Brandi Glanville Apologizes And Defends Her Comments; Kyle Richards Says Brandi’s Not Racist

Brandi Glanville warned us ahead of time that the next few episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills would be rough and show her in a pretty unflattering light (with her mouth to blame more than the editing, in my opinion).  After tonight's episode aired (recap coming tomorrow morning!), Brandi called in to Watch What Happens Live (where Kyle Richards was the guest) to apologize again, specifically for the comments she made about Joyce Giraud (aka Jacqueline).

While they hung out by the pool in Palm Springs, Joyce revealed that she can't swim, which prompted Brandi to fire off with  "you're a black person".  Brandi then tried to jokingly explain that her black friends would've laughed at that because they, too, won't get in the water, fearing getting their weaves wet.  Brandi's castmates were shocked by her generalizations and fans reacted, calling her a racist.

Andy Cohen said to Brandi, "As you can imagine I got a buttload of Tweets for you, wanting to know what you were thinking.  Kenya Moore, Atlanta Housewife Tweeted 'not all black women wear hair weaves, half the women on Beverly Hills Housewives are wearing some fake hair. Brandi could not be more ignorant.' "

Brandi responded (sounding sober this time around), admitting how tacky it was.  "I know what I said was definitely inappropriate but I say a lot of inappropriate things. It was definitely not sensitive and I apologize to anyone I offended. But to be honest with you Andy, my friends joke with each other this way and they're all different backgrounds. So, I'm sorry and I guess you're not ready for the real Brandi? Should I censor myself?"

Andy asked, "do you think what you said was racist?" Brandi says she's not racist at all.  "I think it was definitely inappropriate.  I'm the least racist person of all time. I think the more you defend it, the more you look guilty, so I don't have to say that much more.  I'm very sorry with whomever I offended."

Kyle jumped to Brandi's defense on this one.  "I think Brandi was just trying to get a rise out of Joyce and I do not think that Brandi is a racist.  I really don't. I think it was not the greatest thing to say, not a smart comment. She sometimes says things that she shouldn't say."

TELL US – WAS BRANDI JUST TRYING TO BE CONTROVERSIAL OR WAS SHE JUST BEING BRANDI?
