Steve Harvey is loving the reality stars lately!  The talk show host has been having tons of the Real Housewives on his show over the past few months and today’s turn was given to Real Housewives of New York City star Bethenny Frankel

Steve compliments Bethenny on always landing on her feet.  He asks what she was looking forward to the most on returning to Real Housewives of New York.  “When Andy Cohen came to my house after years of asking me to come back, I thought about it for a minute, not literally a minute but for a while, and then I said yes and I just knew it was what I was supposed to be doing.  I just felt it.  I just felt that I wanted to reconnect with people in a way that I hadn’t in a long time. I felt that it was the right thing to do.  I wanted the liberation and freedom to be funny and irreverent and be who I really am and I was just certain about it. I made the decision and I never questioned it. I enjoyed it, which is strange, but I really did, it was awesome.”

What’s Bethenny’s secret for constantly expanding the Skinnygirl brand, Steve wants to know.  “I do things that I love.  I come up with an idea and then I execute.  I came up with the cocktail and then I came up with the non-alcoholic beverages and now it’s dressings and coffees and sweeteners and chips.  It’s not because I’m trying to take over the world, it’s because I think it’s a good idea and it’s a great product and I love it and so then I do the next thing.  It’s not this big grand plan, it’s just what I do. I love ideas and I love executing them.”

Steve brings up her book and asks what she’s learned from her break up.  “I think of learned from most of my break ups and in general that you really have to go with your gut and I think men are better going with their gut instincts.  A man could never want to get married, meet the right person, it clicks and they just go and it doesn’t matter what they’ve said but women have everything on paper ‘I’m this age, it’s my clock, I need everything to be in a perfect Tiffany box tied up in a bow.  So you look great and my mother likes you and we’re in it now.’  Women go with their head or their heart and we should really go with our gut.  You just know, you feel it in the beginning and we brush it under the rug.  And I think that’s the thing.  If I would go with my gut in relationships the way that I do in my business, everything would be alright.”

How does being a single mom affect her daily life? “It’s not about looking at the bright side, women are insecure about having kids and dating and insecure about their age and dating and I think it weeds it all out. Having a child sets a pace, so you’re not so desperate, you have other things, you have another life so it’s working.  You don’t have clowns in the way. I have a kid, I love it, it’s my passion, it’s my life and if you don’t want that, step aside.”  Steve says that it’s a package deal and there’s no time for nonsense.

Bethenny shares that her dating deal breakers are , “cheapness is unattractive and also men that are into social networking.  Like men who know things that I’ve done or worn that I don’t even know that I’ve done.  I think it’s creepy.  A man shouldn’t be on Facebook all the time and Tweeting you and Googling you.  A man should be at work or buying you flowers.”  Steve admits that if he wasn’t famous, he would have nothing to do with social media at all.   Bethenny shares that someone told her that her Instagram was “weak” so she shared a photo of herself in her daughter’s pajamas and it was an international pajama scandal.  “So, my Instagram game is weak. But I’m gonna get better, but I will not be taking pictures of myself in my pajamas.”

Steve and Bethenny then help women who are making dating mistakes.  And I’m out.
