Mob Wives Chicago Canceled; VH1 Decides Against A Second Season!
A VH1 spokesperson confirmed the cancelation. It’s just sad; it had so much potential,” Pia Rizza commented to the Chicago Sun Times.
“I guess I have to go back to work,” Pia lamented. “Where that’s going to go I have no idea because I don’t have the show.”

Mob Wives Chicagao was also produced by Renee Graziano‘s sister and show creator Jennifer Graziano. Despite the ladies leaping out of the gate with serious drama, including fighting, many viewers thought it seemed staged and fabricated and the show only pulled about 500,000 viewers per episode.
Pia blames the network’s decision to air the pilot show on Sunday night during the Summer Olympics. “It was a terrible time to be aired at Sunday nights in the summer.”
Fellow castmate Leah DeSimone believes the network didn’t promote the show enough. “I don’t feel we were advertised enough. Season two would have brought a lot more ratings than season one,” she explains. “We didn’t film a reunion, but I can assure you it would have been very juicy.”
Leah says she had a feeling the show wouldn’t be returning when the network opted not to do the reunion. Despite their brief moment in the spotlight and having their reality TV hopes dashed, neither woman regrets joining the show.
“That was just my stepping stone,” Leah says. “I know I’m an asset to TV. I didn’t know that about myself prior to the show … I will be back in the industry. I will be on bigger screens.”
Pia says she’s paralleling her experience into starting her own business. “Everything is a learning experience in life.” And she still wants to share her story with the world. “I have so much to tell and there’s no season two to continue my story.”
Despite it’s decision to cancel the Chicago series, VH1 isn’t giving up on expanding the franchise. Jennifer Graziano is currently in the process of working on either a Philadelphia or Miami version!
“Both are cast” she told the NY Post earlier this year, “It’s now up to VH1 to decide which one to do.”
