Tori Spelling To Air Her Marriage Troubles In New Reality Series

Mother's Day Luncheon

Tori Spelling is putting a positive spin on her marriage woes. Yesterday the Lifetime Network sent out a press release announcing Tori's new show True Tori which will follow Tori and Dean as they work to repair their marriage. In a unique spin, the cameras will begin filming only weeks before the premiere date, allowing the show to air in what seems like real time.

For those of you who do not follow the drama that is Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, here is an overview. The twosome met on the set of a made-for-TV movie while both married to other people — not the best way to start a relationship if you ask me. After a wedding, popping out 4 kids rather quickly and starring in a variety of reality TV shows, the seemingly-happy twosome's world cam crashing down amidst Dean's alleged alcohol-fueled fling with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand in Toronto last December.

Even though Dean went into rehab to “address some health and personal issues” — still not sure what you are rehabbing from for cheating — and is back living with Tori and their children, she still doesn’t trust him, a source told The Enquirer.

“Dean has a long way to go before Tori forgives him,” the source continued. “His biggest fear is that she’ll divorce him and he’ll be left with nothing. So he’s on a mission to convince Tori that she’s still the love of his life. Dean has a lot of work to do. That’s why he wants to renew their vows. Dean really does love Tori AND he doesn’t want to lose his meal ticket.”

Lifetime is counting on these two to produce quality drama to pull in a large audience for True Tori. In their press release they described the show as being, 'a unique television event, Tori has made the courageous decision to allow the audience to witness the most difficult and unpredictable period in her life. Intimate, raw, emotional and completely real, Tori will tell her story for the first time as it should be told – by her. Since viewers will be seeing events almost immediately after they occur, nobody knows how the drama will unfold – not Tori, not Dean – and only time will tell if Tori and Dean’s marriage survives.

True Tori, premieres Tuesday, April 22 at 10pm ET/PT.
