The Bachelorette’s Kalon McMahon Walked Away From The Show Feeling Bitter; Says His Bad Boy Edit Is “Comical”

Season 3 of Bachelor Pad premieres very soon! Thrown into the mix of Bachelor and Bachelorette losers (and, ugh, super fans) this season is fan favorite Kalon McMahon. Kalon is the pretentious “luxury brand consultant” who offended Emily Maynard when he referred to her daughter Ricki as “baggage.”

Needless to say, Kalon’s journey on the Bachelorette did not end well. Kalon’s unapologetic ways and big personality, however, make him a perfect fit for Bachelor Pad. Something went right at the Pad, because Kalon agrees!  “I’m so glad I did Bachelor Pad. It was like night and day from Bachelorette. I had the most amazing time doing it, and I’m ready for fans to see me in a new light,” Kalon told Celebuzz.

When asked about his experience on Bachelorette, Kalon sings a much different tune. Kalon is not happy about the “bad boy” edit he received.

“I thought it was rather entertaining because never in my life have I been called a bad boy or a villain,” Kalon told Celebuzz. “I understand they have a television show to make, and unfortunately the rest of the season was rather dull, so they had to run with me being a bad boy, apparently.”

Kalon adds, “I’ve been called many things, but certainly not a bad boy. Most of the people who know me think it’s comical that I’m portrayed that way.”

Kalon admits that he walked away from the show feeling very annoyed about the whole experience. “I was a little bitter after the Bachelorette. I didn’t get anything out of it,” he said. “I gave up six weeks of my life and nothing was reciprocated.”

Now, that’s a lie. He did get a couple of roses and a ride in a helicopter.

All that said, Kalon still doesn’t regret signing up for the Bachelorette.

“Going into this show, you prepare for the worst, and even whatever you prepare yourself for, it is nothing like that. You have no control over what’s going on. But it’s a rare opportunity and an adventure, so I have no regrets,” Kalon said.

Who is the real Kalon – the pompous jerk we saw on the Bachelorette or the fun-loving do-gooder he claims to be? Who cares! Throughout the entire season of the Bachelorette, Kalon is the only guy that brought any hint of genuine personality out of Emily Maynard. I, for one, cannot wait to watch him get down and dirty on Bachelor Pad.

Bachelor Pad 3 premieres Monday, July 23 on ABC.
