The Bachelorette is dealing with something the reality franchise has never head to deal with before — the tragic accidental death of contestant, Eric Hill, who is featured on the new season that has yet to air.
Bachelor and Bachelorette host, Chris Harrison spoke to People magazine about how they are dealing with his shocking death and what we can expect on this season, featuring assistant district attorney, Andi Dorfman.

Eric Hill died tragically last month from injuries he sustained in a paragliding accident in Utah. This is something that has never happened before and Chris Harrison and The Bachelorette producers are still trying to decide how they are going to deal with it.
"It's a horrible, horrible thing. He was taken away too young," host Chris Harrison tells PEOPLE. "It's something we've never dealt with on the show. It didn't only affect our cast, but also our crew who worked closely with him."
"He was a part of the show, and a big part of the show," says Harrison. "We all took a moment to step back and reflect and respect Eric and his family. We wanted to really take it all in and let ourselves mourn a little bit."
"Now that we've been mourning and dealing with it personally," he adds, "we have to deal with it professionally."
With the show premiering May 19, Harrison says, "We have a little bit of time to make the right decision." But exactly how they are going to handle Eric's scenes, "We're not 100 percent sure. But I feel like every decision we make will be out of respect."
Producers are also having to deal with the most accomplished bachelorette they have ever had as well. Assistant D.A. Andi Dorfman flopped with Juan-Pablo — shocking I know! — so did that cause producers to scramble to find men that were up to her standards?
"We didn't really have to raise the bar in casting [the men]," he says. "When it was announced that Andi is going to be our Bachelorette, the guys that we found and who approached us are of a much higher level."
