I’m not sure if I am scared or excited about the return of VH1′s Love & Hip Hop. It’s no secret that many of the antics of the ladies on the show left me cringing with every recap, but there is going to be quite a shift in casting. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!
Anyone who watched last season knew of the discord between Chrissy Lampkin and producer Mona-Scott Young. Viewers wondered if a show without Chrissy, her now fiance Jim Jones, and everyone’s favorite, Jim’s mom (!!!), would even be a show at all. Who wants to watch a program void of a mumbling Jim and a “pyhsicotic bitch”? Not this gal. I love me some Mama Jones!

S2S is now reporting that Mama Jones confirmed that “they” were leaving the show for “their own spin-off.” I know that “they” includes Jim and Chrissy, as they had been gunning for their own show, but does “they” also include Mama Jones? Perhaps she could do cross-overs on both Love & Hip Hop and Jim’s new gig? The site is also confirming that Emily Bustamante is also not returning. No surprise there, as she’s Chrissy’s biffle. I do hate to see Emily go, as she was the clearly the calmest and classiest of the bunch, but let’s face it, calm and classy and reality television don’t really mix!
Emily recently tweeted, “There will be a 3rd Season of #loveandhiphop NY but I will not be a cast member. The show was a great experience.. Thank you Mona & Stefan.”
She is also quick to denounce that any beef with Kimbella Vanderhee influenced her decision not to return. As you recall, Kimbella famously admitted to Emily that she’d dated Emily’s man Fabolous thinking he was single. While Emily says the pair didn’t “date” and Kimbella just performed a “sex act” on the rapper, she also claims that she has no issues with her former co-star.
The ever classy Emily squashes those rumors on twitter, saying, “For the record I have no problem with @kimbellasworld. Best of luck on the show and congrats on the newest addition to ur family.” My guess for her reason to leave? Emily is above the drama and fighting, and she wants to focus on her son and her life away from that craziness.
All of the shifts lead the returning Somaya Reece to tweet, “@VH1iNFO No one is coming back lol smh RIP #loveandhiphopNYC.” I’m assuming she’ll be joined by Olivia Longott, a preggers Kimbella, and a very preggers Yandy Smith. A picture of the two moms-to-be is below.
And finally, if you can’t wait for the original ladies to return (sans the Jones clan), you can whet your appetite with Atlanta’s version of the show. A press release follows describing this summer’s guilty pleasure:
“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” is a tale of struggle, love, and temptation with a southern twist. Atlanta is the new frontier in entertainment, the Dirty South, where the opportunity to make it big in the rap game is always one hustle away. Competition is fierce in both the professional and personal arenas — they love hard but leave even harder. Among the main characters in this 10-episode series are Stevie J, a three-time Grammy Award-Winning producer who has worked with artists such as Diddy, Jay-Z and Mariah Carey, Stevie’s longtime girlfriend Mimi Faust, and a fiery up-and-coming Latina rapper named Joseline. There’s no shortage of drama with this strong-willed trio. There is no doubt this group will bring the dramz just like their predecessors.

I call BS, Emily is leavin because she and Fab are back together and he doesn’t want her to be on the show any longer. Looks like she got what she wanted and this show worked for her after all.
@3 – ITA! she’s a beautiful girl, and she could have any guy she wants that would treat her like a lady and love her like she so desperately needs to be, but she wants this dumb rapper. i don’t understand. oh, and let’s not even get started on psychotic (or should i say, physchotic) chrissy. she needs professional help. i’m glad they’re both leaving. i liked yandy, gorgeous and feisty somaya and even ditzy kimbella the most.
That’s a shame because Emily really did bring some class to the show. She was by far my fave. Good riddance to Chrissy. She was a nobody who thought she was somebody.
I see Kimbella’s been working on her financial planning (aka child support!) Get that money, girl! Haha!
About Emily, I hear that it’s Fab who put a lid on it and forbade her to return on the show. I guess he didn’t like that Em’s star was eclipsing his and making him look so bad on national TV.
Chrissy turned into a monster season 2. I’m glad she’s gone.
Christie has got to be soooo pissed that the two women she hated the most on the show are having what she wanted most – babies! Glad she won’ t be back since she’s a kicker and might hurt one of the ladies. Good riddance to bad rubbish, all three garbage cans full!
@4 u are absolutely correct!! Fab shut Emily down on containing to be a part of that show!! SMH Emily probably had the nerve to grab some self esteem thru filming and Fab would have none if that!!! Lol
That whole show was a cluster f*ck. I can’t say I’ll miss Chrissy “Booger” Lampkin she was the ultimate hoodrat. I just do not understand what would possess a woman of her age to act in public the way she did…totally classless.
As to Emily, half the time I didn’t even know when she was on….*shrugs shoulders*

