According to a new report, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has left rehab… for realz this time.
UsWeekly broke the news moments ago with a source telling the mag “Kim is doing well.” If you recall, Kim tried to leave rehab about two weeks ago, before the end of her 30 day stay, but the 47-year-old was ultimately convinced to stay. UsWeekly also reported back then that Kim was being “defiant” in rehab.
RadarOnline is also confirming the news. “Kim is out of rehab and staying in a hotel in Beverly Hills,” a source reveals. Kim’s sister Kyle Richards came out last week denying reports which stated Kim would be moving in with her after rehab.
This news comes as a bit of a surprise as Kim was supposed to stay at the Betty Ford Center until February. Kim’s early exit means she spent about 40 days or less in rehab. Perhaps it’s just me but Kim’s problems looked pretty severe on the show and I can’t help but wonder if 40 days was really enough to help kick her addiction issues. Here’s to hoping it was.
Moving on to the RHOBH reunion which was filmed last Thursday. It is being confirmed by the Wetpaint blog that Kim was indeed absent from the reunion. “Her presence was missed,” a show insider tells Wetpaint. “But that’s okay. Her recovery takes priority over the show and everyone is happy she’s getting the help she needs.”
Other reunion secrets revealed includes the fact that taping took all day. “They didn’t get out until just before 9 p.m.,” says the insider. “It was their longest reunion taping yet.” And yes Brandi Glanville and Dana Wilkey were both in attendance. However, the insider states that Bravo was very upset with Brandi over her publicity stunt/Las Vegas wedding last weekend and took out a little revenge on her.
LISA’S FORMER HOUSEMATE CEDRIC MARTINEZ SPILLS RHOBH SECRETS!
“Brandi was told to come really, really early,” the insider tells Wetpaint. “She arrived way before anyone else in the cast. Then, the producers just made her sit there and wait. She waited for hours. I think it was their way of messing with her.”
Also, Bravo did not shy away from Russell Armstrong’s suicide according to the report. “Each of the women was asked if they wanted to say anything about it,” reveals the insider. “Most of them shared their own thoughts.”
So can we expect some fireworks from the reunion? According to RadarOnline, that answer is NO. Bummer! “All of the main issues were addressed during the taping,” the source said. “But other than Brandi yelling there weren’t any huge fights.” The source adds, “Brandi was out of control… She was swearing at the other women and being obnoxious.”
Andy Cohen spoke out on the reunion and Taylor Armstrong in a new interview with ET Online. According to Andy, Taylor “didn’t shed a tear” at the reunion taping. “She is coming from a place of strength and recovery now,” he adds.
Andy also denies Bravo is to blame for Russell’s suicide stating he believes “personal and financial crisis” and a change in his medications contributed to his demise. Andy brings up a valid point when he cites that Russell’s business partner also took his own life.
“This was a man who signed up to be on a second season of a show,” Andy said in defense of the RHOBH. “This was a man that had expressed to producers that the first season of the show was very good for his business.”
The RHOBH season 2 finale will air on January 23, and the reunion will air January 30. There’s no word yet on whether this will be a one or two part reunion.
Moving on to tonight’s all the new episode of the RHOBH. On the 18th episode this season titled ‘A Day Late, An Apology Short,’ “Kim and her new beau finally arrive in Hawaii. Yet there’s trouble in paradise: They miss most of the activities and Kyle at long last confronts her sister about her bizarre behavior.”
The episode airs at 9/8c and a preview clip is below!

I live with a recovering addict/alcoholic and deal with this every day. I find it hard to believe with the family history, Big Kathy and Paris, that Kyle’s never hear of and been suggested to attend al-anon. Mmmm’s mother is a psychologist! She needs to get herself in therapy and work her own program. She cannot control her sister’s addiction but she can control her own actions which are abusively awful. This isn’t rocket science here but if Kim does not choose sobriety then Kyle can choose not to have her in her life. Also last season while in Palm Desert, they drove to the grocery store together in the same car! Kyle needs to look in the mirror and take accountability for her own behaviour. Betty Ford is a great facility so I’m sure they have a family therapy program as part of their treatment. Good luck Kim!! 1 minute at a time!
Listened to Ryan Seacrest’s radio interview w/ Kyle. High school daughter listens to music station. Kyle said that Kim got the help she needed. (I sure hope so.) Kyle likes Taylor, can see why she’d want to continue to be on the show, hope she spends the time needed w/ Kennedy (hint to Taylor), but can still see why she’d keep doing the show. Also, she wrote her book because twitter fans wanted makeup tips & marriage advice. Marriage advice? Um. Ok.
@301 Sue Shore…Excellent post.
Myself and many others on this board have had and still do have family members who abuse alcohol/substances, but we don’t use every social event as an opportunity to publicly voice our disapproval of said family member. There is a time and place for everything and Kyle has repeatedly used high profile events as opportunities to humiliate her sister. She gets off on it. It’s wrong. Yes, there is a great deal of frustration dealing with family members who use, but those of us who have learned how to stop enabling the user, and move on with our own lives, know that you DO NOT make the user the focus of your life (night, dinner, lunch, gathering, etc). To do so means you are allowing the user to control your life…WRONG. Kyle is as sick as Kim, Her behavior is inappropriate, and maybe even more so than Kim’s.
