Little Women: LA’s Erik Tsou Shares Weight Loss Journey Success!

With their long-awaited baby boy on the way, Erik Tsou and wife Traci Harrison Tsou have taken some time away from the spotlight, but not from their dreams. While Traci celebrated at the baby shower that her former Little Women: LA costar (and still best friend) Terra Jole threw her last weekend, Erik has taken to Instagram to share his story of weight loss and renewed health. 

The subject of maintaining a healthy weight is an important one in the little people community, as we’ve seen on Little Women: LA for the past three seasons. Back issues, bone development, and metabolism for given height/weight ratios are topics of concern – and much discussion – of the show’s stars, and the little people community at large. Former LWLA hubby Erik, like many little people, has struggled with his own weight in the past. Yesterday Erik shared the above pic on Instagram, stating, “Everyone has their own story of where they’ve been & where they are headed. Here is mine…. This is 6 years in the making & I’m not done. I still have work to do to accomplish my goals. This was at my heaviest 221.5 pounds. As of today I’ve lost a total of 95 pounds.”

“I’m not here to tell you it’s easy, because it’s not. It takes commitment, sacrifice, strength, heart, determination & being focused on what you want to achieve,” continues Erik. “It DOES NOT happen overnight. Don’t get caught up on quick results…because it’s a lifestyle change not a quick fix & nutrition is 75% of it. Being active & working out is 25%. As a lot of people say, ‘You can’t out train bad nutrition.’ It’s true.”

Emphasis on nutrition rather than exercise alone seems to be Erik’s winning strategy, which is interesting considering that fact that most of the LWLA cast focuses on exercise as their primary strategy (Tonya Banks Little Boss Body Workout video comes to mind!). 

Erik shares, “When I first started this journey I worked out almost 6 days a week. I lost weight because I was so overweight that it was bound to make pounds fall off. But my nutrition was off. I would go home & eat whatever I wanted, not caring or making sure I got the proper nutrition to feed my body. It was not until I worried more about my nutrition did I finally see results. Making better food choices (foods close to nature as possible) & making sure I was feeding my body properly.”

Erik and Traci seem to be in a great place to welcome their baby boy into the world in less than two months! Their child, who will be average-sized, will likely present the couple with many challenges (and blessings, of course!) in keeping up with him as he grows. Erik gushes, “I am extremely happy & blessed in my life. I feel good health wise, I have a baby on the way & I have a beautiful wife. I thank God every day.”

Erik’s final word of advice for little people – and anyone – on the road to weight loss: “Bottom line is anybody can make excuses but not until you stop making them & start putting in the work will you see results.” 

I have to wonder if this big Instagram “speech” is precipitating a workout video of his own, as Erik and Traci have been pretty quiet on social media these past months, up until now. Things that make you go hmmmmm…
