Has Jersey Shore’s Situation Fallen Off the Wagon? Watch the Season 6 Trailer!

Um, we've got a Situation here.  Man, typing that never gets old!  Just in time for tonight's two hour Jersey Shore season premiere, news is breaking all over the place that Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has fallen off the wagon.  Sitch entertained us with his abs in earlier season, but as the guidettes and juiceheads gained international notoriety, he seemed to have difficulty handling the fame.  In recent seasons, it was obvious that he didn't just love the booze.

I don't think anyone was shocked when Mike entered rehab for prescription pill addiction.  It's going to be an interesting final season with the two biggest partiers out of commission due to Snooki's pregnancy and Mike's sobriety, although I am thrilled for both of them.  However, now that Lorenzo has arrived and the show has seen it's last fist pump, will the Situation be able to maintain?

If this were any other show or any other dude, I'd say that this has PR stunt written all over it.  The timing is too perfect.  Of course, having been a huge fan (embarrassing, I know) of this show since the beginning, I can totally see how Mike could feel lost now that all is said and done.

A source tells US Weekly that the thirty-year-old reality star "isn't sober anymore," and just last week a witness at a bar in West Hollywood saw him "downing so many cocktails, he could barely stand."

While Mike's rep strongly denies this claim, saying, "He has not been drinking," an insider close to The Situation reveals, "Mike's freaking out about what he's going to do after the show."

However, Mike did just share with Ellen DeGeneres that he is eight months sober.  So what gives?  Naughty but Nice Rob chalks it up to a case of mistaken identity.  He tweeted yesterday, "Ignore reports is drinking again. Spoke with his manager who was with him last night in LA. He's definitely NOT drinking."  Yeah, because his manager would have no reason to deny that story…

In all seriousness, I do hope that all is well with Mike, and I look forward to GTL-ing with the overly orange during their last season.  A double episode of Jersey Shore premieres tonight on MTV at 10PM ET.