@14, ITA. Not fighting doesn’t equal classy. She is a delusional woman who mindlessly chases behind a man who refused to claim her for the first 8 years of their relationship. He has been seen and photographed more with her bff than her, and in the pics with the bff; he had more chemistry. It’s been rumored for years that he was sleeping with her bff, Ms. Cheetah Girl, Adrienne B. Then, she moves out and has a Free-from-Fab party, all to just get back with him. Desperate!

If I were her I wouldn’t want anyone see the extent I went to, to get someone who didn’t respect me…nor me disrespecting myself.
But I do wish her and her family well. And my girl…YANDY SMITH CONGRATS MOMMY!

@18 – i’m confused. the only chicks on this show that have children are emily and kimbella? and as far as i know, neither of them are receiving child support in the legal sense.
And those are the ones I’m referring to as prostitutes. And Chrissy has her lifestyle supported by Jim. She could be considered one too.
Oh and Kimbella looks HORRIBLE in those pics! The hair, outfit, greasy face = YUCK! And she posted them on Instagram so you know those are the “good” ones!!

First, who cares if they’re leaving?? Emily is only going because someone must have been in her ear! I can honestly say i wont be watching their spin off. Chrissy is a jobless gold digger and Jim Jones is washed up. He needs to keep his grown ass off of reality television and sit down somewhere. Your career is over, Jim. Stop it! (in my Evelyn Lozada voice) I hate how celebrities go to reality tv to try to stay relevant or make a ‘comeback’. Its ridiculous. And i will not be watching the Atlanta Love and Hip Hop because the cast sounds like trash. Who the hell are them anyway??
I don’t know why lauren is saying that Emily was so classy. She was weak minded and made sure to take jabs at Kimbella even when the situation was resolved. Coming to Kim’s party and dissing her. Emily is a coward and she is nothing value added for the show.
I loved Mama Jones…I knew they were angling for a spin off but I doubt it will do well.

Who wants Love and Hip Hop to revolve around Jim Jones and the Dip Set? Jim Jones is the worst Rapper around and Chrissy and her ass kissing home girls will truly not be missed. Chrissy’s sad sack crew: Emily and the Olivia. What does Chrissy do besides fight? What does Olivia do, other than keep her lies going? Who wanrs to see a weak woman, distraught because her man does not want to commit?
Who wants to hear Jim Jones second rate non-entertaining rap? Love and Hip Hop needs real rappers and their wives and girl friends. We need people with style a real fashion sense; Chrissy and Emily are two wide bodies they need to get a life and a real job. Moving right along to bigger and better things!
Classy and cowardly can co-exist in a personality. She’s classy because she’s not sleeping around, throwing drinks, making ridiculous yelling scenes, flashing her goodies, etc. She may be weak (and I think she is) but she does carry herself with class. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Does Basketball Wives have all BBW’s? Nope. Are all the Real Housewives actual wives? Nope. So will Love and Hip Hop represent Hip Hop? Sadly, no. They are all people who are associated with B and C listers.

I watched a few shows one yelling and screaming scene after another. Jim Jones and Chrissy need the money records are not selling like they use to. He never really had solid hits anyway, song here song there. That will not cut it in today’s market (son)
I wonder how Jim Jones feels about letting Chrissy run off his manager and the ex producer and now what do they have….no marriage not children no vehicle for expression. Oh, just one more No Talent!
Chrissy came off insecure and too emotional on season 2. She cleared away all women from Jim that she viewed as a threat, even if they really were not. Gonna miss Mama Jones, that’s about it. Everyone else seems replaceable.
Mona will have no problem to find another insecure psycho like Chrissy and another lame like Emily….took me 3 episodes to hate watching it……I will miss Momma Jones though,,,,
I can live without Chrissy, she really needs an attitude adjustment, good riddance! They need to add some new cast members, and it’ll be better!!!

