Brandi Glanville is not the only one out there defending the sad and very troubling behavior Kim Richards. Monty Brinson, ex-husband and lifetime friend of the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, took to social media yesterday to post an old photo of the two of them along with unwavering praise and support for Kim – in homage to a bygone era where Kim appeared happy and healthy, perhaps?
“One day the people that didn’t believe in you will tell everyone how they met you,” wrote Monty. “That quote is in honor of @kimrichards11 all I will say at this time besides being best friends, and personally a person who has a great heart is thankful to all her fans and friends for believing in her.”

Admitting that he hasn’t seen Kim recently, Monty continues, “Personally I have not seen her but we speak everyday. Do I know everything absolutely. Do I take up for my family and friends absolutely. Do I say it like it is. Absolutely. Is my heart filled with love for everyone absolutely.”
Rambling a bit more, but offering no specifics, Monty seems to claim that recent reports of Kim’s disturbing behavior (shoplifting from the Target dollar section? living out of her car? rehab hopping?) are mostly contrived works of fiction. “Without going into detail 90 per-cent of what you read is completely false,” asserts Monty. “But for her fans that have stayed with her through this roller coaster will see her very soon at what she’s done best all her life since the age of 4. I’m excited for her. And personally I would like to thank everyone who stood by her through this rough time.”
Kim was arrested weeks ago for shoplifting roughly $600 in merchandise from a Van Nuys Target, a charge to which she’s making a plea of not guilty. Kim will face the justice system August 20th in response to the charge. Although she initially headed to rehab for addiction issues following her previous arrest in April at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the former RHOBH star has been in the news the past handful of months not for her recovery, but for her lack of it.

While sister Kathy Hilton tweeted support for Kim after her embarrassing Target fiasco, Kyle Richards has been mum on the subject. Former RHOBH costar Brandi Glanville spoke about Kim in an interview last week, citing their continued friendship and her irresponsible enabling support for her. “She’s going through it,” said Brandi of Kim. “She’s struggling right now. All I can do as a friend is just be there for her.”
In a similar vein, Monty seems to be using his Instagram post to call fans and viewers to lay off Kim. He chides, “Remember everyone in life goes through a rough time one way or another. I always say know the facts before being judgmental.” Well, you know what they say: you can love an addict to death. Here’s hoping Kim has some “friends” in her corner who are willing to give her a different kind of love. The tough kind.
