than stellar situation. She advises, “I’ve learned not to overreact to things and just believe everything you hear.” Imani says, “I realize now that you have to dig a little deeper and look at your source and kind of understand what they have to gain by telling you things.”

While it’s nice to know that Imani and Laura’s mended fences have lasted there is no doubt more drama left in the season, even with just one episode left. The season finale airs tonight (8pm ET) on VH1, with a two part reunion on the 21st and 28th of November. John Salley will once again be returning as host so you know the questions you want answered won’t be asked.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF IMANI’S INTERVIEW? IS IT ALL JACKIE’S FAULT OR IS THERE SOME TRUTH TO WHAT SHE SAYS? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT JOHN SALLEY RETURNING TO HOST THE REUNION?
