What first appeared to be just rumors now seems like the real deal as a new report is stating Emily Maynard is very close to signing on as the next Bachelorette!
Life & Style magazine reports that Emily, former Bachelor winner and ex-fiance of Brad Womack, has officially been asked by ABC to become the next Bachelorette.
Even better, Emily, 25, is reportedly very interested in the gig! “It’s basically a done deal,” a source close to Emily reveals. “She hasn’t signed the contract yet, but she’s fully on board.”
It appears Emily, single mother to 6-year-old Ricki, has had a change of heart as she stated last summer that she didn’t want the gig following her breakup with Brad.
Life & Style states Emily is ready to find love again and ABC believes she is perfect for The Bachelorette: “Emily is America’s sweetheart,” the source adds. “Fans are going to be thrilled! Everyone loved her.”

I don’t watch this show but I’m curious: is it just the same few couples that get rerouted through the show? Everytime they announce a ‘new’ bachelor/ette it seems that they have a connection to an old one.
I don’t watch this show, but I think it’s awful of her to go on another dating show and be away from her daughter for so long again. That’s where her focus should be-not finding a man on reality TV!
I guarantee they will put Brad on the show as one of the potential suitors. It would be ratings gold. I hope Emily doesn’t let that happen because she is just way too good for that self-centered, asshole.
@Bravo Insider – It’s almost always a finalist from the previous season that becomes the next Bachelor/Bachelorette… Ashley & Jillian had placed 3rd, Ali 4th, Deana tied for 1st in their respective seasons before becoming the bachelorette. Emily got 1st her season, so it makes sense. Same for the guys, except for Brad who got a do-over season.

Bryan – she was on Brad’s season. Also hope she has grown up a little – she needed more of a backbone. Think she was sheltered too much after her boyfriend was killed in plane crash. Maybe received a ring from family to save face since she was expecting.

Hooray! Finally a step up from ugly girls they’ve been having. It’s another retread but at least she’s pretty. The other bachelorettes..not so much.
Since when is this skank America’s sweetheart? Hasn’t she been slutting it up with some Nascar driver since not really ever being with Brad? She’s about the fakest southern, possible braindead bachelorette they’ve ever chosen. So glad I haven’t watched this show since Brad’s season.

Love, Love, Love Emily! I really hope she does it. She is so classy and so beautiful and I would love to watch all the guys go crazy! Plus she deserves to find love, but if she doesn’t, she would still be great on the show, she’s such a class act, it will be refreshing to have someone like her doing the show. Please do it, Emily!