Emilie I can TOTALLY believe that Fab put her on lockdown, because her original intent was to come on the show and air their dirty laundry. It’s sad that she has to resort to those types of tactics just to rope in your ‘baby’s daddy’ if the man doesn’t want to be with you, keep it moving, plenty of fish in the sea.
Momma Jones I will miss seeing her sassiness, But Chrissy can bounce. probably the only reason I would endeavor to watch their spin off is to see Momma Jones, if I watch it at all.

Hell NO I won’t be watching, I like Olivia but she is boring, Somya or what ever her name is kinda boring too I cant stand Yandy nor Kimbella so Love and Hip Hop is off my list well for the new york cast!

Judging from all the Drama on RHOA, the overall vibe of Atlanta, The Fact that Women Reign 6 to 1 in Atlanta, and the fact that the Music/Entertainment Industry seems not live by ANY/Normal Rules… Im sure this new show will replace the viewers daily dosage in the Drama and Excitement Dept.
I still like Emily. She’s fine, its her life, her heart… who are we to judge.
Also, Just b/c Emilys Mans Indiscretions seem to be the only ones discussed on the show, Dont for a Second believe that she is the only one who is facing (or ignoring) this stuff and is STAYING…

Howeverm the MEDIA is not seeking to expose THESE Men like they are some type of ROLEMODELS… They are not… The public already knows these guys are No Type of Denzels, Will Smith’s, George Clooney’s, or Cheating Ashton’s for that matter.

I didn’t like how Emily thought she was somehow better than Kimbella, because at the end of the day they are both women who have babies with c-list rappers with no rings. You’ve been with a man nine years, have his baby, and all you have to show for it is no ring and sadness over his cheating. Emily was pathetic. From season 1, I couldn’t stand her. She went out of her way to find out the real deal on Olivia’s love life for what? Um..no life perhaps?
@Tamara A Comparison of Kimbella and Emily IS NO TIE. Emily is/has been commited/dedicated to her family & relationship (& has a stable career based off of her creativity & skill) wheras Kimbella (living off of look and looks only) is a NAME HOPPING mother of three, who at the time had a child by an NFL Star, and in the time frame of “Dating” (a Jump) Fab for a bit, JUMPED to the Next Rapper (who knows who came in between), but was preg by the next rapper within a year after meeting. Also, Kimbella is Lacking in Common Sense in feeling that not only is it okay to rapper/celeb hop, but it is okay to reveal the business of your sheets on National TV… before your MAN even knew you were with his friend.
Now that is just based off of what we’ve seen on the show… who knows what else Emily May know that entitles her to feel the way she does. Bottom Line: Kimbellas a Fast Chick, (Speeding through the Industry, on her body and looks) who may one day suddenly become all about her family while Emily is Classy, Reserved, & Family Oriented.
Maybe in the knew Jones Show Chrissy will be shown in another light IF She has no other women to be Jealous, feel threatened by, and fight like a nutcase
Kimbella is a sweet girl who was bullied by Emily and Chrissy. This girl told Emily to her face that she was with fab, she didn’t hide it. Then stupid Chrissy comes out of nowhere and assaults her. When Kimbella tried to apologize Emily didn’t care and just kept up with the verbal insults as if it’s Kimbella’s fault that Fab is a dog. Btw, People don’t know that Kimbella actually has a master’s degree and was thinking of pursuing a career in pharmacy before she was approached to be a model. It’s not her fault she’s pretty. Emily is insecure and malicious. Her innocent facade is a joke. That’s my opinion. Everyone else is entitled to theirs.
@45 – ITA! emily might be reserved and family-oriented, but she’s dumb and mean and a total weakling. kimbella might be a bit ditzy, but she seems to stick up for herself, and i don’t think she’s stupid at all. she’s a sweetheart, and it was wrong of emily to blame her for her boyfriend’s indiscretions. she’s a loser for taking him back, and as a result, i’ve lost quite a bit of respect for her.
