Season 2 of Shahs of Sunset has taken Bravo viewers by storm. The hard-partying Persian crew has learned from its network counterparts and created some over-the-top drama. Friendships have been formed and destroyed. Relationships break-up as quickly as they began. Whether Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi is swimming in whiskey and battling Asa Soltan Rahmati or Reza Farahan is stirring the pot, people are watching, and they are enthralled. Of course, don't even get me started on the shallowness of self-proclaimed Persian Barbie Lilly Ghalichi!
Mercedes "MJ" Javid was at the center of controversy this season, as she tried to play the middle man for friends turned foes. Her partying was called into question, and her relationship with biffle Reza suffered. Not phased, MJ has been sharing her path to self-confidence. As she should…MJ and cast mates have almost reached Housewives franchise status. The gang is getting a two-part reunion and a lost footage show. That's how you know you've arrived, Bravo style!

MJ has recently opened up about feeling comfortable in her own skin after years of struggling with her weight. Now, after working on her inner self, the reality star exudes confidence and loves her curves. However, she tells Access Hollywood that wasn't always the case. MJ reveals, “When I was 14 years old, a doctor — an internist — put me on diet pills, which is really like amphetamines. It was terrible and I felt physically sick from it.”
After initially trying the pills, MJ says she quickly realized it wasn't right for her, admitting, “It didn’t last — trust me. As soon as I actually put two and two together, I was like, this doctor’s a quack. There’s no way!”
Now, MJ realizes that she is in total control of her body image, advising, “When enough days and years go by where you’re sort of waiting to be something you’re not, you realize your whole life can go by and you can just waste time thinking that you need to do something." Adding, "Once [I] let go of that need to be something else [and] relaxed, I feel great about what I am and what I look like, and then [shed] a couple of pounds without even trying.”
Not even her co-stars catty remarks about her figure showing fashion choices can get MJ in a funk. She explains, “I’m just gonna be really happy today with who I am. Striving for perfection is BS because then you’re going to stay home and hide. I’d rather just be cool with what I have!”
MJ even shares that she's working to reconcile with her mother. Viewers have watched their strained relationship since the show started. She says, “[My mom] wants everything to be perfect – she wants every hair in place and it’s never going to be that way. So I basically established boundaries with her. Things with my mom are [up and down]. [Now] I adjust my attitude. The [younger] generation has the obligation to make it better.”
