Bethenny Frankel On New Talk Show: “Everybody Is A Show Topic”

It's been quite a week for Bethenny Frankel, especially after Friday's hearing in her divorce from Jason Hoppy.  Now, she's focusing on more positive things, like her upcoming talk show. The Bethenny Ever After star calls her hour-long daily sitdown "a public girls' night out," and she's not shy about the topics she plans to highlight…and those she plans to bypass.

Speaking to ABC about the premise for her show, Bethenny explains, “I just have found as you get older, women insulate a little more because they’re just so busy and have so much going on. They don’t really get the chance to really sit down and talk about their marriages, their money problems, their sex problems, infidelity issues.  That’s what my talk show is about.”

When asked about the time she shares with daughter Bryn, Bethenny believes that it's not the amount of time that's important, but rather what you choose to do with that time.  She reveals, “It’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality of time.  I notice the most rewarding time is just the time when we’re just sitting and talking or playing or something as simple as just taking a bath, which can be only 10 to 15 minutes, makes you just feel so good because it’s a good quality time.”

She plans on pulling inspiration for the talk show from the real life experiences of herself and her friends, sharing, “All the content will be driven by me and people that I know.  It’s been fun for everyone around me because, whether it’s people on Twitter, whether it’s my friends, whether it’s my friends’ husbands, they’ll say to me, ‘Alright, here’s something for your show,’” adding, "Everybody is a show topic."

Bethenny focuses her sharp tongue on the fascination the public has with Kim Kardashian, promising that her show won't have such silly topics.  She says, “Fame is a rose. It has petals and thorns, so you just keep it moving.  No one is really crying for Kim Kardashian. She’s not the first person to ever have a baby and gain weight. It’s kind of ridiculous that that’s news.”

Of her past on Real Housewives of New York, Bethenny states, “I don’t really think about that that much.  It was a place and time and I’m very grateful to Bravo and the opportunity, and this ‘Skinnygirl’ baby was born on that show, but I don’t really give that much thought to it…I don’t really watch that much either because of my daughter."

It sounds like Bethenny will be too busy with her new show to waste any time thinking about her old ones…
