Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’s June Shannon Is Determined To Keep Her Family Grounded…Thanks To Cheese Balls

Honey Boo Boo in Manhattan

They're baaa–ack!  And no one is more happy about it than this girl.  Y'all know I think the Thompson-Shannons of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo put the "real" back in reality television.  Sure, they are unhealthy, and they may not set the best example in every aspect of their lives, they are certainly much smarter than they get credit for from most viewers.

June Shannon wants to make sure her daughters never feel entitled.  She's often said that this crazy ride can end just as quickly as it started, so she isn't going to change how they once lived.  Now in the second season of the family's hit TLC show, she seems hell bent on continuing that trend, as evidenced on last week's first episode.

In the upcoming issue of Us Weekly, June refuses to let fame affect her family, revealing, “My girls didn’t grow up with a lot of labels or anything.  I always tell them, ‘Be who you are. If people don’t like you, oh well.’ ”

In this season's premiere, June proved her point when her girls' chores were usurped by their "electronical" devices.  She then confiscated the phones and placed them in a receptacle we all know she'd guard with such zeal..the cheese ball container.  She tells the magazine, "I take away iPads, iPods, phones, electronics, and 99 percent of the time, you’ll get results.”

Judge if you will, but I think she may be on to something!  Sadly, June's life isn't all processed food and family fun.  The magazine's site is reporting that the sketti making matriarch is now legally blind due to poorly treated childhood cataracts.

A spokesperson for TLC recently shared, "She can't have surgery because they believe it could do more harm than good.  The damages are that bad."

While June doesn't dwell on the negative (and if you watch the show, you know she never does!), she is proud of how her family has handled the overnight catapult into American pop culture.  She explains, "It can end as quick as it begins.  I don't think we're going anywhere anytime soon, but you never know."

Welcome back, forklift foot.  Welcome back.
