There have been some surprising cast shake-ups for the new season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Porsha Williams has been downgraded to just being a “friend” of the Housewives, Demetria McKinney joins the ranks as a fellow Housewife “friend” and former Price Is Right Barker’s Beauty, Claudia Jordan joins the ladies as a full-time housewife.
And no one was more surprised by Claudia’s promotion to full-time housewife than Claudia herself.

Claudia recently opened up about how she became a housewife on the Rick Smiley Morning Show.
“I thought I was just coming on the show as someone’s homegirl, you know, just to bring a little new energy to the show,” Claudia reveals about first joining the Real Housewives of Atlanta. And she was as surprised as the rest of us, when she found out that unlike Porsha Williams, she would be holding a peach this season.
“When I got home, I looked on the internet and that’s how I found out,” she says. “I was pretty surprised.”
Although the former Deal or No Deal model has appeared on both seasons 2 and 6 of Celebrity Apprentice, the beauty claims that she is scared of joining the RHOA. (Could it be because hair-pulling is a constant problem with our Atlanta ladies??)
“I was always nervous about reality TV…It always scared me,” she said. “If anyone kinda starts with me, I will pop off and say something smart, but there will be no violence; there will be no embarrassing myself. I’m 41 years old. I’ll probably pull a hamstring or something.”
