A day after we broke the news of Briana Wolfsmith’s elopement, more details are coming out!
For starters, did Briana inform her mother, Vicki Gunvalson of the Real Housewives of Orange County, about her plans to elope? Or did Vicki find out about her daughter’s wedding much later? Well, it appears the later might have been the case.
See Reality Tea has uncovered Briana’s marriage certificate (posted below), which shows she actually tied the knot with Marine Ryan Culberson on October 23, 2011.
This date is important as Vicki was busy announcing her daughter’s engagement on November 3! A week and a half after her daughter tied the knot in Las Vegas.
The November 3 date is, however, also significant as it’s listed as the “record date” on the marriage certificate. The “marriage date” is 10/23/2011.
So did Briana tell her mom she was engaged almost 2 weeks after tying the knot? It would appear so. Unless Vicki was simply trying to keep the Real Housewives of OC season 7 storyline under wraps.
We will find out soon. The RHOC continues to film and is scheduled to debut on Bravo very early next year. As for Vicki, she has yet to respond to our original report, simply tweeting the following yesterday: “Im thankful for my family and fans.”
Vicki and daughter Briana have had their ups and downs. Vicki even revealed on the RHOC reunion back in June that Briana “turned on” her and started being disrespectful to her after she chose to divorce husband Donn Gunvalson.
Our insider tells us the union between the recently divorced Ryan and Briana was a “quick engagement and marriage.” Below is Briana’s Vegas wedding certificate -

I have different view on eloping and this is my opinion only. There are certain milestones that parents really look forward to (high school/college graduation, marriage and grandchildren). If one of my 3 kids went and eloped, yeah, I would be very hurt to not be included.
Dont know what relationship Vicky & Brianna have, but speaking as a mom, Im sure Vicky is upset she missed her only daughters special day. Maybe they will end up having another ceremony where all the family (on both sides) can celebrate with the new couple.
24 is not to young to get married. I got married at 24 and here I am 14 yrs later still happily married. It has nothing to do w/age, it is all about picking the right person and getting married for the right reasons. Good luck to Brianna.
Briana did the right thing for herself. Vicki would have tried to control the entire situation. Briana is a grown woman and needs to make her own way in life. She will
make mistakes like the rest of us, but I’m
sure she’ll them from them as well. Vicki is
all about control. She literally forced her son into the insurance business. He’ll be the next

Briana and Ryan are a beautiful couple. Congratulations and warm wishes for a very happy life together. I am happy to see her taking control of her life and doing what makes her happy. Vicki has made a mess of her own life. I believe Briana knows this and she will not make the same stupid mistakes. She is a bright and lovely woman.Congrats Ryan and Briana!!!
Brianna saw her mother live in an abusive marriage and an unhappy marriage. Vicki sadly has two failed marriages behind her and doesn’t seem to be making good choices presently. Of course Brianna wouldn’t want to include her in her marital affairs. She’s probably very fearful that she’ll follow in her mothers footsteps. Children learn what is modeled for them. Brianna is smart, practical and cautious. Best wishes to her and her husband. I hope they’ll be happy and have a successful marriage. Hopefully Vicki will learn something from her daughter.

Hopefully, Vicki will keep her snout out of her daughter’s marriage. It is too late for Vicki to learn anything — she thinks she knows what is best for everyone, although she is clearly clueless when it comes to relationships.

