Love & Hip Hop's K. Michelle had quite a 2013. For one thing, she released her album Rebellious Soul. For another, she's one of the saner personalities on the VH1 reality show. If you've followed K. Michelle's television career, you realize that is no small feat!
K. Michelle's album has exceeded expectations, debuting in August at number one on Billboard's R&B albums chart and in the second spot on the Billboard 200. The show, as you know, is a veritable train wreck with K. Michelle often the voice of reason.

In a recent radio interview with Radio.com, K. Michelle talks about her reality persona and reveals she has an upcoming spin-off called No New Friends, explaining, “That show is about my progression as businesswoman, as a brand,” she said, acknowledging her rise as a solo artist this year.
The hip-hop artist also a social media initiative that goes hand-in-hand with her album. The #RebelAgainst campaign is a platform for K. Michelle's fans to voice their opinions on issues such as racism and abuse while interacting about personal situations as well. K. Michelle shares, “You can be a rebel without a cause. I wanted to be a rebel with a cause.”
Of her chart-topping album, K. Michelle says, “It’s a soulful record, it’s urgent to today and it still gives you that old-school feel." She also reveals that she is producing a musical. I can only imagine what that will be like!
