Instead of getting new ink, Courtland opted to have an existing Confederate flag-themed tattoo colored in, explaining, "So I gotta tattoo finished that was in dedication to my grandma. She always told me if I was gonna do that to my body then I had to have that … she picked it out, not me!"
Despite the explanation, Courtland was asked if he's a racist, to which he replied, "I love black people!! This tattoo was dedication to my grandma." When Courtland was then asked if grandma was a racist, he replied, "Hell no! The flag don't just mean racist!! It was her culture back then!! Of course there's gonna be a hater."
Jenelle added, “His grandmother actually owned the very first railroads here in NC … His grandmother asked him to get this tatt.”
