Macy’s And Maker Studios Team Up For Original Competition Series “The Next Style Star”

Macy's and Maker Studios, the world’s largest provider of online video content for millennials, have teamed up to bring us an exciting new competition series, The Next Style Star. The ten-episode original online series debuted on April 3rd.

The Next Style Star features 16 aspiring stylists competing against each other for a chance to win $10,000 (final prize amount – competitions leading up to the finale result in a $5,000 prize for the winning stylist) and to serve as a guest stylist on a Macy's photo shoot. Incredibly exciting for any stylist – the winning style will be featured in the Impulse Department at Macy's Herald Square store in New York City.

“With an ongoing focus on the Millennial customer, Macy’s is passionate about creating innovative partnerships that will result in fresh, entertaining, and useful content for our customers,” says Martine Reardon. “Maker Studios is known for producing inventive video that appeals to the artful and sharp-witted tastes of this generation, and by joining forces to create The Next Style Star, we can showcase the best of what both brands have to offer.”

Following the April 3rd premiere episode, two of the sixteen stylists will compete each week, utilizing Macy's Impulse brands and focusing on the season's hottest trends. Makeup artist Jeanne Mai will host. Some of the judges include MADE Fashion Week founder Jenne Lombardo, reality TV star Whitney Port, and Maker partner Wendy Nguyen
