Lizzie Rovsek Thinks Meghan Edmonds’ Comments on Motherhood Were Misunderstood

Well, Lizzie Rosvek wasn’t pregnant (at least on the Tahiti trip) after all. Considering the build up in last week’s Real Housewives of Orange County blog, it feels like a bit of a let down! But Lizzie has more to reflect on than taking a Vicki Gunvalson-supplied EPT test, commenting this week on her business, her feelings about Mo’orea so far, and her take on Meghan Edmonds’ statements about mothering her step children.

Lizzie updates us on Sun Kitten, her swimwear line first: “I’m gearing up for a big week with Sun Kitten. We are shooting the 2016 campaign tomorrow in Newport Beach. I’m very excited about the new collection and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.” But let’s move on to Tahiti, shall we? Thankfully, Lizzie shares, “I finally received my luggage and it felt so good to put fresh clothes on after two days.”

Agreeing to take a pregnancy test in front of the entire group turned out to be alright, but was not Lizzie’s first choice scenario. “When Vicki told everyone she found some pregnancy tests I felt torn about taking them,” admits Lizzie. “I wanted to take the test because I wanted to know if I was pregnant or not…I would have been fine taking the test with just Vicki and Shannon [Beador], but I love being with everyone and I didn’t think it was any kind of big secret. Why not make it a family affair? I was happy to have the support of my friends. I didn’t realize that Heather [Dubrow] thought it was so tacky of me to take a pregnancy test in Tahiti. Gee, I’m sorry I wasted three minutes of her trip.” Ha!

After getting a negative test result, Lizzie confesses, “I have to be honest I was a little relieved with the negative result. I would have been ecstatic to be pregnant, but we just started trying and I had not mentally prepared myself yet for having baby number three.” Plus, a negative result meant more whooping, less wondering for Lizzie! “Regardless, I’m in Mo’orea, Vicki’s driving the Fun Bus and since I’m not pregnant guess who’s going to Whoop it up? You got it, it’s time to relax and have some fun!”

Unlike Shannon and Vicki, Lizzie thought it was “really cool to swim with sharks and stingrays. The water in Mo’orea was crystal clear and so gorgeous.” Although she did rely on Shannon and Vicki for her entertainment on the outing. “Shannon and Vicki just crack me. Those two are so funny. It’s a wonder how we all didn’t get eaten alive with those two screaming and carrying on. They make me laugh.”

Moving on to the comment heard round the world, Lizzie weighs in on Meghan’s feelings about motherhood, and her statements about wishing her step kids were her biological children. “As a mother, I have to agree with Tamra [Judge] and Vicki,” asserts Lizzie. “I can’t understand why Meghan was so emotional about her stepchildren not being her own children? They have a mother.”

MEGHAN EDMONDS DEFENDS HER COMMENTS ABOUT WANTING TO BE HER STEP KIDS’ ‘REAL MOM’!

Lizzie continues, “If Christian remarried and another woman was the stepmother of my children and I heard her wish my kids were her biological children, I would be appalled. I understand Meghan doesn’t have children yet, and that’s fine. She’s young. A lot of women don’t have children at age 30. She has plenty of time to procreate and I have no doubt that she’ll be a great mom. However, her step kids have a mother and I would think that an important role of a stepmother would be to make sure the kids have a healthy relationship with their own biological mother. No one can take the place of someone’s true mother. It would be a nightmare for some woman to pretend like my little boys were theirs.”

But Lizzie thinks Meghan’s comments, however incendiary, were probably not intended to be offensive. She explains, “I can’t imagine she actually meant what she was saying. I think what she meant to say is that she loves those kids just as much as if they were her own.”

Heading back to the hotel on night two of their Mo’orea trip, Lizzie closes her blog by admitting she was more tickled than annoyed by the three drunken ladies awaiting them. “Vicki, Shannon, and Tamra were hilarious. Those three were having way too much fun!” she jokes. Having been stuck with the two stiffest RHOC castmates at their more “civilized” outing that evening may have had something to do with her #unbothered reaction to the Full Throttle Whooping going on back at the resort!