@Sue#3-1 – I totally agree with you, but Kyle won’t go to Alanon because living her own life means she would miss out on all the drama that Kim brings to the table. Kyle, above all else, loves DRAMA. She’s even conditioned her husband to love the drama.
Another poster stated that Kyle’s behavior is O.K. and that, “anyone who has an alcholic/substance abuser in their family would understand.” Well, I don’t understand. A lot of us have learned to live our lives without making the family alcoholic/druggie the focus of our daily lives. We know that to do so makes us co-dependent and in many ways just as sick as the user. Kyle may not abuse alcohol/drugs to the extent that Kim does, but she has allowed the illness to dictate her relationship with Kim, and she uses social events as opportunities to try and spread the illness even further into her social circle. How sick is that? If ever there was someone who needed Alanon, it’s Kyle.
Both Kim and Ken were hitting the coke hard, thus all the sniffing and nose rubbing.
@304 and 305 Ceejay…..Well said, you took the words right out of my mouth!
Iris thanks. CeeJay, you hit are spot on regarding the co-dependency of Kyle. While Kim is using Kyle can feel superior and belittle her. I’m sure this goes way back to their childhood when Kim was considered the superior child actress. In my journey with an addict I learned to praise the positive and ignore the negative. We support the sobriety and recovery but not the active addiction. I would imagine dealing with a family of origin member is much easier than an immediate family member who lives with you. CeeJay you seem to grasp this concept well. Good for you! I hope you find peace. Kyle does love the drama with Taylor also and feeling superior to her.
All the posts are perfectly written and project great insight to the awful disease of addiction. Family members are most always enablers for the simple fact that they love the addict and think that they are doing what is best for them hense the need for them to also get treatment such as allanon, therapy ect. Until they get the insight into addiction they will continue to enable. They dont understand that the smallest thing can be considered enabling because all they know is that they love this person and want to help but in helping it makes the addiction and addict thrive. My son is an addict and until I went thru therapy I didnt understand that I was doing nothing but loving him to death, loterally. Go easy on Kyle. Hopefully she’ll soon get therapy and then will actually understand the complexity of addiction and an addicts. God bless and I wish Kim and her intire family the best!!!!!!!!!
*literally* *addict* Whoops sorry!!!!!!!!!
*entire* Lawd sorry for the typos!!!!!! Was too emotional when writing I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you guys knew what I meant tho!!!!!!!!!!! Thxs!!!!
Agree that Kyle is codependent. But, in season 1, I seem to recall Kyle saying that when their Mom was on her deathbed, she made Kyle promise to look after Kim. If that’s true, we now know why that request was made. To me, it helps to explain why Kyle can’t (or won’t) abide by the rules of dealing w/an addict.
Does anyone else find it interesting that Kim left rehab immediately after the reunion show was filmed?
@ Ho Ho Ho I believe when she wanted to leave the first time someone must have reminded her that she would be obligated to go to the reunion. So stay in rehab until it’s over and you’ll be safe.Sadly, I don’t think that we will be seeing Kim next season.
Lets all pray that kim got some kind of help while she was away. She was not in good shape. I am not all sure that 40 days will be enough time though. It takes a good 30 just for the initial detox. She also tried to leave before her time was up hmmmm. I agree with @314 Beckygrey that they reminded her of the reunion and she weighed the odds and chose rehab. OUCH! I read that Brandi was a mess at the reunion but I like her. She has grown on me and she is funny. It was weird to read what Andy said about Taylor. To hear she “didn’t shed a tear” at the reunion taping and that “She is coming from a place of strength and recovery now,” is WEIRD! Her husband just died 5 months ago. She sure does get over stuff pretty damn fast! Her book is out in a month too so Bravo will make her look as good as they can because they want a nice payday! They get money from every business transaction these women make! I guess next week is where he hits her and they have it on film? Thats the only way I would believe her. She gives me the creeps!
That was the worst episode in RHOBH history. Starting out with a fart sequence? Followed by a hideously crass wedding? And then wrapping up with avoidance of a suicide and glossing over Kim’s treatment for her OBVIOUS drug problem??? What were the producers thinking. B-O-R-I-N-G, anti-climactic (look it up), and disrespectful!
And when is the show gonna defend itself against the emails that Cedric released which proved the producers and Lisa planned and “overly scripted” the Sur confrontation?
Taylor coming from a place of strength? Anyone else notice that Taylor only got out of the abusive relationship after she was kept from a party? Where was the concern for her daughter then? Air time, straight up.
No one is responsible for Russell’s death except himself! A person who kills himself, is insane and not right in the head. No one provokes a person to kill themselves…its a mental illness.
I can stand Kyle and Adrienne! Adrienne’s voice pains me and Kyle is pathetic!!
Oh and I love Kyle, the loving sister she is, exposes all her sisters problems on national tv, rips her apart in front of a table full of people, and then wonders why Kim doesn’t open up to her and tells Andy Kim should answer herself about he problem. Really Kyle? You’re the one who told the world she was an alcoholic last season? She’s a horrible sister!! She thinks her and dumbass husband are perfect. Eh she disgusts me!