Vicki is a control freak, Brianne did the right thing, I just hope she moves FAR FAR away from her meddlesome Mom.
Brianna is a good girl, and she’s choosing a modest lifestyle with a career that is service oriented. It is possible that her new husband was soon deploying or leaving for training. I feel moreso, that it has to do with BRAVO and perhaps trying to avoid being reeled into having to have her wedding on cameras. Look historically, even Pandora’s wedding planning is being shown on the current BH season. Brianna seems to be very private and guarded, in that regard.
Everyone recall the episode where Vicki drove up to her apartment and gave her that car? Brianna knew that Vicki’s intentions were to have leverage. If Vicki did attend her wedding, my bet is that Brianna told her the day before or even the day of.
As a Mother myself, I desperately want to feel some sympathy for Vicky in this situation. Vicky just is not a very nice person and I cannot feel sorry for her.
Briana is living proof that sometimes despite all odds a young person emerges from reality TV with a good head on her shoulders without ego and WITH a sense of pride in service to others. Now she’s found her love, her Marine. I do not blame her one bit to want to keep her day HER day and do it HER way. Good for you, Briana, good for you! With a mother like she has (who we all know she loves very much) it took courage to make the choices she made. Like so many here, I wish this extraordinary young woman all the love, happiness and solid family bliss that her and her husband’s hearts can hold!

Vicki truly is the mirror of a “W” and reminds me of that old “Copacabana” song. Thirty years later and much older, wearing the same short dress, jewelry, feathers. She’s old and looks rediculous. So does Tamara. She used to be pretty but the botox is making her eyes small and monkey, with the monkey mouth to match. Do these women not see that botox distorts their face? Brianna doesn’t seem the type to want a HUGE TV Wedding and all details out there. That’s what Mom Vicky would have done. That said; I really like Vicky!! Vicky did admit on the “Reunion Show” that Brianna wasn’t living with her or speaking to her. Micheal wasn’t either. Not because of her Divorce.. Because of Vicky’s TOO FAST New Boyfriend!! Brianna in her own words said “I was going to move out, but with my Mom’s divorce I don’t want her alone here. I’ll probably stay a couple more years”! Vicky’s SUDDEN Beau! Changed all that!

I can imagine Bryana’s elopement drove Vicki to the nut house but what choice did the poor girl have? Vicki was so controlling and kept Bryana her daughter in such a tight chastity belt that she finally rebelled and did the logical thing by getting the hell out of town with her man. I thought she was serious with Colby but this guy is much cuter and a Marine, to boot. vicki has always bashed men who don’t pay their childsupport – i.e. slade! but look who she is dating (thrown in jail 2x for not paying 2 different mothers). he is a loser and i feel people are right in saying she was seeing him for quite a while. last season (after their vow renewal) all you saw was don trying to communicate and asking vicki not to wk all the time and she’s never home. seems he was trying and she sabotaged the marriage. she’s made a huge mistake and briana feels the same. good luck to briana w/her marriage and her health! glad to see she’s taken her own path.
Vicki is the ugliest person I’ve ever seen on tv, and I mean on the inside. She may hide behind her “values” but she is no saint. Her kids need to live their own lives and she needs to but out. Her fake crying on tv when Brianna was having surgery was just about unbearable. Congratulations Brianna, hope your happy!

has anyone else noticed that Vicki all of a sudden makes all this time to spend with Brooks, yet she never had a min. for Don? I dont understand that. She even says on the show every episode now how she goes back and forth to Missississippi, goes on all these show trips ( catalina, vegas, etc ) and has Brooks with her every min.. Even when they tried to take her “Glamping”, she was on the phone with him the whole time. Now if she’d have just put that energy toward Don, alot of her marriage problems would be solved, . right? plus, I mean, lets get real, both men look similiar anyways, and I like Don alot better anyways… plus she seems to just be an overall TRAINWRECK, even with the new beau. Brianna was disrespectful if you ask me. She should have been an adult and told her mother and not on camera. If she didn’t want a big wedding then tell your mom off camera you want a small ceremony with family, few friends only. Now, apparently she is allowing her mom to throw them a big wedding. A bit late if you ask me. Also, why marry a man you barely know? What’s wrong with dating awhile longer? It’s a big step and should not happen at a drive through window.
Brianna made her own decision as did Vicki. Is Vicki clueless or what? That Brooks is a complete gold digger. His questions alone should make her question his motives.
