RHOC’s Gretchen Rossi Secures Restraining Order Against Jay Photoglou

Oh good gracious, I don't even know where to begin.  It's absolutely amazing to me how all of the housewives from every last franchise are able to keep their names in the media when their shows are on hiatus.  You'd think they'd appreciate the break!

This time around, we've got Gretchen Rossi from Real Housewives of Orange County scoring a restraining order against former boyfriend/alleged stalker (depending on you believe) Jay Photoglou.  In the lawsuit Gretchen waged against Jay for slander, stalking, assault, and infliction of emotional distress, the jury believed the latter, awarding Gretchen $500,000 in damages.  I bet Tamra Barney feels pretty stupid now.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but when she and Gretchen were on the outs, didn't Tamra and Jay have each other on speed dial to share juicy Gretchen gossip?

According to TMZ, in addition to Gretchen's hefty award, she has also acquired a three year restraining order against Photoglou.  If you recall, Jay came forward pre-Slade Smiley to accuse Gretchen of cheating on her dying fiance with him.  Gretchen then took him to court, claiming he was a lying dirt bag (I don't doubt the dirt bag part one bit) who was hell bent on trashing her name in the media.

Gretchen's attorney, Gregory G. Brown, petitioned the court for a permanent restraining order against her former ex, and the judge granted it yesterday.  Jay is not allowed to come within 100 yards of Gretchen, nor is he permitted to contact any of her places of business, including Bravo and RHOC.

For her part, Gretchen is relieved to put the ordeal behind her.  She tells the site, "I'm pleased the judge recognized the danger Photoglou posed."  I know there's a joke somewhere which uses "posed" and references the situation between Gretchen and Jay, but I'll refrain.  I'm glad this character will now hopefully be fading into obscurity.

TELL US-DO YOU BELIEVE THAT GRETCHEN CHEATED ON JEFF WITH JAY?  DID SHE NEED A RESTRAINING ORDER?
