Teen Mom 2’s Leah Messer Didn’t Want A Divorce; Chelsea Houska Still Not Over Ex Adam

With Teen Mom 2 back on the rails, we’re likely to see the girls from MTV’s second cycle of the series everywhere we turn. If nothing else, it gives us a much needed break from stories about the ladies of the original Teen Mom, right? The upcoming issue of US Weekly is no exception, highlighting some of the messier relationships the girls face this season, like Leah Messer’s divorce and Chelsea Houska’s horrible relationship decisions.

According to the magazine, even though she’s the one who filed the divorce papers, Leah Messer, 19, is adamant that she had high hopes her marriage would last. She insists, “I wanted to go through counseling, but he didn’t. I wanted the divorce to stop.” The mother of 2-year-old twin girls with her ex-husband, 21-year-old Corey Simms reveals that up until the end, “I was trying to make it work.”

Of course, fast forward to July of this year — a mere month after the couple’s divorce was final — and Leah has met a new man, Jeremy Calvert, 22. After all she’d been through, Leah vowed, “I was never going to have a boyfriend again.” She even admits, “I was scared… I stood him up.” Of her new beau, Leah gushes, “He’s really mature.” As you recall, the lovebirds moved in together in October.

Speaking of people who make me want to shove a pencil in my eye lovebirds, Leah’s co-star Chelsea Houska, 20, is dishing to the magazine about her on-again-off-again relationship with cheating d-bag Adam Lind, the father of their two-year-old daughter Aubree. As of the magazine’s publication, the pair is currently off, but knowing these two, it’s only a matter of time before Adam is nice to Chelsea for a full ninety seconds causing her to fall head over heels and start supporting his freeloading ways.

While Adam has admitted to cheating on Chelsea multiple times, she admits, “I’m comfortable with him.” She continues, “It’s hard to let him go. I can’t even count how many times we’ve gotten back together!” Someone please give this poor girl some self-esteem!

Chelsea’s extremely supportive father joined her family, friends and all of MTV’s viewing population in thinking that his daughter’s relationship was “a trainwreck.” He, unlike Chelsea, must still remember those scathing text messages Adam sent his daughter on their episode of 16 and Pregnant. Of their recent, but now defunct, reconciliation, Chelsea reveals that her dad was “disappointed.”

She says, “I couldn’t explain to him why I do it — I don’t even know… I know it’s not right, but I do it anyway.” Perhaps Chelsea should figure that out and work on showing her daughter what it’s like to value and respect herself so Aubree doesn’t make the same mistakes.

It’s this kind of drama that has more viewers than ever tuning in to watch Leah, Chelsea and their co-stars Jenelle Evans and Kailyn Lowry. TVbytheNumbers.com is reporting that 4.2 million people watched last week’s season premiere, giving it the highest ratings of a premiere in the franchise. The number of viewers increased 21 percent from the show’s first season premiere, not to mention making December 6th, MTV’s most viewed Tuesday night in the network’s history. So, in the words of Chelsea’s father, it may be a “trainwreck” but we certainly can’t turn away from the aftermath.

A new episode of Teen Mom2 premieres tonight at 10PM ET on MTV.
