I guess all the crystals in the world can't heal stupidity. Reality television's original villain and his surgically enhanced wife are finally admitting what we've all known for years…they were foolish. Heidi Montag was the fresh-faced, doe-eyed biffle of Laguna Beach alum Lauren Conrad when the girls conquered The Hills. Enter Spencer Pratt as Heidi's love interest and friendships crumble, siblings take sides, and the ridiculousness that is Speidi was born.
They started out tame enough, but quickly morphed into the most hated couple that seemed to thrive off of their horrific reputations. Then Heidi went and became a human Barbie getting oodles of plastic surgery including basketball sized tatas, and Spencer became obsessed with quartz. It didn't end well. Thankfully, they faded off into obscurity…kind of.

In Touch is reporting on the return of Spiedi. They're older, they think they're wiser. They are definitely owning some of their past mistakes which is refreshing. Talking to the magazine, Spencer admits, “We were immature and we got caught up."
The couple quickly blazed through their television earnings and now have little to show for their time in the spotlight. Spencer recalls, “Every time we’d go out to eat, we’d order $4,000 bottles of wine. Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000 to $30,000 a day. We thought we were Jay Z and Beyoncé.”
Heidi adds, “Now I can spend like $100 at Victoria’s Secret. I feel like a different person." Well, that's not really a fair assessment because she's not buying her bras there…no way they make tents large enough to cover her knockers!
While Heidi remembers her time with MTV fondly, she believes that it "took a tool on my soul. I'm thankful not to have fake fights anymore!" Spencer, however, has a few regrets, admitting, “I didn’t realize people would only know me as that character. It was just a persona I played up to make a paycheck.”
In case you're wondering why we're hearing from Speidi again, the duo is returning to TV in the E! special After Shock: Heidi & Spencer, which premieres Monday, Dec. 9.
