Well, the rumors are
sadly true. Soon-to-be-incarcerated Joe Giudice has indeed been filming a short series for Bravo which will likely air this fall. The still unnamed Real Housewives of New Jersey spinoff will reveal what life looks like for Joe and his four daughters as wife and mother Teresa Giudice is serving her 15-month fraud sentence in prison.
Back in July, Andy Cohen claimed to have no knowledge of rumors that Joe and family were in talks with Bravo about filming a special. Regarding the series happening, Andy slyly evaded, “If it is, I have nothing to do with it.” Hmmm. Is Andy taking lessons from the Giudices’ lawyer about building a solid defense? Deny, deny, deny.

The short series will feature familiar faces from RHONJ in addition to Joe and Teresa’s four daughters Gia, Milania, Gabriella and Audriana. Housewife castmates from last season, twins Teresa Aprea and Nicole Napolitano, are rumored to make an appearance. As are Joe and Teresa’s brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Melissa Gorga. Sources told Page Six that scenes were being filmed with Teresa’s girls and Melissa’s daughter, Antonia, getting mani/pedis together in July.
More private “characters” like Teresa’s parents, Giacinto and Antonia Gorga, will also appear in some scenes. E! News reports that scenes will not feature Teresa herself (so, no filming in the clink then?), but will record conversations Joe and the girls have with Teresa when she phones from prison. “Viewers will hear her checking in and talking to her family,” a source tells E! News. Oh, and the very loose-lipped Giudice lawyer, James Leonard, Jr., will also be making appearances! So, they’ve got the entire spectrum of dysfunction covered then, no?
Teresa is due to be released on house arrest in December of this year, after which Joe will begin serving his 41-month sentence. Joe’s Bravo special will likely segue into the new, delayed, season of RHONJ which will also undoubtedly center around…who else? Teresa.
