Real Housewives Of Miami’s Joanna Krupa Commends Poland For Stopping The Use Of Animals In Military Training

rhom-joanna-krupa

Real Housewives of Miami's Joanna Krupa truly is PETA's princess. Yesterday, the Polish model and reality star sent a letter to Poland Minister of National Defense Tomasz Siemoniak commending him for putting a stop to using animals in the military training of medical personal. Instead, modern human simulators will be replacing animals after almost 30,000 people signed a petition on PETA's website. Not surprisingly, studies show that medical providers trained on the life-like human simulators are better prepared than those who learned on dismembered animals.

Poland now joins more than 80 percent of NATO countries that do not harm animals in the name of training. The U.S. has yet to make the switch. Of the news, Joanna states, "The U.S. is so progressive in so many ways, but in this instance, the Old Country has it beat. I am so proud of my homeland for taking such a strong stand against cruelty to animals."

Dear Minister:

As a native Pole, I am so pleased to learn from my friends at PETA that the Polish military has made the compassionate decision to replace the use of live animals for medical training drills with sophisticated 21st century simulators.

I am proud that my home country recognizes that the lives of animals matter and that there are more humane and effective ways to teach people how to perform lifesaving medical treatments than by hurting animals.

I know that the momentum created by Poland's progressive example will encourage the five remaining NATO countries—Canada, Denmark, Norway, the U.K., and the U.S.—that still shoot, stab, burn, and kill animals in their military training drills to modernize their practices.

Thank you very much for your kindness to animals.

Yours sincerely,

Joanna Krupa

I am an animal lover through and through, but I do find PETA to be a tad intense. Just a giant tad. 🙂 However, I am thrilled that Poland made such a big change in its military training, and I hope that other countries who continue to train with animals will follow suit.
