Quad Webb-Lunceford On Why She Ended Her Friendship With Mariah Huq; Plus, Is Quad Pregnant?

Married to Medicine Quad

Married to Medicine should have been titled Married to Dead Horses – not even the best doctors in Atlanta could revive the horses these ladies have beaten to death. Last season it was Mariah Huq beating Toya Bush-Harrisfiguratively and literally – over alleged beauty shop gossip. This season it's Mariah and Quad Webb-Lunceford, both, beating the end of their friendship

In a recent interview with Jasmine Brand, Quad claimed that she is over it.

"I don't want to talk about it as much as it has been discussed but people knew us for being like this, she was a person that I just completely adored," insisted Quad. "Completely adored. Loved her. Loved, loved, loved her. You had better not said anything about Mariah last year, honey, I would’ve snapped your neck two times for Mariah. I really would have because I looked at her like the sister I never had. It is really just unfortunate to see where we are today."

Quad admitted her problems with Mariah began before season one's reunion show, adding, "When we sat down on that couch for the reunion we were not the same Mariah and Quad that everyone knew. There were some things that had come full circle for me and I just couldn't believe that this was coming from a person I had called my best friend."

In general, Quad said she didn't appreciate Mariah's condescending tone of voice, constant lies, and manipulative nature. Gee, I can't imagine why! Maybe Quad's best friend expectations are set too high? #sarcasm

"When I reviewed some of the episodes of season one, I was seeing the little digs and the snide remarks that she was making in regards to me and I’m like ‘Wait a minute, what the hell is going on here?' because friends don’t do this, especially best friends don’t do this," said Quad. "For someone who I completely adored, cared about, loved, I put so much of me into our friendship, so for me to actually hear how SHE viewed me, was flooring. It was just way too much for me to take and like I said, where we are today, I would've never thought we were be here two years ago or even a year ago until I actually was seeing the episodes."

More specifically, Quad added, "Another time when she basically said to her husband, and I like her husband a great deal, I do, good guy, fun, and all that. I can remember when they were on their back terrace and she said, 'You can take the girl out of the ghetto but you cannot take the ghetto out of the girl.'"

"It was always a condescending, kind of subordinate role, I think, that she had for me," continued Quad. "To see myself not only supporting her but saying ‘OK hey listen, I’m going to support me, I’m going to put myself out there, I have to start expanding my brand and building my brand.’ I think that that made her a bit threatened and quite envious when the people said that I was the star of the show. I’m sorry, I don’t think that anyone should either request or expect or even want someone to dim their light to keep them shining, it doesn’t work like that. Listen we can shine together."

Quad denied she cares about the fame, as Mariah claimed repeatedly, and added that she only agreed to Married to Medicine as a favor to Mariah.

"I did this as a favor to a friend who came to me," claimed Quad. "I knew that I had some things to deal with and divulge, i.e., the personal situation that my fiance and I had a few years ago so I wasn’t just jumping at the opportunity to be honest with you but I did it for her. So for her to turn around and say that I’m all about a show and I need attention, I don’t really care about the attention, you guys don’t have to look at me another day and I mean that. I’m going to be okay regardless because I know my mindset, I know my work ethic, and I know what I’m doing."

Quad continued, "I mean ya know we kiki’ed. We’ll kiki and leg slap till’ the point of no return. That’s something that I definitely miss between her and I but is the kiki’ing worth me sacrificing my self-respect? Is it worth someone trying to constantly put me in a subordinate role to them?"

On a more personal level, Quad addressed recent pregnancy rumors and the fact that her husband, Dr. Gregory Lunceford, longs to start a family. On last night's show, we saw Gregory lecture Quad about priorities. It was epic.

"Right now I am without child," shared Quad. "I am not pregnant. I know a lot of people thought that I was and I know that that is something that he wants and of course I am going to give him everything that he desires. I am just thinking in terms of time. Right now I’m starting a new puppy couture clothing line, Picture Perfect Pup. You can shop at PicturePerfectPup.com. It’s a lot of pieces to the puzzle that must come together before I move on to motherhood but I am not a selfish person, I definitely want to experience motherhood and I do not care about losing my physique because she is going to bounce right back anyway."
